On January 6, 2020, Prince Christian, Princess Isabella, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine started a 12-week period of schooling at the international school Lemania-Verbier in Switzerland. Crown Princess Mary will primarily stay with the children in Switzerland during the period, and Crown Prince Frederik will get together with his family when possible according to his schedule. When the school stay ends, all four children will continue their education in their current classes at Tranegårdsskolen in Gentofte. (Crown Princess Mary wore a wool vest by Moncler.) |
Mary looks wonderful in her skinny jeans and gorgeous jacket! The kids, in their school jackets, look very cute. And, of course, Prince Frederik is very handsome. I hope the children have a wonderful experience at the International School.
ReplyDeleteNice family photos.

What a great idea to allow these modern mixed national background children the experience of international school. From their immediate family they have Australian/Scottish/Danish/Swedish/French--not bad going at all. The Dutch and Belgian Royal families have also sent their children to international school but it's lovely that the family will be together. Hope they have a fantastic time.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous family. The children are growing up so fast and so beautifully.
ReplyDeleteAll family members look great . They are very well dressed and look relaxed. Love everything about Mary s look.
ReplyDeleteI guess this explains why none of them went to Ari Behn’s funeral. Moving to another country for a while must be stressful.
ReplyDeleteThey look good:)
At the time of the funeral they and queen Margarethe had their royal duties for the third day. Starting 1th of januari up till 3th of january they always host the traditional New Year receptions. You can find beautiful foto's and beautiful dresses.
DeleteThey couldn’t attend because the court’s third New Year’s reception took place on the same day as the funeral. Mary and Frederik always attend with the queen.
DeleteI saw the pictures. I just missed the dates. Still in vacation mood.
DeleteThe danish royal family consists of 6 people who has it as their job to represent the country, someone could have represented Denmark in the funeral. After all they are not only close friends, but family.
DeleteAnon. 4.55 not very close family
DeleteLove and education, the best things you can give your children. And on a lesser scale: a sense of fashion. The Danish Four have it all:-) and a good looking bunch they are too. I hope, they enjoy the time in Switzerland!
ReplyDeleteWow have they all have grown!
ReplyDeletePrince Christian as tall as his dad...
Lovely family
To my eyes, there's something wrong in the House of Denmark... Mary and Frederik seem very distant lately and interacting more with their children then with each other. Hope the time in Switzerland helps to fix the crack. Fashionwise they all look cute like always. Black Widow.
ReplyDeleteAnd to my eyes, there is no crack. They are maturing normally like any other couple of their age with four children. What I see a growing united love between the 6 of them. And yes, fashion wise, they all look cute.
DeleteThat kind of gossip doesn't belong here. They have four children and they seem to be loving and caring parents.
DeleteNo need to quote "Hamlet".
DeleteMargot
I agree that this is no place for baseless gossip. I watched a 5 minute interview they gave to reporters on the slopes before I even saw these photos and Fredrik, Mary, Christian and Isabella were very engaged and happy to talk about their upcoming 12 week experience. Mary and Fredrik come across as caring and concerned parents. What a wonderful experience to give their children.

Agree with you deadeggs.
DeleteTo my eyes I think people on this site is too nosey. If they have problems so what it's none of our business anyway. Let them be.
DeleteI agree re: the unnecessary gossip. I will also add how unfounded it is considering their observed behavior has shown no signs of distance to me. The Paris trip, just the other night walking in to the New Year’s & diplomatic receptions.
DeleteNow to these pics a big family move and huge change and I think, as a parent if 4 kids, your thoughts as parents are rightly focused on assuring your kids -amidst your decision and change- that it’s ok.
Glo
Belles photos de tous les membres de cette superbe famille qui ont beaucoup d'allure... Les enfants grandissent bien vite !
ReplyDeleteGreat Family pic.The kids must be wearing school uniforms. Very nice look on everyone.Skiing on weekends, one can't ask for anything better then that. I hope there is not to much intrusion while they are in Verbier. A beautiful place.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I know and recognise that this is a site about fashion.... But this being said, I must admit that
ReplyDeletedo find it more and more disturbing to read about these overprivileged people who live their overprivileged and overluxurious lives on our expenses, for doing what exactly?
Lily T.
I mean you can leave this site if you don't like it so🤷
DeleteAnonymous 9:33pm - Indeed. Must be nice, eh? A move to a different country that's all paid for. However, as the future of Denmark royally speaking, this is a good move for them. They look fine; and hopefully the children will enjoy their new experience, do well in school, and be back home soon with their old friends. ~Rose~
DeleteLily T.Your point is valid;what we see is all part of the PR that all Royals now have. It does not mean that this family are any different than us.They are packaged to look perfect;clothes, relationship etc.Now look at the reality;the kids will miss their dad.Mary looks sad,and Frederick will miss Mary. The clothes;school uniform;the intention is to give the children a broader education. The grey outfit is a bit depressing. Give me the beach anyday who wants the freezing cold. Tara.
DeleteUnless we live in a truly communist country where production means and wealth is distributed equally ----- there will be people who are well off, those who aren't, and those who used to be well off might not be anymore, and those who were born humble might be well off. Those born with 'good' life might not make an effort to keep it and those born with humble life can make an effort to change things around.
DeleteIt's not just about what you're born with but what you do with it. If you're okay with whatever you're born with, then so be it. If you're not okay with what you're born with, then make an effort to change things around. While jealousy/annoyance/irritation in moderate amount like any other emotions can be helpful acting as a motivator but too much of it doesn't get anyone anywhere.

