| This year, The Crown Prince Couple's Awards Ceremony was held in Odeon Music and Theatre Hall in Odense. Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary presented the Crown Prince Couple's 2019 Awards to the awardees. This year, Danish singer and producer JADA (also known as Emilie Molsted) and FRAK, a social organization for young people in Copenhagen were deemed worthy of The Crown Prince Couple's Stardust (Stjernedrysprisen 2019) award. The awards consist of four awards, namely, Culture, Social and two Cultural Stardust awards. (Crown Princess Mary wore a new bespoke gown by Danish fashion designer Soeren le Schmidt.) |

It’s an interesting design, and it fits well, but I’m not sold on the scarf/cape element. It looks a bit like it’s strangling her. I also think that dusty pink isn’t her best colour. (V.M.)

DeleteI think Crown Prince Frederick still has a youthful side to him and his style of dressing reflects that. However, when he attends more formal events his style of dressing reflects that.
DeleteI think it is nice to go out side of the box and not wear primary colors all of the time. Its nice to be different and wear more unique colors on occasion!!!
DeleteWow CPss Mary looks like she just stepped out of Vogue, the gown is also a very good color for her. Her special accessory Frederik looks very nice too.

DeleteBUT bad note again for CP Frederik's suit. He must swallow his pride and urgently get in touch with Prince Daniel's tailor. Maybe CPss Mary has to take the matter into hand.

DeleteMary looks wonderful! I like the unusual, almost retro design even thought I'm in two minds about the cape sleeve. However when you see it from the back, the draping is beautiful and technically flawless, and that is testimony to the cut, design and especially the type of fabric and its weight. I love the off-set chokered collar, the square-pleated length with a slight train, and her up-do, jewellery and make-up are right on point. Small quibble: I would have preferred to see this lovely dress in another colour. White would have been stunning and regal, but too formal for this event. Otherwise, brava!

Retro design. Well yes, now that you come to mention it. I'm beginning to see images of Lauren Bacall and Ava Gardner. As soon as I have a chance, I'm going to take a look on the net at other work by this Danish designer, Soeren Le Schmidt.

DeleteLove the beautiful draping of this dress but like Anon 1:59, I think there's an element of the collar looking as if it is choking/strangling her. I also agree that the colour is not the most flattering on her, though to be honest Mary looks good in every colour. Hair is gorgeous--formal with just enough softening strands to prevent it being severe but without the straggly effect. They are a lovely couple
ReplyDeleteCP Mary looks regal, graceful and so elegant. Beautiful gown, love the cape/scarf, the colour suits her perfectly. The gown falls and flows perfectly on movement. Hair and makeup are spot on, earrings are divine. I loved her gown choice for this event. She looks stunning.

DeleteI agree. The colour just makes her fade away. I would have loved to see this in one of those colours that make her glow. I also think that she looks better in crisper fabrics.
ReplyDeleteIf somebody asked me if I liked this colour standalone, separately, I would have said No. But for this dress and for this occasion I find it perfect. The reason is that the style of this dress is celebratory/festive. This same dress in red or royal blue or any other vivid color - and Mary would outshine everyone and also the occasion. This is an award ceremony not for Mary, not for some non-personal occasion but for other people, amont others women. It is those people who should be in the centre of interest. Mary honours them with a perfectly elegant and solemn look, but she does not want to draw that much attention and "steal the show", so to speak. So I like this combination, festive dress but subdued colour. (And as for the hair whisps, we had a discussion about hair whisps the other day - here they are nice, because they are thin, non-dominant and very well made.)
