On October 02, 2019, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge met with Aga Khan IV (Prince Shah Karim Al Hussaini) for a special event at the Aga Khan Centre in London, ahead of their official visit to Pakistan later this month. At the Aga Khan Centre, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge met a range of people from Pakistan, including DJ and Producer. The Duchess wore a silk-georgette maxi dress from AROSS GIRL X SOLER. |
Kate's teal dress with green belt is lovely, and her earrings are gorgeous. William looks sharp, as usual. They are quite a team and I enjoy seeing them interact with whatever group they visit. Their expressions and gestures often mirror each other. They are in sync.
ReplyDeleteShe looks exquisite, I love the color, the fluidity of the dress, the length and the contrasting belt, I would've have used a different color shoe, perhaps in the color of the belt, but I am more adventurous:-) . She is so well, advised when meeting groups of different cultures, always appropriate. I read somewhere that the earrings cost about 6 € ... that's what we call a good bang for your buck.

ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely, flowing dress in such a nice rich color. I like the length because she can easily walk without tripping on it yet it allows good coverage. Her earrings complement it beautifully. Catherine looks very tired, I think.

ReplyDeleteVery pretty dress and bravo to Kate for choosing a style and length that shows respect to the people and place where she visited. Earrings are by a Pakistani brand and not a surprise that Kate chose them. This dress is a beautiful color and I love how the belt, shoes, and purse are a another green but so complimentary. Chic and respectful.
ReplyDeleteLove the colour of this dress, quite like the styling but not keen on this length with foraml shoes. A midi length would have looked much better though realise this may have been chosen for cultural reasons. The earrings are just fantastic. Really looking forward to this upcoming tour.
ReplyDeleteI love her dress, would love it even more if it was a few inches shorter, although it wouldn't have the same effect. Green really suits her.
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely, floaty look on Kate. You can tell that she is wearing it show respect and this silhouette works wonderfully on her. Her hair is on point.
ReplyDeleteOh no Kate, no! Colour is absolutely yours, but style is a no-no. A nighty for granny. the fabtic looks synthetical. Maybe it would look better at knee length...even if I like a slender apperarance better than a chubby one....in her case, I'd like to serve her a good & healthy German "Butterbrot" at times.. Frieda
ReplyDeleteThe length showed respect to those she went to see. So for me that is big YES.
DeleteIndeed!
DeleteHi you both, I realize this "respect-thingy", but to respect to whomsoever, the lengths is what I dislike.I mean decide weather it should be knee lenth or floor-lenght, but if you decide to go in a ankle-lenght dress, then please avoid to combine this with pumps. Ankle-length dresses with pumps looks - in my opinion - kind of "as intendet but failed". Then rather pointy ballerinas. Frieda
DeleteWoooow, this is beautiful (and culturally sensitive). The colors, the gathers at the neck, the floatiness -- yum. And the earrings are superb with it. Would love to see this dress in other delicate colors as well, and in both knee-and mid-calf lengths (sometimes you can't get enough of a good thing -- well, I can't anyway 😀).
ReplyDeleteThis dress is so so. It's not bad but not very good either. The length is odd and sleeves too short. Black pumps are not the good choice with it. But I really like Kate's new straighter hair style. -Siri
ReplyDeleteAgree about the sleeves. Had not seen it but now that you've mentioned it, I think you are right.
DeleteGood look, however why a long dress for this event?
ReplyDeleteBecause she's paying respect to the country that she's about to tour in and respecting it's culture.
DeleteThe dress is a lovely color and it flows beautifully. However, I find it an awkward length for day time. It could work with flat shoes but I would have preferred a midi length. Nonetheless, I'd understand if she was trying to go for a more conservative look.
ReplyDeleteThe dress style while pretty, is a bit 'blah' to me. I'd have loved to have seen some unique style features, though I suppose it makes for a well fitted, simple dress. However I do like the neck detailing and the beautiful colour combinations. The length is culturally respectful to her hosts, and I'm looking forward to what her wardrobe will look like on her upcoming trip to the host country.

Lovely teal dress the earrings are lovely too. I think her hair is not as full and shiny as it usually is. Nice interaction with the Aga Khan.
ReplyDeleteThe dress is too long and frumpy, the belt should be wider, like on the model.
ReplyDeleteA regal appearance, both of them!
ReplyDeleteShe looks appropriate, but there is something about the fabric that looks rather cheap (scarcely worth over £800!). Looks like a worse fabric than many high street brands employ. But the colour works well with her skin tone and her hair is nicely styled. I assume the very long midi length is intended to show respect for the local traditions in Pakistan. I am sure she will choose some local brands for the actual tour.

wonderful outfit! love it! This is my absolute favorite colour!
ReplyDeleteThere's no doubt kate's taste is excellent!! These two different kinds of green match each other. Elegant and gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteHome run Kate! What a beautiful color, and the different tones of green for the belt and shoes look lovely. Those earrings are such a great nod to Pakistan and their upcoming tour. I know some don't like the length, but she's paying respects to culture. Can't wait to see those upcoming tour looks, as her updated look is spectacular!

Duchess Catherine looks so feminine the dress is whimsical not too business like Pakistan is an interesting country having visited there in the 80's the people their will love her.Such a good pair of ambassadors for the U.K
ReplyDeleteThis colour... OUTSTANDING!! It looks fantastic on Kate. Wonderful choice. The fabric looks beautiful too, elegant and flowing.
ReplyDeleteI do not really like ankle-length dresses and skirts; gives me a feeling of 'being afraid for high water'. But she can have it and I understand why she didn't go for a floor-length. Plus that the bodice doesn't do anything for her. It makes her look very thin and skinny (no bodyshaming, just an honest observation).
So at one side I love this dress, and on the other hand I'm like: Hmmm...
Ravissante dans cette robe que je trouve un peu trop longue; Kate a de jolies jambes, il faut qu'elle le montre ... Sublimes ces nouvelles boucles d'oreilles; je lui envie !!!
ReplyDeleteShe does have lovely legs - and she shows them on plenty of occasions. She has judged that to do so here would be culturally insensitive.
DeleteI just love this look. The dress is so feminine and becoming color to Catherine. I would love to wear that dress also myself, teal is my favorite color.
ReplyDeleteLovely dress - love the colour and the drape and flow of the fabric. The earrings are beautiful. Her hair is fine although personally I don't love the new shade.
ReplyDeleteWell done, Kate. The color combination of the dress is beautiful, and the silhouette is very respectful, setting the right tone for their visit to Pakistan in a few weeks time. Kate's $8 Zeen earrings are not only a nod to Pakastan, but give the ultimate example in high/low dressing, and she completely nails a monochromatic outfit--head to toe.
ReplyDeleteThe Duchess looks lovely, the colour is pretty and suits her well. The fall and flow of the dress is spot on. The belt lets the outfit down. I preferred how it was displayed in profile picture on another site, it looked so much better. The top half of the dress is a bit matronly looking that is my only quibble. Love the colour of the accessories. Her earrings are nice, but for me they are more fun wear. If she had a pair of emerald earrings this would have sealed the deal, how fantastic that would have looked.
ReplyDeleteLove the color but the dress itself is meh - Capt. Marvel
ReplyDeleteNice event, gorgeous colour/dress. Handsome prince too; nice suit and colour.