I want the cold, Tara:) It means great winter jackets/coats/boots/mittens and beautiful cozy wool scarves. And also cross country skiing on a beautiful sunny day. The more snow the better. It's my favourite season <3 and I also really dislike sweaty warm days and sandy beaches.
DeleteMary's coat isn't necessarily that beautiful, but it looks practical and warm 1500 meters above sea level.

@Nia: you miss the point completely..... these people are being paid by us for their “meaningful” jobs. I sincerely doubt the meaningfulness. And they inherit not only wealth, but these “jobs” as well, whether they are suited or not. Very undemocratic.
DeleteLily T.
Dear Lily,
DeleteSo what are you going to do about it.
Nia
Honestly, I am tired of people who express their disdain about the royals especially on a website specifically about them. Also, at the end of the day, it's a mere website.
DeleteI would rather organise something with like-minded people that can actually do something to overthrow monarchy in their respective countries instead of tapping the keyboard about disdain towards them in the name of freedom of expression. These monarchy in the modern era, they ARE aware of public's general opinion about them with many number of them being not royals by birth themselves. But they can't just overthrow what's been about for centuries just because that's what the public wants. So, many number of them instead try to remain mindful of the public and lose their 'facade' and engage more with the public.
As for the tax, again, either engage yourself in the public service and come up with a bill that cuts the money for them or organise a group with the like-minded to bring social awareness or emigrate to countries with no monarchy.
With the changing time, they are indeed at a very awkward era especially with the hounding media through which the public gets unlimited access to their affairs 24/7. That said, I think it's all up to the compromise between the monarchy and the public and how we deal with each other.
Nia
What am I going to do about it? I am learning to knit😉
DeleteLily T.
Please, pretty please stop lecturing us about your socio-political preferences, most of us get on this site to see some fashion and enjoy a little frivolous entertainment, and then we go back to our lives, doing our best, and with the understanding that there are social differences, and incredibly enough we sometimes do things to improve other people's lives, without acritud or envy. There is always the voting option, go for parties that promise to abolish the monarchy, although most of them seem to enjoy very priviledge lives themselves. Rant over. Happy New Year!!
DeleteI think you have a gppd point in your words.
DeleteThere are people on this side who can not except critisism and act like they were radikal dangeres religious people.
Of course every country who has monarchy to day know that a system with a family who should have taxes and being born to a work they never asked for,has very little in commons with democraty and humans rights.
Margreth knows that she can be the last one,Denmark have politics who are working hard for becoming a republic.
They live their overprivileged, overluxurious lives because the people in their countries allow it.
DeleteMeghan
@Cherry Blossom: as much as I appreciate your fashion reviews... all this exposure of and especially fawning over the “hard work” of the royals, can provoke criticism as well.
DeleteLily T.
My thoughts. Looking at these pictures I immediately thought that Mary and Fredrik seem quite distant to each other, something I never remarked before.
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing wrong, as you can see yourself, if you check the video. In picture number 7, Mary is actually looking at Frederik, who is speking to the cameras, and to my eye, that look on her face says it all. :)
ReplyDelete-Reka
The children are in for a great adventure and wonderful experience. They seem very tight knit and close the children, so lovely to see. A beautiful family.
ReplyDeleteVincent is so cute. ~Rose~
