On September 23, 2019, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex visited the District 6 Museum and learned more about the forced relocation of 60,000 people during the apartheid era. Afterwards, The Duke and Duchess visited the nearby Homecoming Centre and joined a community cooking activity. District 6 is a former inner-city residential area in Cape Town, where freed slaves, artisans, immigrants, merchants and the Cape Malay community lived. The Duchess wore a sky blue dress by Veronica Beard. |
Pretty dress. I liked it the first time she wore too, and preferred her neater hairstyle back then as well.
ReplyDeleteDelicious Cape Malay food..Mmm.

Wow that's a wonderful colour on Meghan! And just look how she is glowing, looking so happy, enthusiastic and genuinely enjoying herself.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures!
Nice color on the dress which is roomy enough and can be pulled in as she shrinks back to her old self. The clever slits in front have been made shorter which is a wise choice. The fabric looks quite warm. Do you know what it is? They surely do have heavy security around them and Harry looks rather worried in some photos. I think it would extremely difficult to change to a public life and have to lose so much spontaneity.
ReplyDeleteJa, das ist besser. Ich habe dieses Kleid schon im letzten Jahr geliebt. Tolle Farbe und Schnitt.

Not so clever to accentuate the waist with this ribbon. Colour of the dress is nice.
DeleteWith such beautiful hair she could do so much better.
Love the colour of this dress but that's really all the positives for me. It seems to have too much material. the shoes don't help and with her hair worn loose, there's a very untidy vibe overall. The tie belt is not flattering unless you are really thin. The previous outing for this dress last year with smarter shoes and her hair tied back was a much nicer look. Love the photo where Meghan seems dubious about the food and the following one where Harry is sharing something with her.
ReplyDeleteYou are right, Annie. The colour is great but everything pulled together it looks a bit untidy and even messy.
DeleteI had never noticed her hair extensions before even though they were often mentioned here. However, they are very obvious today.
ReplyDeleteHow so?
DeleteIndeed.
DeleteGreat rewear- the color looks great with Meghan’s complexion. I usually like her hair down but it looks a bit too long to me today. I feel like her hair could be two inches shorter.

Very nice color blue. I liked this dress the last time she wore it I believe it was in Marocco. This time it is not so well fitting. The wedge shoe is not an improvement. Maybe if she put her hair out of the face it would be better. She is a pretty young women.
ReplyDeleteI love the colour of the dress and I like the black wedges with it too - they ‘bookend’ her dark hair. I think the fit of the dress is okay, but the tie belt looks a bit lumpy. Maybe tie one loop and let the ends hang longer? That’s a minor quibble though. (V.M.)
ReplyDeleteIt’s still a lovely dress but the overall look is let down by the terrible shoes and not the best hair. She still looks nice though.
ReplyDeleteSorry but those very obvious extensions look tacky on a nearly 40 year old woman. They look like the cheap clip-in extensions the social media influencers promote on Instagram. She took a personal hairdresser with her on this tour, there really is no reason for her hair to look like this.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful color for the Duchess. The dress was great a year ago and it still looks lovely.
ReplyDeleteI liked this dress the first time Meghan wore it and the same now. The colour is lovely on her. I don't normally like wedges, but these work well with the dress on this occasion.
ReplyDeleteShe looks great! Love the color and the fit on her post-baby body. Love how they hold hands. - Capt. Marvel
ReplyDeleteLoved this dress the first time and still do, fantastic color, I agree that it looked better put together the first time, however, they way she paired this time with the espadrilles it's more appropriate for this occasion. Although I don't find her hair terrible, I thing that she would benefit from a trim , in my opinion when hair is too long it takes away from the outfit. Glad to see them both enjoying themselves.
ReplyDeleteGreat to see this dress again, looks great on her. However, I don't like shoes with this dress (I did like them with the black dyed earlier in the day though). The color of this dress is beautiful on Meghan, as is the style. As for her hair, I personally think she doesn't need the extensions.
ReplyDeleteChel
I don't care for her dress, it doesn't fit well especially with that tie belt, the shoes are nice but don't go with the outfit. Her hair looks too long and the extensions are very noticeable. But she's smiling, and like Victoria and Maxima, no matter how they look all is forgiven is they are smiling.
ReplyDeletei like an honest opinion
Deletemo-
Meghan looks terrible who ever advised her to wear this;I wouldn't wear it,the tying of the belt is horrible. I like Meghan;she is an attractive woman.Navy suits her as do geometric patterns. The shoes are nice.
ReplyDeleteThose shoes look too heavy for her thin legs. Color of the dress is nice.

