On October 15, 2019, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of The Netherlands visited the India-Netherlands Tech Summit. The Netherlands is India’s current partner for the technology and innovation conference/exposition, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. About 150 Dutch businesses, knowledge institutions and representatives of local authorities that work with India on water, food and health issues are attending the summit. |
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and King Willem-Alexander both gave a speech at the summit. Following the opening, there was a tour of the Experience Zone, where demonstrations were given. King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima then met and spoke with participants of the summit. |
In the afternoon, the King and Queen visited a state school and learned about the ‘Go-Girls-Go’ project. The project supports girls making the transition between secondary school and vocational education, helping combat violence against women and girls and boosting women’s self-reliance. It also educates boys about what they can do to help. |
King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima visited the Mughal-era Safdarjung's Tomb in New Delhi. There, they met with about 50 alumni who have returned home to India after a study programme in the Netherland. |
Sorry the hat is ridiculous, hair style ok, and dress not my favorite
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts exactly. Yes, a queen should set herself apart a little from the crowd, but half the crowd cannot see her face with this hat. Check out Queen Elizabeth and Camilla in today's Westminster photos. I like the color and fabric of her dress. Its front gathers aren't for everyone but she carries it off decently, accepting the fact that it makes her hips look quite large.
DeleteCe chapeau est une plaisanterie !!! Elle aurait dû le garder pour retourner à Ascot avec la reine Élisabeth.
ReplyDeletetres drole. Elle se rend ridicule.
DeleteThe hair is quite fine, the hat is too much over the top and the dress doesn't do anything for her. Weird cut.
ReplyDeleteSorry, but this is my summary ;-)
Fashionwise and all in all: This is fit for a'n Operetta!
ReplyDeleteWhen did her clothes just start looking weird? Often Strange unattractive colors, ill-fitting, theatrical styles. I know she’s always been over the top, and I thought she looked wonderful in last night’s gown and jewels. But lately it’s been one bizarre outfit after another. I used to love her bold fashion statements. But lately—about the time she stopped styling her hair—she has often looked just bizarre.
ReplyDeleteShe can go from a 10 to a 0 in one day!
ReplyDeleteMême de 10 à moins 5
DeleteMy thoughts exactly!
DeleteThe entire outfit is so wrong on so many levels. The hat; obvious. The dress; too puckered, thin, wrinkly, and way too short; The stockings; too shiny - The shoes; just no, please, get a grip and dress well QM, you have a lovely smile, but the outfits you wore yesterday and today are just plain ugly, sad to say.... JT
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, bold Maxima! I love her daring fashion choices and her exercising the queenly prerogative to wear eye catching clothes and hats as big as she wants! - Jemmi
ReplyDeleteD’accord!

ReplyDeleteIt's hit or miss on this tour. This is a no for me. That hat looks like she ran into a tropical bird and the bird won. The skirt is not flattering on the dress, just an awkward ruching situation in the middle. And of course, the hair. A good old fashioned brush could have made that ponytail so sleek. I know she can do better, she knocked it out of the park with that dress last night.
ReplyDeleteChel
Lol -- Chel, your description of the hat has totally made my day 😁😁😁
DeleteI grinned at the bird-fight-hat too; somehow I could see that happen 😁 Very funny indeed!
Delete:)))) The bird got the better of the hat, made me smile.... JT
DeleteWhat a hat! Totally over the top but I love it. And her hair is nice too. Just wish there was more colour in the outfit as a whole. The strawberry coloured dress of the lady in the first and the sixth photo pleases me far more. Come on, Queen Maxima. Give us style and colour. ( I hope I don’t regret wishing for this!!)
ReplyDeleteAgain a very ugly dress.....drawing attention to a part of the body nobody wants emphasis put on.... and then the rediculous hat..... this has nothing to do with fashion or style, it is something out of a costume play. Maxima should hire a stylist asap.

Not a great outfit and I don't think the color is right for Maxima. Carrie
ReplyDeleteSoft floppy drapey fabrics just areNOT Maxima. She looks just stunning in crisp tailored clothes and fabrics with body. Her outfit for the order of the Garter ceremony in England this year was a total knockout and very made with simple clean lines superb tailoring and sleek fabric. This pelmet arrangement draping on the skirt and a drum top hat with bird is literally the last straw.
ReplyDeleteThis hat is disgusting. She looks like a curious bird. By the way, why is she wearing a hat?
ReplyDeleteThis would be a fun outfit for Ascot but in this setting - 1) the dress is too short, and 2) the hat is distracting and mildly silly. I like these neutral colours on her though. (V.M.)
ReplyDeleteThe very last picture of the King and Queen is very sweet. But the Queen's outfit is a huge miss on all the points elaborated above. Yes, she needs to stay with crispt tailored clothing. The lady with the blonde hair and coral dress stands out as quite lovely.
ReplyDeleteI find the hat in bad taste. Ridiculous. How can someone take her seriously. A Queen should be elegant and graceful . Bold? Not bold. Tacky. In the group photo she blocks people faces.
ReplyDeleteThis outfit is a rare miss for me, the front puckering and flimsy. The hat not so keen on.
ReplyDeleteI think it has all been said in the comments above. :-) The only positive here are the shoes and the purse.
ReplyDeletePor favor Máxima olvídate de esos sombreros que solo llevas tú en todas las ocasiones. El vestido pasable, no me gusta el color.
ReplyDeleteSorry, not my favourite dress with this unflattering front... Hairdo is very nice
ReplyDeleteEn dan te bedenken dat de hoed een afdankertje is. Ze droeg hem in 2015? om koningin Mathilde de ogen uit te steken.
ReplyDeleteAttention la chasse est ouverte !
ReplyDeleteThis dress with the ruched skirt it's unflattering for almost any figure, the color is different and it could work with simple lines, and the right accessories. The hat deserves a chapter by itself, it's just totally out of place for this event. When you have to mingle with so many regular folk, there shouldn't be such a huge thing getting in the way, I understand that Máxima likes to dress like " a queen" and follows her own personal interpretation of the role, however on this instance she looks a little overwhelming. You can absolutely wear a hat, even in the daytime, even in a country where it's not expected, but there are so many elegant, discreet and lovely choices of headgear, and this is not one of them.
ReplyDeleteEn nogmaals: de echtgenote van de koning komt op de tweede plaats. Mevrouw doet alle mogelijke moeite om voorop te lopen.
ReplyDeleteInderdaad.....
DeleteThe color is not bad, but not the right dress for this tour. The hat is funny.
ReplyDeleteToo much hat! This look ....well not good
