  1. Now that is a stunning outfit on Stephanie really so flattering. The skirt could be a tad longer but she looks smashing. Mathilde's outfit is like a matron of the 1950's with drapes just where she does not need them. If that outfit is Nathan then outer space is where we must send him never mind a desert Island!

    1. Do not agree. Mathilde looks very good in this outfit, not martronly at all.

    2. Lol -- poor Natan, first it's exile to an island, then it's outer space 😁. I have to admit, there seem to be a lot more thumbs-down reactions to Natans than thumbs-up. When it comes to this dress, the main hangup I have with it is the way the autumnal leaves -- thanks to the optical illusion created by the print -- appear to be hovering over the fabric, and their super-bright color against deep grey amplifies the effect. Honestly, at first glance I thought they _were_ hovering over the fabric, on little wires or something. That said, Mathilde's overall look is so perfectly put together and endearingly ladylike that I can overlook the hovering leaves (and the tummy). You just have to love her.

  2. Stephanie needs a stylist! She has a lovely face and hair and today she. Looks like she’s dressed and made up for a 1940’s dress up party. Such an aging look on such a young woman. Her dress is ill fitting and too short, and the ornament on her hair is too small and costume like.

    1. At least they have finally hired a make-up artist for her. The problem with flapper style dresses is that they don't suit curvy women. You need the body of Josephine Baker to look good in them. And, dear Stephanie, if you are going for the flapper style, combine it with the characteristic bell hat. This thingy on your head is ugly and silly.

  3. I like this dress on Q. Mathilde. It’s an interesting print and I think its slightly relaxed fit suits her very well. P. Stephanie is a pleasant surprise! Her hair and makeup are beautiful, her hat is pretty and fun, and I like how she’s tied in the colour with her shawl. A minor quibble - the dress is too short. (V.M.)

  6. My goodness...Stephanie has really upped her game! Full kudos to her. She looks wonderful here. I'd have liked her skirt to be a little longer perhaps, to just above the knee but somehow it looks OK and proportionate to her figure. Mathilde also looks good and I love the autumn colours of her dress and fabric. I also like the dress style. It is a smart outfit. Well done to both ladies.

  7. Stephanie's hair and make-up look great. I appreciate the pop of color in the shawl and hat but I am not a fan of this hat. I like the grey and marigold combination of Mathilde's dress but the fit could be better.

  10. Unusual style for Stephanie, I am not really enthousistic in spite of the effort, skirt probably too short for her; she is smaller than I had imagined, Mathilde is tall.

  11. I really like Mathilde's dress, the color combination and the 3D flowers are very original, the complements are spot on, playing with both the colors of the flowers, and the hat is just the right size.
Stephanie's dress, is disappointing at many levels, she generally wears clothes that are too small for, but in this instance the top is just not relaxed, is too loose and boxy, and the skirt is way too short, it could have worked by sizing it to her figure, her hair and makeup looks very good.

    1. I agree! Somebody must be doing Stephanie's makeup this week. It seems that Mathilde is taking over mentoring Stephanie. It is probably difficult for both Stephanie and her mother-in-law to work together - for whatever reason, and Mathilde is a good role model. Good news: Mathilde's knees are covered but the dress is still too tightly emphasizing her abdomen. Progress, at any rate.

Das tut mir so sehr leid.

    2. Oh ja, das ist auch meine Meinung. Sie hat immer so etwas traurig melancholisches in ihren Augen... Sie wird einen Grund haben dafür. Nichts im Leben geht spurlos an einem vorüber...

  17. Love the mixed comments on this site. The first two from Nalerina and Southernbelle are almost direct opposites 😀I really liked Mathilde’s outfit in the first photos; the pattern and the matching accessories looked perfect and the hat is superb. In the later photos, you can see that it is very ill fitting and makes it look as if she has a really protruding stomach which is a shame. I would like all of Stephanie’s outfit if it was about 4 inches longer.

  18. The idea of Mathilde's dress is nice, but it doesn't work, in my opinion. It's a very strange cut and therefore it looks ill-fitting, especcially around her tummy and hips.
Stephanie looks great from her collar up; the dress with the bright purple accessoiries could have worked, if it would've been longer and suitable for her body type.

  22. Women at Mathilde's age seem to have a bit of a tummy, even if they have been slim-waisted when young. Obviously, it will also show occasionally if you don't want to dress in a tent.

    3. Dear Tanya, Queen Mathilde has had FOUR children and is no longer a young girl so that a slight tummy is perfectly natural. I find your remark quite unnecessary, to pit it mildly.

    1. KOHUAME, none of your business..your comment is rude,
Won't it be funny if you were to ask a woman, hey are you pregnant? and she would respond, no. I am just fat, you nosy lady?? Women with a minimum of decorum, don't ask other woman such a private question.
If she is, you will find out on due time...in the meantime mind your business.

    2. @CB,first of all KOUAME is not asking Mathilde.Besides that it is NOT rude question and pregnancy is not so" private" when you see big belly!

    4. AVA, yes it's rude, not sure if you go around asking women with a little belly if they are pregnant, but in my world is beyond rude and ill mannered .
If she was referring to Mathilde, it sounds like a very crass comment, taking her age into account.
If she was talking about Stephanie it's equally mean.
And, yes, it's the most private thing for a woman, specially in the first trimester, when so many things can go wrong, also there are many women doing fertility treatments, do you have any idea how they feel when that question is asked, but they aren't expecting?
Pregnancies are made public, only when the parents feel appropriate to share the news with strangers.
      Stop being nosy.

  25. I love Stephanie's beautiful white and deep pink color scheme. I agree with others who have said that a slightly longer skirt length would improve the look, but it is a largely successful outfit. Am afraid I can't love the little hat, though -- the floral (?) thingy on top gives it too much of a fussy vibe for me.

    1. I agree, the little hat looks like something you might run across at a small town antique shop...too fussy and costume-like for my taste. Stephanie is not 65, she’s a young woman but styles herself so matronly.

      Delete
    2. The hat is just a bit of silly nonsense and that is what I love. It is like OK I have to wear a hat for this occasion so let’s have fun and she is young enough to get away with it.

  26. La Princesse Stephanie est belle!

  27. I have no objection to the hat, fabric or shoes etc. It is just the style of her dress makes her look so frumpish. That same fabric in a another style like the flattering blue checked dress she wore on September the 12th would have looked truly stunning and a bit vintage if that was the idea.

  28. Stephanie in a full face of honest-to-goodness MAKE-UP!! This is the first time I can ever remember seeing her brows properly defined. Makes a world of difference. Of course, there is the unfortunate matter of that thing on her head. But I'll happily overlook it one this landmark occasion.
