The reception took place at the Royal Palace in Amsterdam. Princess Beatrix, Princess Margriet and Prof. Pieter van Vollenhoven were present at the reception. | On January 15, 2020, Queen Maxima visited the Scouting Netherlands Cubs, which celebrates 100 anniversary of its establishment. The Cubs ( Welpen), children between 7 and 11 years old, are the largest age category within Scouting. Queen Maxima helped the welpen with baking and decorating the cupcakes. |
Very nice outfit today. I think Maxima really enjoy's her work.

ReplyDeleteAt the risk of being burned at the stake, I have to say that Máxima needs to wear a bra, if she is wearing one you can't tell, her bust falls way below the natural line of the pleats, personally I think it ruins the entire outfit.
ReplyDeleteI think the dress has a very good color combination, and a little old fashioned vibe, nevertheless it's not unattractive and it could look much better if it was not so tight and with proper undergarments. Her hair looks very good.
Cherry Blossom. you are correct. The darts should be at her bustline, her bust is below the darts and way too flat & squished. Her tops are always too tight. ~Rose~
DeleteNo stake burning: I agree wholeheartedly. Maxima never wears good underwear. It makes you wonder whether she ever sees the pictures of herself. Even her stockings do her no favour: too shiny, which make her legs look heavy.

I agree ther is something wrong at the level of the brest, either the dress or the bra.
DeleteShe doesn't look healthy at the beginning of the year. Seems as if she is tired and gained weight. Hope she is ok.

DeleteYaaay--some colour from Maxima at last--really like this outfit though I would concede that it is not the most flattering thing she has worn, the flared skirt makes her look broader in the hips than a straight skirt would. Colour combo is lovely and the earrings are great. Only one negative note, as with the Duchess of Cambridge earlier today, which is long hair not tied back when working with food (even for a photo op!) Love the King in his formal wear as well but wish he would get rid of the very ageing beard.
ReplyDeleteMaxima's outfits are my favourites by far, because they ooze with colour and style, like this fabulous combination. I agree with others that this is too small, and it's not the first time. But the top is tight allover; chest, sleeves and body, despite the corset underneath. I also think the outfit was too much for a scout event, and with the sapphire & diamond earrings she was over-dressed for the occasion. But the look, at least one size up, is excellent.

DeleteCompared to other royals many times Queen Maxima misses the mark simply because her clothes look cheap and then add to that they don't fit well and the construction is sloppy!

ReplyDeleteOn the size, I wonder if during their outfit planning they say to themselves or to staff "that one needs a bit of tailoring but this one I can deal with." So some pieces are left to be slightly ill-fitting.
