ReplyDeleteHedy, I agree with you. At first I wasn't thrilled with the sleeves, but as I see them longer, they look better. I think the way she stands, pushing her shoulders back, makes them look odd. She has certainly been looking much nicer lately. I like her hair this way, the dress is another lovely, feminine one, and she seems to give off very happy feelings.
DeleteLovely patterned dress with complimentary colors in shoes and purse. Great look CP Victoria!
ReplyDeleteAgree, CP Victoria looks chic confidante and comfortable.
DeleteWell ... I don't hate that dress but I don't love it either. Something about the fit of the sleeves.
ReplyDeleteThose ugly uneven hems spoil any nice dress

DeleteI hate the tops and sweaters with the uneven hems more than the dresses. They draw attention to a woman's hips in the completely wrong way. I think Vic's dress would be fine with just a simple short sleeve to offset the hemline. There's too much going on with the sleeve and they haven't been tailored to fit her. This dress is an excellent candidate for a make-over/recycle imo.
Best dressed this time is (IMO) Daniel.
ReplyDeleteUne fine ceinture de couleur vive et les accessoires en accord seraient plus gais que cette tenue de demi-deuil.
ReplyDeleteThey all look good. Nice to see the cousins together in a relaxed setting.

This dress is a little out of the box for Victoria. A take on an animal print, not florals, is a nice change. I don't think it fits well, and the sleeves are catching my eye. It looks like the dress is too big in the shoulders, causing the sleeve to start down the arm. Having a puff in the sleeve makes it more obvious that there is a fit problem. The sleeves also look like they have been cuffed up. They still look too long, so shortening them would probably have looked better. I think the belt is too wide, and looks a bit cheap. I do like her handbag.
ReplyDeleteMary's dress is well taylored. Seeing the two together, it is easy to see what a difference a well-fitting garment can make.
I am growing weary of dresses/skirts with uneven hems. In spite of that, I think CP Victoria's dress looks very nice. It has a soft appearance and is more feminine. I much prefer her dress to CP Mary's. I agree with Lisa Nilsson, Daniel looks very nice in his navy suit with double-breasted jacket.
ReplyDeleteI love this dress -- it appears to have a bit of floatiness and very pretty lines that would be flattering to most women, and it looks just wonderful on Victoria. I pretty much hate most animal prints, but this one is so subtle that I had to look really closely before I could be sure what it was. And I love the smooth, sleek look of Victoria's updo here -- a nice change from her usual bun or ponytail.
ReplyDeleteI often forget that Victoria is actually rather small, almost petite -- that does not come across in most of the photos we see.
I love Victoria's efforts overall and think she does her job well. But, I like her fellow picture taker better here, yellow and blue dress to boot. What a lovely dress.
ReplyDeleteMy two favorite royal couples together! CP Victoria looks very chic. Mary stunning as usual. Guys look good too. Go Danmark! Go Sverige! - Capt. Marvel
ReplyDeleteIt looks a bit like Mary and Victoria changed dresses with each other… :-) Both look nice, but Victoria wins it for me (because I usually like Mary's style). Daniel looks very dapper indeed, nice when he is without a tie. The lady from the embassy took it all the way with the Swedish colours, maybe a notch too much? And, last observation; did Mary get extensions or something? Her hair looks different.
ReplyDeleteI like Victoria's dress and except the sleeves she really looks good with something completely different from her usual flower dresses.
ReplyDeleteMary´s dress for me is also very nice and with great colors but also, for me, not the sleeves... I think it will look better if the sleeves were tighter.
Not a bad looking dress, but she should have opted for color, belt shoes and bag I would say. This is only MO.
ReplyDeleteI agree. Colour would have certainly improved it. Both dresses are "okay". Neither is stunning. They are smart and business like--just nothing to get excited about.
DeleteI agree.
