The Duchess of Cambridge attended the Back to Nature festival

On September 10, 2019, The Duchess of Cambridge opened the "Back To Nature" play garden at RHS Garden Wisley and attended the Back to Nature Festival in Surrey south of London. The garden is a place for families and friends to have fun in nature, and is inspired by the gardens co-designed by The Duchess at RHS Chelsea and RHS Hampton. The Duchess of Cambridge wore a new elted floral-print swiss-dot cotton-blend midi dress by EMILIA WICKSTEAD.

  1. Looks alright from up close, especially the top part. But from further away, I get nightie-vibes from this. It´s the all-over floral print on a white background, the midi-length, and the textile belt (which, though nice for the silhouette, blends into the background leaving little visual structure).
Also, for a back-to-nature event, I would have chosen a sportier outfit that allowed me to actually engage in play and outdoor activities.

Agree, very well said. It is a pity that she did not choose something sportier.

  2. Lovely, delicious, pretty dress is so appropriate for mixing it up with children at a playground! It is traditional but care has been taken with the placement of the pockets, the print's line across the body and belt. The fabric looks to be a very high-quality and the fullness of the skirt allows easy movement when getting down to kid-level. As a teacher of young children, I always appreciated a skirt that let me move modestly.

  3. £1.600,- for this dress, wow!! Lovely, but a bit to much country-house curtain or bedspread from past days in my opinion. I agree with Vanessa: from head to waist o.k., then maybe trousers... As always, it looks like it has been tailor-made for her lovely silhouette.
Mary Berry looks quite chic again. Chapeau!

Really not sure...actually I LOVE rose patterns on dresses etc but here I'm not convinced. Maybe, if the dress would be a maxi version, yes...but this medi thing with these wedges in beige....yes, something disturbs me here, Frieda

I really don't like that dress. Style is boring and the pattern looks like grandmothers kitchen curtain. Big no. The shoes are kind of nice but not together with this dress. - Siri

This is pretty standard floral dress that is hugely elevated thanks to Kate’s athletic frame. Not body shaming anybody it such a soft, romantic midi dress looks best on someone who’s tall and on the slimmer side.

  10. I like the silhouette, the pockets, the length and the belt, but I don't care for the fabric, it reminds me of a bedspread ( like the ones you see in country houses) , and although I love the wedges, on this instance it just gives the outfit a very bland, prissy look. Today is no for me.

Anne-Minni said Kate was like a Princess , not is one. No need to get so defensive.

  12. The fabric, the belt, the pronto, every detail looks outdated un this dress.

I like the fabric itself, however, the flower pattern leaves me feeling like throwing on my jammies. Detail in the fabric is nice, though a sportier outfit my have been better for the days activities.... JT

  14. I wouldn't say outdated--I think the look is very "now" but like Vanessa and others I get "nightie vibe" (wonderful phrase, by the way) when I look at it. I can also see the interior furnishings similarity. I do think it's a perfect style for the event but perhaps a darker background to the pattern would make it more appealing. Always lovely to see D of C at events with children.

  15. I saw some other pictures of the day, and seeing the location of her speech makes me think this dress is perfect!

  16. While I've adored nearly all of Catherine's mid-calf length dresses recently, this one is a miss for me. Imo the collar, pockets and the large flower print are unattractive, and the sleeves look tight across the upper arms...they do not have the ease that (judging from the pictures of the model) was intended. Nevertheless, this dress is certainly very appropriate for the occasion, and should be a useful "go to" for similar spring and summer events.

The Duchess looks nice, this dress gives her great shape, with the volume and flow of the dress. Strappy sandals would have been nice, but the Duchess likes her wedges. The flower pattern is overwhelming, but each to their own.

Great style dress also very well fitting. I like the wedges, would liked it with heels better.

Absolutly Duchess Kate Style... Classic, feminine no chance to do something wrong... But it is not my favourite dress for her, sorry.
Seems to me that she wears her hair lighter than usual...

  23. I's sure my Grandmother had flannelette sheets with a similar print when I was a child.
