The Duke and Duchess of Sussex visited Tembisa township

On October 2, 2019, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex visited the Youth Employment Services (Yes) Center in Tembisa township, part of the organisation launched by President Cyril Ramaphosa in April 2018. During their final day in Johannesburg the couple will also meet Graca Machel, widow of Nelson Mandela, a national figure Harry met during a 2015 visit to South Africa. Later the Duke and Duchess will attend a creative industries and business reception at the residence of Britain's High Commissioner to South Africa Nigel Casey.

  1. I know it´s meant to be a shirt dress, but it looks like a nightie. The hem in particular is not very attractive.

Agreed, a straighter hemline would have been much more attractive and a more casual shoe with this style of dress would have been preferred.

  2. Super nice … these red earrings with the white dress. It seems they have the right advisors now they will listen to. The visit to Africa was apparently a success. Now finish the cat war and then it‘s running smoothly for the Royals.

Not sure what you really mean to say. Maybe you’re translating from a different language, but it’s a rather unusual choice of words. Hopefully not another catty remark just to show you can hide behind a pen name and say unkind and unwarranted remarks without any understanding. Looking inside your heart before posting something might help.

    2. I realize from your last sentence that you understood me very well. In such cases, I also prefer to use my mind instead of my heart.

  3. Lovely outfit! I like her still more now she has gained some extra kilograms after Archie!

  4. Very nice crisp dress, personally, and although I like the shoes, I would've worn wedges, or sandals. Love the earrings. All in all she looks good and pretty.

I totally agree, like this outfit a lot but like you said, the wedges could have been even better choice. - Siri

Agree. Like the shoes but not with this dress. Earrings are great

No to the No, long shirt dress does not suit her. And she has worn only 3 colors on this trip; black, white/biege and dark green

    2. Mo, Not entirely accurate, she has worn, white, cream, beige, dark green, khaki, black & white print, blue and white print, navy blue & periwinkle blue, to the best of my recollection.

  6. Il me semble qu'elle a déjà porté cette jolie robe lorsque avec Harry, ils ont présenté pour la première fois le petit bout de chou Archie ; c'était au château de Windsor... Toujours de superbes boucles d'oreilles !!!

I like this shirt dress. It looks clean, crisp and cool for the hot African sun, and the duchess wears it well. Some may say that it looks like sleepwear, but if this is a way of combining bedroom attire with day wear, it's fine by me. One could also say that it equally looks like an elongated mans shirt, which it's supposed to hence the name. Her earrings are nice too. Well done.

  8. Is Meghan pregnant again? All the dresses she wore let me think that... And Harry said that they wanted 2 children... And Meghan is 38...

    1. Why is so important to you whether she is pregnant or not? Won't you be irritated if people were constantly wanting to know about your most private circumstances? Please, stop being nosy....you will find out in due time. It's rude to speculate about such things, and BTW women are a little more than baby making machines.

  9. Why do so many women , not just royals, (i. e. Queen Mathilde, Dss of Sussex) wear belts so high above their waistline? It shortens their torso and makes them look heavier than they are.

That's because they both have a naturally short torso and long legs -- their waistline actually sits quite high. Picture number 6 of her against the bright blue wall is fantastic as a photograph and she looks beautiful in it, too.

  10. At last a dress with a length that is flattering and appropriate shoes to go with. I have to disagree with Cherry Blossom that wedges would have improved it--sandals possibly as long as they didn't have chunky straps. Earrings are great. I would prefer the dress without the shirt tail to be sure and the long strands of hair do nothing for her but it's still one of the better looks from this tour. Easy winner for me is the dress she wore to meet Archbishop Tutu

  11. Ah, this dress fits so MUCH better across her bodice. sleeves and hips. I think it is overly long, though. Well, it will all get sorted out, no doubt, and hopefully shortened. I love the earrings. And now that I look closely, maybe Unknown 7:06 is correct - another baby on the way?

  12. She wears her belt too high I think. I'm not fond of the hem line or the shoes.

    1. I agree about her belt being worn too high. It accentuates the fact that she has not yet returned to her pre baby figure. If she wore it at her waist I think it would take the attraction away from her extra weight. Glad she is taking her time to get her figure back in her own time..

Like this white dress the length is good ,but do not care for the shirt tail hem.

  14. A few comments on the tour in general;
    * Why high heel shoes when lower would have been more appropriate?
    * Why so often a belted dress? Unbelted perhaps would have been better
    * There was little, except the earrings that paid tribute to the local culture. A wonderfully bright dress at one or more of the occasions would have been a winner.

Shirt dresses are a flattering style for D.Meghan and this one is a winner. Good colour, good length. The earrings are a fun pop of colour too. She seems to like neutrals and they suit her. I like the shoes well enough but something lower would have worked too. All in all I think she’s done well on this tour with her wardrobe choices. After all she’s a new mom whose body is still changing. (V.M.)

The Duchess looks nice, but I a not a fan of shirt dresses, the hemline I am not keen on. The placement of the belt is too high.
