On January 29, Queen Maxima attended a meeting at Noordeinde Palace in The Hague as honorary president of the project "More Music in the Classroom (Méér Muziek in de Klas)". In the presence of the Minister of Education, Culture and Science Ingrid van Engelshoven, and ambassadors of More Music in the Classroom, the meeting was held with aldermen of major cities. The meeting was about local and regional embedding of music education at primary schools in the major cities. |
Oh she looks pregnant, since it is probably not the case, a bad choice...

DeleteOMG! Cette tenue, Reine Maxima, c'est non!
ReplyDeleteThis is a terrific cause, and I am delighted that Queen Maxima is supporting it. Her dress is quite nice — the only change I would make would be to switch the colors: gold for the bodice, and black below. This would draw the eye upward, creating a more figure-flattering look.
ReplyDeleteI agree on all points.
DeleteAt some point in life one has to realize she no longer has her high school figure and needs to start wearing clothes that fit your current weight. Unfortunately this dress looks uncomfortable on Queen Maxima. Maybe she should start looking for a new stylist that is going to be honest with her and encourage her to start wearing clothes that flatter her current size!
ReplyDeleteI agree
DeleteOMG. Why this body shaming, just because her tummy is a bit more prominent? No visible tummy allowed for nonpregnant queens under 60 - and if there is one, fashion means to hide it? - As for the dress, I like it, and yes, color switch is a very good idea, because then those funny black pinnacles or peaks would show upwards and maybe that would be less awkward looking? (Ann.)
ReplyDeleteIt just looks uncomfortable. the dress looks tight and the shoes are too high.
ReplyDeleteI agree
DeleteI don't think the dress had anything to do with her not having her high school figure, or it's inappropriate for her body type, in my opinion the photo produces an optical illusion, and gives the impression of a round belly, we have seen recent pictures of her, and I am sure that it didn't grow overnight. It doesn't help that this dress is just not pretty. The busy and somewhat dated fabric, combined with the odd bodice, just doesn't work.
ReplyDeleteVery much agreed. I see no body shaming in saying this dress just doesn't suit her at all. She is a beautiful woman, and wearing clothing that fits and flatters would just compliment her beauty.
DeleteChel
Seems almost every women there had the same idea, black and yellow?I really can't make up my mind if I like this dress.
ReplyDeleteJolie toilette de Maxima mais je préfère celle de la femme à sa droite !
ReplyDeleteLooking at this picture, three things came to my mind: Did they colour coordinate, does Queen Maxima have foot/ leg pain (I happen to think her heels are way too high) and this dress with he tight black top and funny black arrows pointing down is just not a nice dress.
ReplyDeleteThe optical illusion of a belly I only noticed after other posters pointed it out.
Queen Maxima ist a tall Women with a good figure, maybe she needs some advise how to dress for the Cameras
as well as the courage to get off these horrible high heels!
I think if the colours were reversed the overall look would be much better.
ReplyDeleteIt’s refreshing to see a royal lady look like 80% of the female population aren’t we all bloated sometimes? It’s unfortunate that the picture was taken from a lower angle, but thank God we still have some realistic royal ladies out here.
ReplyDeletePerhaps they had cabbage for lunch?
DeleteN as mentioned..l a great cause,..more music in the classroom!! Whoop whoop....
DeleteThink the photo is taken at an unflattering angle and the front hand clasp makes Queen Maxima's stomach appear more prominent than it is. I like the colour combo---has she worn this before? Agree that the light top and dark skirt would be more flattering. I like the dress of the lady standing next to her.
