On November 12, 2019, King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden hosted the annual Representationsmiddag (Representatives Dinner 2019) at the Royal Palace in Stockholm. Among guests of the dinner, there were representatives from the diplomatic corps, the Riksdag, the Swedish Government, and people from science, sport, business and culture worlds. The guests were welcomed by The King and Queen, Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel, Prince Carl Philip, Princess Sofia and Princess Christina in the Vita Havet Assembly Rooms. The dinner was served in Karl XI's Gallery. |
Wow and more wow. Sofia's dress is gorgeous and fantastic and when you add the tiara---just superb. I very much like Victoria's dress--elegant and fitted instead of the baggy things she sometimes wears but just wish it was in a stronger colour. And I love the colour of Queen Silvia's dress but the top is very fussy--is it a shawl? In any event, the top spoils the look for me. Mustn't forget a mention for the lovely purple and silver colours worn by Princess Christina. Lovely outfits all round
ReplyDeleteI don't remember seeing CP Victoria more beautiful than at this event. Her gown fits her like a glove and accentuates her curves nicely. It's neutral color complements her complexion. Her make up is perfect. Although her tiara is not one of my favorites, it looks stunning with her hairstyle, and those fabulous earrings. Queen Silvia's is beautiful in her ruby gown, though I don't quite understand the tulle wrap. Perhaps she is sensitive to the cooler temperatures. Her tiara and earrings are perfect for her hairstyle. I love the color of Princess Sofia's gown but I'm not quite sold on the style or the fit of the bodice. The King and the two Princes look very dapper. I love the way Carl Phillip's hair curls around his ear.
ReplyDeleteGreat color on the Queen but I can’t see some of the details of the dress under the shawl. Victoria looks beautiful in this champagne color. I like the details and it is flattering on her figure. I like the color of Sofia’s dress but not the print for this occasion. Her hair and make- up are flawless. Christina looks great in this purple dress.

Victoria's dress is very nice but it could have done without the train.
ReplyDeleteLove love Princess Sofia’s look!!! She is branching out a bit. Something different anyways Love the print of the gown. The jewels and make up and hair are exquisite. She looks fantastic. Victoria looks good. Her gown is ok I like her in colors. The queen and Christina look lovely. Awesome night for the royal ladies!! Amanda
DeleteSuch a nice family (I credit the Queen for keeping them close, as I understand they truly are like a regular family). Victoria looks best, such a beautiful young lady. She does know what fits her after all (it’s perhaps taken some time, but there’s clear evidence she is on the right track).
ReplyDeleteNot a fan of Sophia’s dress. But she looks good in it.

Love these looks tonight!!! Everyone looks awesome. Princess Sofia looks lovely in green. Love the revamped tiara base. And it looks like her earrings might be new. Love Victoria and the Queen also!!! Jeri
ReplyDeleteNow this is finally a perfect dress for Victoria: elegant, slim. It fits wonderful.
ReplyDeleteWov, Victoria look fantastic. Very beautiful makeup, fitting dress and her six button tiara is very nicely styled into her hair. One of her best appearances.
ReplyDeleteSofia's makeup also looks very good. Her dress has beautiful color but the shoes were of wrong shade of green. This dress's neckline scream for the necklace.
Silvia's dress is hidden under her shawl but I like bright colors.