She is not A young woman anymore, with 37 years of age you are A grown-up, so why the holding hands all the time? It’s irritating.
ReplyDeleteThe dress: nice, the hair more out of her face would be better
She actually 38 years old!
DeleteIt makes me happy to see these two holding hands, sharing a quick kiss, smiling together. I’ve been married over 25 years and I’m not a spring chicken, but we still hold hands with my husband. Well, I’m not a royal. In this cold and sometimes mean world we do need love and affection.
DeleteWe still hold hands with my husband and we are already in our fifties (and have been together since the 1980s). :) So, nothing wrong with that! The colour looks great on her and they look happy. PH
DeleteAnnabel, is called affection between husband and wife, and sometimes when on a unknown environment, men feel a little protective about their wiwes, perhaps a little old fashioned, but not abnormal. Some of us believe that showing love to your spouse, friends and family in the form of holding hands, hugging etc is totally normal and healthy, regardless of your station in life. I am glad to see that Harry was showered with love and affection from her mother, oftentimes publicly against the traditional reserve of the RF, and now is a loving young man that will probably be a fantastic father.
DeleteOf course you are entitled to feel irritated by people holding hands, I, on the other hand wish that they continue to be themselves and don't pay too much attention to things that aren't really consequential.
Regards.
Annabelle, I think you have a terrible attitude. How can showing appropriate affection toward the person you love be wrong? I think we need more of it in the world. Archie is one very lucky boy if he grows up seeing affectionate parents. It can only benefit him, and he will be a better man for it. Every child should be so fortunate.
DeleteI really thought these comments had run their course. You may need the smelling salts--they also kissed publically while on this tour. Good for them.
@Annabelle: agree. They can do what they want in their private time but not when they are on the job. They are at work on engagements and their behaviour is so immature. It's the same as a couple walking around the office holding hands and making out. It would be totally inappropriate in any workplace inso it'sappropriate at official engagements.
DeleteI’m tired watching royals who could be wax dolls from wax caninet. Love to see real people instead
Delete@9:01 More royal rules from that book of protocol that no one has seen in print? Amazing how many people have access to this book and the royals do not. As Cherry said, it is normal for a man to feel protective, especially in such a large crowd. There is a simple remedy if you find it irritating. B.
DeleteI must have dreadful eyesight for try as I might I cannot see hair extensions. I can see plenty of hair, subtle changes in hair colour, hairs out of place and Meghan's hair styled in what I consider a less than flattering style, but no extensions.
ReplyDeleteAgree!
DeleteShe has always worn extensions for volume and length ever since her actress days but the hairstylists usually did a better job so they were not as obvious.
DeleteThis current bundle is too long compared to the length of her real hair and terribly blended.
ReplyDeleteGreat causes that show their commitment to children’s causes.
ReplyDeleteOn the fashion side.... Slightly disappointed; although I applaud the repeat of the dress, it isn’t an outfit that looks good on her. It looks messy and unkempt. From the dress itself (the belt isn’t doing any favours, a simple black leather belt that matched the colour of her shoes could have helped, if she was so determined to wear this particular dress) to the way she styled her hair, I think she could have done better with minimal effort. I rarely dislike the outfits themselves, but rather how they are put together. In this case I actually dislike it all. Hopefully this will be the one exception.
Lily A
I dont understand the appeal of this dress.
ReplyDeleteI also think the reason for the extensions might be all the damage her hair has because of her straightening it. I'd love to see her natural hair.
on dirait Pocahontas !
ReplyDeleteI love this shoes! And I love being able to express my opinion. So: for me this would be a sad world, when you cannot hold hands with your love ones in public when over - what: 5?Liz.
