| On December 9, 2019, Queen Silvia and Princess Madeleine of Sweden attended the award ceremony for the first Childhood Award. In 2019, Childhood Foundation celebrates its 20th anniversary. The highlight of the year 2019 is the establishment of the Childhood Award which is an annual prize that will be handed out to the unsung heroes in Sweden who dedicate their lives to protecting children from violence and sexual abuse, but are seldom recognized for their contributions. ReplyDeleteToday, Madeleine's combo is kind of half-perfect: The colour is great for her and the whole cut is stunning, but I just don't like the belt, the satin pockets and the satin stripes on her pants.
The Queen on the other hand looks elegant and very lady-like. I love this great magenta, my favorite colour!

I agree about the satin parts of the pantsuit, especially along the trousers. I feel it cheapens the otherwise elegant look. Satin is so firmly associated with nightwear, so not the best choice for a pantsuit that´s already a bit similar to pyjamas. The midnight blue is gorgeous however, and I like the silhouette very much.
DeleteSilvia looks great, such a beautiful colour. But the scarf is indeed a bit overwhelming for her outfit. It´s a great matching piece, but I wish she had draped it differently to allow her dress to be seen.
Lastly, I think Madeleine needs a more delicate watch. Hers is a bit bulky for a lady, especially when dressed elegantly.
I agree. She is the most beautiful. What a stunning lady.

I think they both look wonderful. The slouchy, softly tailored navy pantsuit is an interesting shape and great colour for P. Madeleine. (V.M.)

ReplyDeleteLiebe Nanni, ich bin so gar nicht bewegt. Ich finde, dass der Schal der Koenigen zwar schoen ist, aber viel zu lang, als wollte sie etwas verdecken. Madeleine sieht zwar schick aus, aber sie ist jung und hat eine gute Figur, das ist dann auch nicht so schwierig. Ein Segen soll das alles sein, das verstehe ich nicht, aber ich respektiere durchaus, dass Sie so edel denken.

Ich finde das schlicht großartig, was die Königin und Prinzessin Madeleine da leisten - sexueller Mißbrauch von Kindern ist eine Tat direkt aus der Hölle und sich diesem Elend entgegenzusetzen, doch, das ist in meinen Augen absolut ein Segen.
Der Schal der Königin ist vermutlich im Zusammenhang mit ihrer Lungenentzündung vor ein paar Jahren zu sehen - ist Ihnen nicht aufgefallen, daß sie seitdem an kühleren Abenden eigentlich nie ohne ein wärmendes Tuch zu sehen ist ?
Ich denke, sie wird ihn einfach brauchen.
Sie haben natürlich vollkommen Recht: Wenn man jung und hübsch ist, ist es wirklich nicht schwierig, gut auszusehen.
Aber hier auf diesen Fotos hat Madeleine irgendwie eine besondere Ausstrahlung, man spürt, daß ihr sowohl die Arbeit der Childhood Foundation als auch ihre Mutter sehr am Herzen liegen und das spiegelt sich in ihrem ganzen Auftreten wider.
Doch, das berührt mich sehr.

Ist ja nicht schlimm ;-)) Viel schlimmer finde ich, dass ich in Sachen "dekorativ in der Gegend herumstehen" noch kein Kleid für Silvester habe, während eine Freundin, die mit auf derselben Party sein wird, seit Tagen mit ihrem schönen neuen Abendkleid angibt... und wir haben schon Mitte Dezember, au weia… zum Glück bin ich keine Royal unter öffentlicher Beobachtung... schöne Vorweihnachtszeit an alle!

ReplyDeleteI think Queen Silvia looks fabulous. She appears to be wearing a dress rather than a suit, and the addition of the scarf adds interest. Princess Madeleine is, indeed, beautiful. The color of her suit is really nice. But, I do not like the satin stripe down the leg, and the bow and the pockets produce an unpleasing effect. The belt, without pockets (who needs pockets these days?), would have been much better in my opinion.

ReplyDeleteMadeleine looks good the suit is very striking; I compare Madeleine and her husband Chris; to Harry and Meghan as Madeleines husband seemed to have had a hard time at the beginning with being married to a royal it can't be easy.The colour of Queen Sylvia's suit is bright and cheery.

ReplyDeleteMadeleine is indeed a beautiful woman with an splendid figure. I think she has become more fashionable in the last couple of years. This suit has everything to be very elegant, color, and cut, including the trendy lateral stripe, but the belt ruins the whole effect, it's superfluous, clashes with the pockets and it gives the vibe of a pajama.

It is true that both Silvia and madeleine look fantastic. But I cannot help thinking that Madeleine's outfit looks like a luxurious pyjamas. But it fits her perfectly and maybe this is fashionable at the moment.
