On December 10, 2019, Queen Letizia attended the meeting of Board of Trustees of "Help Foundation Against Drug Addiction" (FAD), held at the headquarters of Spanish Confederation of Employers' Organizations in Madrid. At the meeting, the action plan for 2020 and a preview of the results of 2019 were presented. FAD's main mission is the prevention of drug use and other risk behaviors that impede or hinder the personal and social development of adolescents. The Queen is the honorary president of FAD. |
The black and gold combination looks great. The outfit gives the impression that she has another event that requires dressing up. Her hair is lovely. It shows how a precision cut can make a lot of difference. One of the causes that more information should be given and more diversity should be seen. Ana.
ReplyDeleteWell this is interesting...certainly striking but maybe a bit ‘costumey’. The towering heels and bare ankles make it look top heavy somehow. (V.M.)
ReplyDeleteFits her very well, original, maybe a bit too much
ReplyDeleteNo, it’s different, those pants, not a good look.
ReplyDeleteIndividually both the jacket and the unflattering length of the pants are a big miss. In combination they are a disaster!.
ReplyDeleteI agee whole heartedly. A rare mis for her
DeleteReminds me on Abba. Mars
ReplyDeleteAbba - didn't they have a spanish inspired hit about a certain "Fernando"? I don't recall it properly but there was something about "the Rio grand" and "a rifle in your hand". Maybe they played it on the radio and Letizia spontaneously put this clothes on? (Forgive me for being goofy - it's just the overload of work in the pre-christmas time...)
DeleteI can truely imagine that Letizia spontaneously put this clothes on. Probably there was an Abba-Fan in her closet and they had a good time. Mars
DeleteNo, no, no, noooooo
ReplyDeleteI don´t like this at all. 80s inspired top (bad enough, worst decade ever fashionwise) and those awful cropped trousers with silver heels. Yikes.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I don´t get why she would wear that for this occasion. For a private party maybe it had been ok (especially if bad-taste-themed), but not for a business meeting. Granted that women have some more freedom in their choices than men but they shouldn´t ignore the dress codes entirely. What ever happened to ladies´ business attire???
Give it some time, you will find one soon
DeleteJust be patient
DeleteEn serio ?
DeleteLove the queen. But this is a NO for me....Rochelle Cape Town
ReplyDeleteWith a little sharp scissor I'm sure, the black and white squiggle on her shoulders could in no time be cut away and it's like it was never to be seen. Her shoulders are broad enough to give an altogether tough and strong apparence.
ReplyDeleteWith those patches she reminds me a bit of someone selling homemade honey at some fancy medieval market.
Without the ornamental addition it would just be perfect, as perfect as the Queen normally always appears in public.
Love her pants, I would give a lot to get these ankles.

DeleteTop is horrible
ReplyDeleteRien n'est très flatteur .
ReplyDeleteI am in the minority here, and don't mind this look at all, actually I find it festive. Yes, it has a retro feel, but in an updated way. The simple color palette is what I find makes this outfit work. I like the ankle length trousers, they are in style currently and I think a full length pant would almost overwhelm this look. Hair and makeup perfect as usual. She always wears such great shoes!

Beam me up, Scotty.
ReplyDeleteYes! Very funny.
DeleteHahaha. I thought Star Treck too. More Jean Luc Picard though.
DeleteWhichever season of Star Treck we choose, this look it’s best left to SciFi movies. Too costumey to fit in a business environment (even if you aren’t a business person; maybe it was ‘bring your ridiculous clothes to work before you donate them’ day just kidding, don’t take it personally please).
Moreover, even ignoring the top, the heavy culottes require a different shoe. This combination feels forced the way it is. Perhaps a black shoe with more substance (not a silver stiletto) would have worked. Like Catherine’s Todd suede ones. Or something similar. But rather out of character for Letizia, she usually gets proportions right. No one is perfect in the end. / Laura
Oh well, there you go. I love it from top to toe. Hair is looking amazing as well - really beautiful glossy condition.
ReplyDeleteI agarre with the majority, I don't like any of it. A rare mis for her.

I looked at these photos multiple times, trying to like Queen Letizia's attire today. But, as Vanessa noted, her top reminds me of the 80's, or a "cowgirl" costume. And her thin frame becomes top-heavy with those winged shoulders, as V.M. observed. In my opinion, cropped pants are more appropriate during warmer months. On a positive note, her sleek hair style and her makeup are very nice.
ReplyDeleteI don't mind the pants, she is one of the few who can pull it off, more visibility on the golden shoes, OK. But this top makes her look impossibly disproportionate ("the Giant Woman with Double Shoulders") :-)). I love ornaments, but it should not disfigure her, this can't be the raison d'etre of fashion ... (Ann.)
ReplyDeleteIt is nice but not wow.
ReplyDeleteI quite liked the top in the first photos but I can see the Star Trek similarity :) I never like short trousers but generally like smart heels. However, don't think they match well here. Festive for sure, successful outfit, not really. However, hair and make up spot on as usual
ReplyDeleteI love Queen Letizia. I do not like this look at all.
ReplyDeleteNot a fan.... I don't think she always wears those culotte pants and length well. Her frame is so tiny and sometimes it just wears her.
ReplyDeleteShe is not tiny at all, she is 1,70, so average heigt and many people has pointed it out here. I do not know how tall you are...
DeleteMy first thought was "matador"!
ReplyDeleteAce Frehley
ReplyDeleteJust love the pants, perfect fit. The shoes really make the outfit work. The Queen's hair is so glossy and shiny, her makeup I love the neutral, natural tones. She is a beautiful lady.
ReplyDeleteOh no, Dynasty shoulders! I'm showing my age.
