Here we go with the overly-tight jeans. They're back!

I agree. Inappropriate and juvenile for her age.

    2. Agreed. I don't think I've ever seen her in a pair of jeans that aren't spray painted on.

    3. So what I've seen women in their 40's and 50's wearing skinny jeans but hey since it's Kate the nitpickers wants to crawl out of their shells🀷

    4. Ah, the war between die-hard fans of spray-painted-on jeans/jeggings/leggings, and equally die-hard fans of classic trousers (I'm in the latter group, no surprise there) are predictably in session. Since some of us don't think that Catherine should be wearing skin-tight clothing, it is obvious (with apologies to Davion) that we'd find the spectacle of women in their 40s and 50s wearing such items even less attractive. Some trends are invented without regard to aesthetics. Others, over time, become classic. We'll see what happens with leggings (wink, wink :-D).

Oh, hi Davion. Pretty sure people aren't "nitpicking". We all have our opinions and notice different things, we don't all like the same thing - I assume you don't like everything either.

    6. When Princess Marie wore the overly tight pantsuit the other week at a conference in Paris I expressed at it was unprofessional too...

    7. Juvenile for her age? I am 3yrs younger than Kate and LOVE skinny jeans either. But (without any negativities!): let's say you are my stylist. What should we wear- women at thirties- if have some outdoor activities?
Imo Kate looks like a lovely Xmas elf 🧝‍♀️πŸ¬πŸŽ„

Not only Kate gets criticized, also Letizia, Madeleine and Marie, but this shinny jeans have been 'a classic' to wear in royal circles as well …… just as the long 1960s hair fashion look, IMO.
And Kate is as always dressed for the job.Lovely pics!

If you have the body to wear skinny jeans, they look fine. Many women, if not most, don't have the figure to look good in them. Kate looks great in them, and there is no reason she shouldn't wear them. Too many people here don't know fashion trends and are 20 years behind the fashion curve.

Lovely photos. She is dressed appropriately as a young mother spending the morning with a group of pre-schoolers, which of course is exactly what she is. She looks relaxed and comfortable and completely in her element with them. I'm sure George and Charlotte (and soon Louis) are used to seeing her like this :)

These type of engagements are always her very best. She’s a natural with kids and great outdoors. Fashion wise, he jacket and sweater look comfy and well fitted and she pulls off the jeans thanks to her height and lithe legs.

And a lot of exercising, no doubt. I don't care how good your genes are (no pun intended) once you've had three kids and reached a certain age you have to be active to maintain in any sort of muscle tone. I'm not hating on her for that. I would just like to see her in some "normal" fitting skinny jeans for once. I think she'd look even more fabulous.

I like the colour mix, but I’d like to see her in some slim, straight leg jeans for a change. The skinnies are fine tucked into tall boots, but otherwise they are a bit dated. (V.M.)

Agreed "anon 1:33 am" I'm not saying she can't (or shouldn't) ever wear the supper skinny jeans; I just think that for "official work" such as this patronage (handed down from the Queen no less) a straight leg or tapered jean would be more appropriate. I can be a bit too old fashioned at times (it even surprises me on occasion, lol) but these jeans aren't leaving much to the imagination they're so tight. "Painted-on" is a very apt description.

  8. I think she looks very appropriate for this engagement. Outside, with young children, similar in age to her own. Agreed with above, these are some of her best moments, as they keep her relatable as a mom of small children. She looks festive in her red and green (love the quilted jacket). As for the jeans, I find nothing wrong. They look great on her, aren't fussy, and good for an outdoor setting.

Kate looks very Christmassy;quite appropriate for the occassion, it is quite cold in the U.K at this time of the year. Some parts of Australia 40 plus this time of the year. I like her bouncy hair;her happy disposition is well appreciated by all she just gets on with it.

  10. Catherine is young, tall and slim and she is playing with children outside. I see nothing wrong with her wearing skinny jeans. Other young women are wearing similar jeans. I really like her red jacket and green sweater. They look very Christmassy.

Que contraste ese pelo ondulado, lo considero anticuado mas respecto a la ropa que lleva tipo deportivo, no corresponde, no me gusta como va vestida!

    1. I get that you don't like her style on these pictures, but the wavy hair it's not anticuated, in fact this sort of soft curl from the ear down, is rather in style with the younger generation, maybe not your preference but not old fashioned

  17. The Duchess rocks. She has a great figure, and is one of a handful of royals who can actually wear skinny jeans.

I think skinny jeans can be worn by anyone who feels him/herself comfortable in them. Perhaps not for the Nobel-gala, but for an outdoor event with kids they are totally appropriate. They are comfy and stretchy, and sure, they show the form of your legs, but if that’s ok for you then it should be ok for others too. Everyone knows what legs look like so there certainly are no suprises there. No need to hide not-so-skinny legs in loose trousers either — if you don’t feel like it.

Skinny jeans - not the best, but Kate finds them comfortable & warm and it's a big op to show off her legs. However, on a visit where she'll be bending down to interact with the young'uns, a pony tail at least would be a good idea to keep the ever-hanging hair out of their faces (and hers) - it's even almost touching the table in that last photo.

For sure we can all agree that skinny jeans aren’t the ONLY way to dress for a day with kids. It is NOT what one would wear for a work activity. Plenty of other options, both youthful, trendy and appropriate. It’s clear she has a great fitness level and works hard to stay that way. We ALL already know that very well. She doesn’t need to remind us about that at every occasion that comes up. It’s almost like some form of insecurity. Really she should feel both comfortable and confident to wear clothes that draw attention to the cause, not her physique.

    1. I'm sorry but the reach of this comment is very appalling. So do you expect her to wear a ball gown with stielttos on a farm with children or wear shorts with sandals in the winter cold? She's a grown woman and she can wear whatever she wants and just because she has a great body doesn't mean she's insecure. You're being ridiculous over a woman wearing comfortable clothes for a more relax engagement and she looks perfectly fine and comfortable in what she's wearing. Where is the same energy when other royals wear skinny jeans or any other style of clothing?πŸ€”
