Japanese Empress Masako turned 56. Masako Owada was born on December 9, 1963 at Toranomon Hospital in Minato, Tokyo. Masako became the empress of Japan in May 2019. On the occasion of that birthday, Imperial Household Agency of Japan released new photos of Empress Masako. The photos were taken at the residence of the Emperor and Empress in Tokyo. Empress Masako expressed appreciation for the way the Japanese public celebrated the enthronement of her husband Emperor Naruhito, saying the experience will help her assume new duties. |
Pretty lady and glorious silk fabric. Happy birthday, Empress!
ReplyDeleteEmpress Masako is a lovely lady. She and the Emperor seem very happy. Masako's gold suit is gorgeous, and her gold and pearl brooch is a perfect complement, along with her pearl necklace and earrings. Her hair is nicely styled. Happy Birthday, Empress Masako!
ReplyDeleteAn impressive lady totally worthy of the title "Empress". Happy Birthday.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree, Deadeggs! Masako is a true asset to Japan!
ReplyDeleteLovely lady! Happiest of birthday wishes to her and much happiness in the year ahead and years to come.

Beautiful, classy lady. Happy Birthday Empress! What a fantastic silk suit, the color is gorgeous. The pearls are a great adornment on this color suit. She just makes me smile, such elegance.

First a very happy 56th Birthday to Empress Masako of Japan. She looks stunning love the silk suit. Lovely pearl jewelry too.
ReplyDeleteEyes are the window to the soul and you can see her lovely soul shining thru, along with the wonderful smile, the elegant silk suit, and jewelry to accompany her inward beauty.
ReplyDeleteLovely suit and fabric, lovely jewels, lovely hairdo, perfect smile. Very elegant, very simple, very understated (in a positive way). When we talk about Japanese royals, we don't see any outfit from some famous designer or fashion house. Yet they tend to dress very nicely and that's what I like so much about them. What a refreshment! If you look at any public engagement of some European royal lady, all that media (all media, not only fashion media like this board) talk about is who's designed the outfit. The reason why that royal lady performed this engagement is always somewhere in the background and less important.
ReplyDeleteCouldn’t agree more. Lily A
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful and elegant woman. I find the court photos quite stiff and formal, but even so their love for each other shines through. (V.M.)
ReplyDeleteI do wish they would take photos in other places, other than these odd staged photos. I am sure the wall must be nice, but it looks like a pegboard, and the daughter had her photo taken in the same 'set'. Maybe this couple will modernize the way photo's are taken and do away with the staged sets.
ReplyDeleteShe looks much younger than her age.
ReplyDeleteShe looks so much happier since her enthronement. Glad to see that. May her future be the happiest part of her life. G
ReplyDeleteBeautiful silk suit, elegant and refined. She is all class. Love the added pieces of jewellery, the brooch is a lovely piece, always a fan of the pearls, gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteLovely ensemble, very, very elegant. Love the pearls too.
