Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and Hereditary Grand Duchess Stephanie of Luxembourg, are expecting a baby in May next year, the Grand Ducal Court has announced. In the announcement made by Grand Ducal Court, it is said that: The Grand Duke and Grand Duchess Maria are immensely pleased to announce that the Hereditary Grand Duke and Hereditary Grand Duchess are expecting Their first child. The birth is scheduled for May. The Grand Duke, the Grand Duchess and the members of both families are delighted with the news and share their great joy.

      Many people have fertility problems . As one of them , born when they didn’t have all the advances they have now , I am so happy for them . I find your comment very naive and I hope this doesn’t happen to anyone you love or yourself.

      Maybe they've tried for years? Maybe Stephanie had trouble getting pregnant? Or maybe there was something wrong with the Duke? Maybe they just wanted to wait? We'll never know.

      I'm so happy for them! And I do think Stephanie has been looking pregnant lately:):)

      @DianeBrown: Sorry, I can't agree. There's nothing 'innocent' about saying "At long last! What took them so long?" The words don't add up to any innocence. It is rude and crude to inquire about anyones family state, and especially cruel when referencing a couple who have been married for some years, given the POSSIBILITY of extreme heartache that could be involved in their efforts to start a family. There are no excuses for such questions or indiscretions at any time by anyone.
      I'm very happy for this couple and their families as I said before, and wish them the best.

      Yupppp I agree Royal Fan's comment was insensitive "What took so long?" First of all it's 2019 and many women decide to wait to have kids. Just because people get married doesn't mean they have to have kids early on - enough with that sexist stereotype. Also maybe she or he had issues maybe they'll explain but they really don't need too and it's none of our business. Diane Brown the "you seem a bit triggered..much a do about nothing" - you wanna talk about rude?? Fertility is a very sensitive issue for many women. It may be nothing to you but not to others.       Anon 5:18 we don't know that they had infertility issues. To insinuate that they did is...over reaching and tacky. She has always said she wanted to wait. Asking what took so long is no different than asking a couple who are dating why it took so long to get engaged! Or someone who takes along time to obtain a uni degree why it took so long. If royalty fan had said "I wonder if they had fertility problems or they must have had fertility problems ....took so long" THAT WOULD BE DIFFERENT. But she did not mention it at all! YOU brought it up... you made it "sensitive" yourself.

      I do congratulate them on the news! Fantastic news!

      VIelleicht wollten sie auch erstmal nur Zeit zu zweit verbringen und das Leben als Mann und Frau genießen. Ein Kind nimmt den Focus doch meist komplett von dem eigentlichen Paar. IM Grunde auch deren Angelegenheit, warum es "so lange" gedauert hat. Frieda

    I wonder if they had fertility issues. I'm so, so happy for them. Stephanie seems like a beautiful person and you can tell she's thrilled. I know it must be a lot of pressure to have children not just for your family but for heredity.

    Meine Güte, was für WUNDERVOLLE Neuigkeiten sind das !!!! Ich freue mich unendlich für die Beiden, daß das lange Warten nun ein Ende hat und wünsche der Großherzogin eine ganz leichte und unbekümmerte Schwangerschaft.
    Vor ein paar Tagen sah ich schon ein Bild von ihr und dachte, irgendwie sieht sie verändert aus... was für eine überwältigende Freude, daß dieses entzückende Paar nun bald sein erstes Baby in den Armen halten darf. Meine allerherzlichsten Glückwünsche !

      No.... look at the next post. She is wearing those black pants and they are still ugly. But that is a different issue versus being happy for them. You cannot compare our dislike of the pants with our happiness for them expecting a child. There is no comparison.

      I still don't like her slacks. But she is pregnant and comfort trumps style for the next 5 months. She is so completely radiant now that if she shows up in floral tent dresses with house slippers i will be here to cheer her on. I am that thrilled for het!
