Agree, it‘s more subtle. Even I found the hashtag childish,I have to say that the gripe of many Swedes about the royal house is usually unfair. The king and queen and of course Victoria and her husband do a really good job for Sweden. Denmark also has a puritanical tradition but they count better: they see the benefits of a royal house as a representative. However , Carl XVI. Gustaf has once again preserved the royal house and Victoria will be the next queen.
I think the hashtag was about hate on the Internet, a protest towards all the haters that hide behind their screens. Not only about hate towards the royal family but about all kind of hate on the internet.
Look at the recent history of the royal family. The Olof Palme government almost succeeded in abolishing the constitutional monarchy. Now, a new parliamentary commission of inquiry has been set up to examine the costs and benefits of the royal house…
I think the hate is everywhere program or cause is referring to prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia’s foundation’s work on internet hate and bullying. And yes, it is everywhere. Especially online. It is in that context I believe. Somebody somewhere else said it might be lost in translation or they didn’t explain it well or didn’t quote the whole thing. This is one of their main causes, along with dyslexia, that their foundation sponsors. (Mary)
I was thinking about Adrienne's curls and you are right -- Carl Philip has curly hair and their great aunts too IIRC. Nicolas's hair have gotten darker, Leonore's hair are much lighter. --Karin
Beautiful children! It seems to me that Adrienne has got the curls from her grandfather Carl Gustaf, but part from that it is more Silvia... Nicolas has taken a lot from his mother and Leonore from her paternal grand-mother... At least as far as I can see!
Beautiful children indeed. They are all quite different though. Leonore looks a lot like Chris´ mother, as you said, but I don´t think that Nicolas looks like Madeleine. I think he is the spitting image of his father. Adrienne on the other hand is all Bernadotte. She looks a lot Carl-Philip. Like the other two, she bears next to no resemblance with Madeleine, but at least she´s got something from her side of the family.
It’s funny how we all see different things in children. To me Nicolas looks very much like Madeleine (who in turn looks like queen Silvia). Lenore is taking after Chris. I do see the Bernadotte features on Adrienne, but not a striking resemblance to any particular elder (I guess maybe the king, indeed, but the eyes look different).
All to say: such wonderful, beautiful children, they seem happy and sweet every time we see them. I hope Madeleine and her family are content with their decisions.

ReplyDeleteCute children. And the simple message "siblings" is so much nicer than "Hate is everywhere", isn't it!

DeleteRita, we talk about an older post about Carl-Philip and Sofia (from oct. 11th) here on this blog.

Sweet photo. I love that Adrienne has curly hair like her uncle Carl Philip.

Madeleine’s hair was curly when she was a kid, and so was Victoria’s, I think at least Victoria’s still is, she straightens it.
DeleteThe 3rd kid resembles C.P. Frieda
DeleteIt's so interesting to see how family genes work; Adrienne is a true Bernadotte.
ReplyDeleteLove how Nicolas gently helds Adrienne's hand and look at his police sneakers ❤ Also love the outfits. Simply adorable.
