| On September 10, Queen Maxima visited Alzheimer Trefpunt De Til in Giessenburg. The visit was made on the occasion of Alzheimer Nederland's 35th anniversary this year. Since 1997, Alzheimer Nederland has established 246 cafés or “trefpunt” across the country where patients, caregivers and healthcare professionals can get together for a monthly meeting to talk about living with dementia and keep in touch with eachother in a relaxed and safe atmosphere. The organization has 48 regional branches across the country. Queen Maxima's outfit is by Belgian fashion house Natan. |

ReplyDeleteOdd choice of outfit for the occasion. She looks out of place. That´s not a daydress, it´s a cocktail dress for the evening, for an opera or theatre visit or something.
ReplyDeleteMaxima is rather tall, so many of her dresses are on the short side. This is another example. She has good legs, but still many dresses don´t quite look right on her as far as proportions are concerned.
It´s a lovely dress, but maybe not for her, and not for the occasion.
Agree. I wonder if perhaps she was going to an evening event immediately after this conference; that is the only reason I can think of for this particular look.

DeleteI also agree. It does seem out of place for this afternoon event and I also think it would be more graceful with a couple of inches added and the skirt to be a bit more loose on her. Her hair is very nicely set, so simply done. Why not do this more often?

ReplyDeleteTop marks for Queen Maxima's hair style today and love the earrings. I like the dress and although it's not a regular day dress, if you think of the people she was visiting, many with dementia, she needs to look dressed up and "princessy" My mother has dementia and she might not remember the name of a VIP but would remember the nice dress.

ReplyDeleteThe Queen looks beautiful, but agree with the comments re: cocktail, evening wear. Her sunny disposition and enthusiasm on her visits is so infectious. She is wonderful regardless of what she wears.
