On December 1, 2019, Queen Margrethe II, Prince Frederik, Prince Christian, Princess Isabella, Prince Vincent, Princess Josephine, Princess Marie, Prince Nikolai, Princess Benedikte, Princess Anne-Marie and Countess Ingrid attended the premiere of the ballet show "The Snow Queen" at the Tivoli Concert Hall. Queen Margrethe is the ballet's costume and stage decoration designer. The ballet is a new interpretation of the fairy tale "The Snow Queen", written by Danish author Hans Christian Andersen. |
The Queen’s outfit is interesting but I think the white stockings detract from the overall look. Perhaps she designed it to tie in with the ballet costumes? I love P. Marie’s coat! (V.M.)
ReplyDeleteQueen Margrethe is clearly full of joy at this event, and she looks beautifully theatrical as is appropriate in her role as costume designer. Princess Benedikte and Princess Ann-Marie appear happy to be in attendance. Their pearls are gorgeous against their black coats. The children look lovely. I hope they enjoyed the ballet. Compared to others in the photos, Princess Marie looks overly formal but very chic.
ReplyDeleteAnd I am full of joy to see the three sisters together. They're going to leave a great mark in royal history. It's a joy to behold.
DeleteAgree with deadeggs, wonderful sisterhood. Mars
DeleteJoann - If I'm not mistaken Anne-Marie is not a Princess, but still carries the title of Queen, unless the poster was referring to someone else.
ReplyDeleteVery true..H.M.Queen Anna-Maria of the Hellenes, princess of Denmark..
DeleteI think Princess Marie is beautifully dressed, not too much, not too little, but what would wear, if one was a royal, going to the ballet. The Queen, though I think she is a lovely woman (she has dachshunds, don't you know) has on the strangest outfit. The coat is short and furry, the skirt is different as is the lace top, or is it a dress, I cannot tell. The white stockings clash with everything even the shoes. The children look nicely dressed and Princess Benedikte and the Countess look fashionably well dressed. :)
ReplyDeletePrincess Maries coat is rather ugly the white on the front looks very military. Love Isabella's dress very pretty.
ReplyDeleteWomen have been wearing stockings for generations dating back to the baroque period. A good pair of stockings will add volumes to a woman's feminine mystique, Stockings are a fashionable lifestyle choice to ones attire and can really give a formal look like Queen Margrethe accomplished. I think Princess Marie's attire goes well with the other ladies formal look! You go ladies.....
ReplyDeleteI knew the handsome guy on P. Marie's right side is prince Nikolai, but is the young beauty Countess Ingrid, P. Benedikte's grandchild ?
ReplyDeleteA busy day in Denmark for P. Marie, first a church concert (the AIDS-Foundation) and then to ballet with her Danish family (the Snow Queen).

Beautiful photos! They obviuosly enjoyed that event and one can see that!
ReplyDeleteThe Queen really is A flamboyant personality and dressed likewise!
ReplyDeleteThe Queen is wearing the same dress like one year ago - at the same event. :)
ReplyDeleteWell the DRF is out in force to support the Queen. I like the skirt part if the queens dress, the upper part looks odd. Everyone else looks great.
ReplyDeleteLa plus belle et la plus classe est la Princesse Marie, comme toujours
ReplyDeleteTo each their own. For me it's Princess Benedikte who come out on top with "class".
DeleteIf you didnot add the “ comme toujours” I would have agreed with you, Just for today.
DeleteI assume you are french, So you are allowed to be A bit chauvinistic.
But in my eyes She is mosttimes modestly dressed.
Happy Denmark :) very nice photos!