Agree in all points!
DeleteSofia's dress looks cheap..
ReplyDeleteanja: true!
DeleteLove, love, love all of them. I don't know who is more beautiful princess Sofia or Carl Phillp. Together a knock out pair. I love the colour and fabric of princess Sofia's dress but think the style much too fussy for that fabric. Has anyone noticed how groomed princess Victoria Always looks on more formal occasions. Her tiara is also not my favourite but then I don't like button tiara's much. Her dress suits her and is sublime, SOOO!! much better than all those fussy retro prints that all the Royal ladies in all the countríes have taken to wearing lately.
ReplyDeleteThis is a bit of a cool dress on Victoria, at a first glance it looked as if it was knitted! The colour is a bit dull, I could have imagined it in a darker grey, would have looked stunning with the jewels. Sofia's dress is nice, a bit ill-fitting over the bust, but with the perfect colour and I love the sleeves. Silvia is her typical self with perfest everything hidden by a shawl. Jippie, Christina is out and about, looking lovely! Gents are all handsome.
ReplyDeleteI can't be 100% sure, of course, but I think that Victoria's gown is made of a knit fabric.
DeleteVictoria looks marvellous. It's lovely to see her wearing the six button tiara after such a long time.
ReplyDeleteOn a plaisir à voir toutes ces dames très élégantes, chacune dans son style !!!
ReplyDeleteI´m totally blown away by how gorgeous Victoria looks. She looks radiant, and well rested, her make-up is perfect and tiara + hair fabulous. I like her dress as well. Sleek, well fitted, well structured and showing off how trim she is.
ReplyDeleteSilvia looks like a queen. So regal. I don´t mind her shawl, in fact I think it blends into her outfit perfectly and makes her sash look pinkish which looks very nice.
Sofia looks beautiful from the neck up, but I don´t like her outfit at all. The bodice is ill-fitting and the shoes clash in colour. The fabric´s texture is a bit much with everything else going on, it really needed a very simple design.
Christina´s dress is nice, but the neckline is not flattering on her.
And as a last little remark, I wish the ladies hadn´t been handed that white sheet of paper (I assume it´s the evening´s programme or the dinner´s menue or something), but it looks totally out of place.
How wonderful to see Princess Christina in the limelight again after her serious illness.
ReplyDeleteAll the ladies look super-glamorous! The teal green of Sofia's gown matching the stones in her tiara gives a stunning effect -- but at the same time I have to say that for me, animal prints are not a good choice for evening. Few women could wear Victoria's gown successfully -- I think it's knitted, and knits cling -- but she totally rocks it. I love the deep cerise hue of Silvia's gown. Absolutely gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI strongly dislike Princess Sofia's dress. It looks like velour and I don't think an animal print (even though muted) should ever be worn for a formal event. It's also ill fitting. She's gorgeous and could look so much better in a more simple, structured gown. DMP
ReplyDeleteWas um Himmels Willen trägt Sofia? Pannesamt??
Kein Winner in meinen Augen.
I quite like your observations regarding Sofia´s gown. I wasn´t impressed with the fabric either but couldn´t quite put my finger on why. I really like velvet, but this seems to be the cheap version, I think it´s a knit fabric rather than woven, and it is really lacking the stability needed to create a well-structured gown (or any garment, really). I had another look at Sofia´s V-neck, which isn´t a proper V like you rightly pointed out, because the order on the one side and the sash pin on the other are already too heavy for the fabric to keep its shape. It´s dragged down and thus looks sloppy. I also think that the shoulder pads are irritating for the same reason.
DeleteI agree with you that the colour is stunning on her, and is well-matched with her tiara.
Princess Sofia just looks stunning to me. Her tiara with the green of that dress just really looks fabulous. Wow. She can wear that color. I like the dress. She kind of stepped out of her normal solid color comfort zone. And it isn't any worse than some other floral print formal dresses I have seen in the last couple of years. Kind of understated. She looks really good. Victoria looks lovely. I like her dress but don't really like the train. Silvia and Christina look lovely and appropriate. Maxine
ReplyDeleteAll four Royal ladies look great, could not done better myself.
ReplyDeleteLove what Victoria is wearing. Her gown is exquisite and suits her perfectly. Hair and makeup are spot on. This is the first time I have really loved an evening gown she has wore. Her diamond earrings are stunning. Sophia's gown is beautiful. Love the emerald tiara, and earrings, diamond bracelet is gorgeous. Her makeup is stunning, soft and natural.
ReplyDeletetj@Beth - alles gesagt - Danke!
