Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume, Hereditary Grand Duchess Stephanie, Prince Felix, Princess Claire, Prince Guillaume and Princess Sibilla of Luxembourg, Prince Lorenz, Princess Astrid, Princess Maria-Laura and Prince Laurent of Belgium, Crown Prince Pavlos and his daughter Princess Olympia of Grece, Princess Beatrice and her fiance Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, Prince Christian and Princess Alessandra of Hanover, Prince Philippe and Princess isabelle of Liechtenstein, Prince Charles, Princess Camilla, Maria Carolina and Maria Chiara de Bourbon Siciles were present at the wedding. |
Not a great fan of this wedding dress I'm afraid. When I first saw it in the first picture it resembled a table cloth. Also just to make a side point, since when is Camilla a princess?
ReplyDeleteIt is Prince Charles and Princess Camilla de Bourbon des Deux-Siciles
Delete-Louise
Since She got married with prince Charles of Bourbon and two Sicilies.
DeleteIt reminds me of a quilt. It looks like she may have lost an earring in one of the pictures but hopefully she just took it off. They make a handsome couple and I wish them well.

DeleteTo the Unknown (btw what is the note underneath all of the comments that this blog doesn't publish contributions by unsigned, hence Anonymous or Unknown people) well again: to the Unknown 10/20/2019 at 3:11 am : Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall IS Princess of Wales automatically as the wife of the Prince of Wales, Royal title being given to the heir of the throne for centuries. You sit by your PC . Look it up if you are interested in royal circles that is part of the Royal "alphabet" if you will.
DeleteSad to say, the wedding gown looks as if she cut her grandmother's quilt into strips and sewed them together in an odd pattern, with a strange hemline. She must have loved the gown, she chose it. Surprised at Beatrice wearing such an 'everyday' frock in pale colors, instead of something dressy, then adding stark black shoes.... JT
ReplyDeleteThe Charles and Camilla referenced are Prince and Princess of Bourbon and Two Sicilies. Not the British royals.
ReplyDeleteI don’t love this as a bridal gown with the lace capelet, and agree that it’s too much lace. But the strapless gown underneath is gorgeous! (V.M.)
Thank you. Was not familiar with this couple..
DeleteI will be the outlier, and say I loved it! It suits her, and the capelit is a cover up for church. She probably removed it for the reception. Handsome hubby!
DeleteWow, what a spectacular wedding gown! Truly unique and beautiful! Oscar de la Renta has always been one of my favorite designers.
ReplyDeleteAgreed, a superb wedding gown. Excellent choice on the bride's part.
DeleteWhat a beautiful one of a kind dress, and although I understand the thought behind wearing a capelet, it really distracts from the gorgeous gown. I don't like the way she has placed the tiara, it looks rather unflattering, and doesn't seem to go very well with the outfit, I think a drop veil, covering only the back and pinned to a lower chignon, would have been so much more elegant. On the other hand, Sassa De Osma looks as exquisite as always.
ReplyDeleteTell me she did not lose that one earring.
ReplyDeleteMagnifique !

I love this modern interpretation of a lace wedding gown.
ReplyDeletePicture 4 missed earring right ear : ) Like to see, the Protocol of all the Ladys from awake to stay ready for this event. They all looks nice.
ReplyDeletefor me the wedding dress is ugly.
ReplyDeleteJessas....
Princess Marie-Chantal did not attend. She's her daughter Maria-Olympia (30 years younger).
DeleteMargot

ReplyDeleteDear Mimi, love the title you give of Barbies for the two sisters. Spot on. These "Royals", if you can put them in this category, try too hard to be noticed and important (being pushed by their mother, no doubt). And their outfits are always too showy and in bad taste.
DeleteMimi, it is definitely NOT okay and potentially harmful to comment on people’s body size, especially if they’re 16-year olds. Please consider reviewing your comment.
DeleteLouise
Mimi and deadeggs, you both are absolutely right!
-Elisabeth-
Elisabeth, ohne Monarchie gibt es gar nichts "royales". Die scheinbaren Titel sind nur noch Namens-Zusätze.
DeleteFrench Royalty, didnt know they still exist!
ReplyDeletethe wedding gown is very elegant.
i like princess Beatric choice of designer 'the vampire's wife' very Hallowen
ReplyDeleteI love the bridal gown. Different than usual and therefore very special.
ReplyDeleteCutest picture, #11 two little pairs of shoes peeking out from behind mom's dress.
ReplyDeleteYes, it is absolutely precious 😊
DeleteAgree, so funny.
ReplyDeleteThat’s delightful! I couldn’t have said it better (and since French isn’t my first language, I wouldn’t have even tried!). But it perfectly reflects my thoughts.

ReplyDeleteThe bride's dress is just amazing. Nothing else to say.

Wowza, lots of elegance amongst the guests! I don't know the identities of some that are standouts, but Stephanie continues her sartorial upgrade with her crisp red and white ensemble. Claire's coat is a beautiful color, but much too long imo.
ReplyDeleteStunning gown! Great interpretation of Honiton and Battenburg historic lace; I can imagine the diamond tiara having a fabulous glitter in lights of candles and chandeliers. Princes Astride of Belgium's magnificent golden baroque-frame with miniature royal portraits purse was the highlight for me! WOW.
ReplyDeleteI like this wedding gown it is different. Pss Olympia is a tall lady,so she can carry it off well. Lovely couple. The guest's looked nice, but Pss Sybilla of Luxembourg is the winner here,so far one only seen a few of the guest's,sadly we can't see them all. Would like to see the gown from the reception.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately their is nothing pretty, soft or feminine looking about this gown at all
ReplyDeleteEin bezaubernde Braut in einem sehr schönes Brautkleid !!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite so far Sassa de Osma, always elegant.
ReplyDeleteI agree.
DeleteWhen I first saw this wedding dress I thought of Swan Lake.
ReplyDeleteWedding gown is one of the most beautiful ever!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful design and magnificent material!
Well done!
ReplyDeleteWhat happened to her earring? I. The closer up picture she is only wearing one....
ReplyDeleteLuna
About the leafy pattern of the lace:
ReplyDeleteIn the famous painting of Napoleon's coronation the coronation robes contain lots of embroidery. The picture of the painting I have found is small, so I can't be sure but it seems that among the embroideries there are also similar leaves. If so, the pattern has been chosen on purpose - and not only a coincidence or the designer's whim.
Margot
Vous avez tout dit !
DeleteIn that fourth photo she's missing an earring. I hope they found it.
ReplyDeleteEuropa
Wow. That is some dress. I'm not sure if I like it, but I sure won't forget it.
