Queen Maxima of The Netherlands is making a two day working visit to Pakistan in her role as the UN Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development upon the invitation of the Pakistani government. The Queen is discussing progress made on providing access to financial services with the aim of improving the economic position of people in Pakistan. On the first day of her visit to Pakistan, the Queen met with Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi in Islamabad. (Queen Maxima wore a new midi textured silk dress by Zeus + Dione.) |
Oh no, drab makes the day! This is a most unfortunate combination of colour and style for Maxima.
ReplyDeleteBut considering she is in Pakistan, well, maybe it is the right choice. As for the hair....a simple up-do would be so much more flattering.
I agree that Pakistan is not the place for wearing faantasy. I also think it is the place for a more disciplined hair style.
ReplyDeleteThis is an unfortunate color and style. I gave up where the hair is concerned. She makes the effort for state occasions, I would say.
ReplyDeleteIncomprehensible choice!
ReplyDeleteNice dress, for the region. Not over stated, her hair maybe up?
ReplyDeleteDull and drab was my immediate reaction upon seeing the first photo, but on further reflection, I think it is a good choice for the event - a working style dress that doesn't call attention to any more than the job she is there to do for the UN. Conservative and functional suitable to her host country. This isn't an event for glamour, or to play the role of 'Queen' (she isn't a Queen in Pakistan anyway, nor is she representing The Netherlands) so it fits the bill perfectly. And if it's silk, I think it might look quite nice close-up or in person.

Máxima is neither Queen of The Netherlands. She is Princess of the Netherlands and Princess of Orange Nassau. Informally adressed as Queen Máxima of The Netherlands.
DeleteI agree.
DeleteHer hair needs saving!

Yes, and she has plenty of money and people to help her save it.

I don't agree. Her hair gives everything a more casual note. It compensates the 70's granny-look of her dress. Katrin
DeleteI like this outfit and the shoes are good as well . As for the hair a pony tail or a simple up do would be perfect.
ReplyDeleteI actually like this dress quite a bit; for me the colors are understated rather than drab; the silhouette is pleasing, the vertical stripes are slimming, and the overall look is uncluttered (always noteworthy and praiseworthy when it comes to Maxima). Her fashion choices on this trip will be interesting.
ReplyDeleteThe dress is okay, the accessories are much better shoes and handbag, Hair she could do so much with it. Such a beautiful woman
ReplyDeleteAgree with you Ava Pittman.
DeleteNadie puede estar bien con este pelo, el vestido soso, poco favorecedor pero mejor que cuando va recargada.
ReplyDeleteLike the dress worn by Crown Princess Victoria, the other day, why choose such dull and drab colours. I know this is a working visit but business like need not mean depressing. Bring back our old Queen Maxc of the vibrant colour clashes and OTT hats
