On October 17, 2019, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain presided over the 28th Princess of Asturias Awards Concert, organized by the Princess of Asturias Foundation and the Cajastur-Liberbank Foundation. The Princess of Asturias Foundation Choir performed alongside the Symphony Orchestra of the Principality of Asturias (OSPA) under the baton of conductor Crístobal Soler. Love the feathers! Perfect fitting trousers. Wish I knew her weight training regime...her arms are killer.

It looks nice, but to me would have looked so much better embellished with something other than the marabou feathers.

Love this- the ballet pink and the black, the feather detail at the bust, & satin black ribbon. Make-up and hair on point per usual. Her perfect posture only enhances the ensemble. I want her arms!

Very glamorous! This feathery version of the runway top needed more feathers for a lush look but it is appropriate for a night out at a concert. Simple, clean lines, but very chic, classic Letizia. Looking at the earlier event with the girls, the camera contingent is massive. So many flashes have made her make up look too white. Pictures 3 & 11 have a more realistic effect.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh this queen is so beautiful and perfectly dressed always. I find this outfit to be really a show stopper.
ReplyDeleteNot so sure about this outfit. Would be fine to go clubbing but it’s too casual for this event. The Queen does look fantastic, for sure, but it just doesn’t feel right to me.
ReplyDeleteIndeed.
DeleteI agree -
DeleteAlthough it fits the Queen well, I find it highly inappropriate for the event and for her age. Ok for a private affair with her husband where she’s free to be the queen of the disco.
ReplyDeleteWhy age as an argument? She has beautiful skin, a perfectly toned body, so why exactly does age matter? -- Not an everyday look but it is also not an every occasion and it does not have to be a long evening dress for me for this occasion. -- What I personally don't like on anybody and on any occasion and also not if it reflects the dress color: it is the ghastly reddish eyelid powder, cf. pic #4.

Agreed. Can you see this being a royal outfit? Disco party yes, not sure even for that if it’s really good. Just because she is toned doesn’t mean it’s ok to wear anything. She. Would look worse if she weren’t toned, but that isn’t the issue. Yes, it’s Spain - I can anticipate the comments coming, and yes, everyone likes her, but that doesn’t make it appropriate. /CH
DeleteSouthernbelle, I totally agree with you. This is fine in private but in my opinion it is not appropriate for the queen of Spain.
DeleteSo rare to see affection shown between Queen Letitia and her husband. I know it has its place in formal functions but it so lovely to see. I think Queen Letizia looks amazing in this outfit. Striking as usual.
ReplyDeleteRoyalty fan
DeleteUnknown, I totally agree, it's very rare to see affection shown between them.
Magnificent
ReplyDeleteGeorgeous outfit. What a modern Queen.
ReplyDeleteIn één woord verschrikkelijk!
ReplyDeleteDem stimme ich zu.

Waarom vind je dat? Ze ziet er gewoon schitterend uit!
DeleteWow! Letizia looks stunning! The top is well-balanced with the simple black trousers and accessories. The ruffles and feathers are not over-done, and the delicate pleating adds feminine detail. If the ruffles and feathers had gone around the entire top, it would have been overkill. I would like to see it without the belt. The longer belt adds a dramatic twist, but does interrupt the line of the top. The top is pictured online sans belt, and I like it that way as well. The black diamond earrings are the perfect finishing touch, blending in with the rest of the black in her outfit so nothing is competing with her top.
ReplyDeleteSo Cool Queen Letizia!!! Bravo! Love the look.
ReplyDeleteAnd I have noticed that the color and shine of her hair has improved a lot in recent years and is just perfect.
For me it's a great look for the event, classic on the colors, feminine and with beautiful clean lines, completely appropriate to a concert.
ReplyDeleteAmazing look on Letizia. She is really on her own league among the royal ladies. She is a classic beauty with deep sense of style. And saying this I think most of the royal ladies are very nice looking - Letizia is just so wow. -Siri
ReplyDeleteI am jealous of Laeticia's arms and back! Wow, she is stunning, and the fashion choices bold and cool. Well done.
ReplyDeletetoo skinny is Letizia
ReplyDeleteLaeticia looks stunning here!
ReplyDeleteCan we take a few minutes and talk about Queen Silvia in Elie Saab!! Wow!

Amazing how beautiful and elegant Queen Silvia looks! Thank you for sharing! /CH
DeleteWowh, agree Queen Siliva wears that gown beautifully.
DeleteI can´t say that it doesn´t fit, but it´s not my cup of tea.
ReplyDeleteIt´s the overall edgy and sexy approach that I find a bit much for the occasion. Indeed, the outfit had worked better at a private party than in this setting. Also, the trousers are too tight and look uncomfortable (especially for sitting), and the ribbon is strangely long. The feathers would tickle me and drive me insane. But on the plus side, it´s a classic black-and-white combo, the bodice creates a nice silhouette, and the outfit stands out as it should for a queen. Clearly, she has the presence and poise to carry it off.
Dear Vanessa, I totally agree, this outfit is very stunning, no doubt, but something that a queen should wear privately. I find the sexy approach, as you put it, in appropriate for a queen in public.
DeleteWow! She looks good.
ReplyDeleteRochelle Cape Towm
Stunning, this top is do sophisticated and flattering for her figure. Well balanced with the sober pants, hair and makeup, perfect as usual. I disagree about the appropriateness of the outfit, as the critic of course is in the eye of the beholder, in reality it doesn't show more skin than any gala dress worn by many toyals, the point is that she has a killer body and some people would rather see her hide it. She is a modern woman, and there is nothing in protocol or otherwise that says that she can't show her back, arms, or legs.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree!
DeleteWell said. I find her always dressed appropriately for the event and occasion. It’s a concert not a state visit in a conservative country.
DeleteE.B.B
Good point...it does not show any more skin than a gala dress!!
DeleteAlexandra
My jaw dropped! She looks stunning in this outfit. I love the color of the top with the long ribbon belt. The feather embellishment is just right, IMO, not too much (sometimes featheres can be way overdone, but at the top looks fantastic). The slim pants are tailored perfectly, as usual. Letizia rocks this outfit!
ReplyDeleteChel
What a gorgeous outfit! I love the feathers
ReplyDeleteIt looks nice, but all this feathers they look a little off. The pants is OK.
ReplyDeleteNot my cup of tea. Nevertheless she is perfection!
ReplyDeleteLuna
Letizia looks good. I just don't care much for the feathers, the pants is nice, She loos good in almost everything she wears.
ReplyDeleteOh, I didn't know Letizia does play an instrument, too. It's great that she will join the orchestra for this concert. Well, if she doesn't perform I just don't understand the outfit. It's an Award gala event so why is Letizia dressed as either one of the musicians or for clubbing? Christine
ReplyDeleteYou are truly funny Christine, for a second I thought I missed something and she actually plays an instrument! Then I finished reading your comment and chuckled for a full minute. I guess we don’t know if she didn’t in fact go clubbing afterwards, do we now? That would indeed make for a somewhat more reasonable argument as to why the edgy/sexy outfits was chosen (to quote Vanessa). Some entertaining comments on this one, tip of the tiara to you both!
