To me these pics are a rare occasion to see the Qn's hands, most of the time hidden by gloves. Not sure I find the right words to comment on it, unless to say that her hands are giving the image of an elderly woman, more than we usually think.
ReplyDeleteMaryT, the Queen might have a condition called Raynaud's syndrome, where the hands and feet are cold all the time and appear more red from lack of circulation. I have noticed in the past the color of her hands when you see her without her gloves, and it's most always this dark coloration.... JT
DeleteNot sure what you're trying to say here. My hands are worse than hers, and I am 10 years younger than she is. Of course, I don't have the kind of money she has to care for her person!
DeleteMaryT, The syndrome may also explain why she has had difficulty on and off over the last number of years with leg sores, due to poor circulation. She is such a beautiful woman, a credit to her for continuing to due her duties, even as her age creeps up on her.... JT
DeleteYes indeed; been thinking the same for years. It is a real blessing to be so firm and active in her age, and easy for the rest of us to forget just what a huge deal that is.
DeleteI think it's very wise for her to have gloves on, especially because her outings often have her shaking so many hands. She is in her 90's after all and yet so amazing in her activities and commitments.

ReplyDeleteBoth ladies look great. The blue dress of the Queen is such a rich color and the brooch she looks stunning. Css Sophie's dress is very lovely and well fitted. She wears white well.

As far as I can tell, the condition of the Queen’s hands are nothing unusual for women of this age, my mother had the same problems although she had a lovely face. Perhaps it would be more respectful not to make such comments.

I really like Sophie's dress, she looks lovely in white. As far as the Queen, I think she looks magnificent for a woman her age, her complexion is incredible.
