On August 31, 2019, Sarah, Duchess of York, Princess Eugenie of York, Jack Brooksbank and Princess Beatrice of York attended the wedding of Ellie Goulding and Caspar Jopling. The religious wedding took place at York Minster Cathedral in York, England. Singer Ellie Goulding is one of the close friends of Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice. Ellie Goulding got engaged to the art dealer Caspar Jopling last year. (Princess Eugenie wore a floral print dress by Peter Pilotto. Princess Beatrice wore a leaf print midi dress by The Wampire's Wife.) |
Ich mag das Kleid von Eugenie: vom Schnitt, der perfekt ist für die Prinzessin bis hin zum Muster. Sie strahlt. Vielleicht ist was unterwegs? ;-)

Eugiene's dress is well suited for a summer wedding but Beatrice's dress is best for the evening. Fergie why black!! The bride on the other hand, i suppose she wanted a convent/nun theme, very unsual wedding gown, maids dress & bide's car!
ReplyDeleteOkay, Sarah looks pretty decent. Green is a great color for Beatrice but the dress isn’t the best. Great shoes though. Eugenie on the other hand looks STUNNING. Absolutely sensational.

DeleteI totally agree, Anon 6:25, Eugenie looks breath taking, almost a show stopper, in the floral dress, make-up beautiful, I just so wish, she will trim her hair a bit. Her hair looked stunning, on her engagement photo's, with the very dashing Jack Brooksbank
Beatrice is Sarah's daughter when it comes to fashion - no sense of it.
ReplyDeleteI agree; over the years both have done best (imo) in simple, un-fussy, streamlined garments but those successes have been rare.
DeleteAgree. The bride is the most beautiful of all today.
DeleteIt’s delighted that the princess Beatrice is returning to her original healthy figure.
ReplyDeleteYou mean Princess Eugenia?
DeleteI remember her losing weight for her wedding.
The bride is beautiful. The dress is a bit long on her and the whole look is a bit wintery, but a very pretty design all the same.
ReplyDeleteAs for the royal ladies, I think Sarah looks best here. I don´t think that black is a great choice for a wedding, but her outfit is very flattering for her. Her hat is a bit iffy, but I cannot see it well, so will withhold judgement.
Eugenie's dress on the other hand is very unflattering. It´s not a bad dress, but it's totally wrong for her body type. She is curvy with a narrow waist and good legs, she should wear knee-length A-line skirts. This hip-hugging dress makes her look much bigger than she is.
Beatrice´s dress is a great colour for her, but again, not what I would wear to a wedding. It´s also rather frilly and would have looked much better if simpler and without the second tier in the skirt. Her shoes are bad and the headgear are ridiculous.
Ich schließe mich Vanessas wohlüberlegter Kritik vollumfänglich an. Vielen Dank dafür!
DeleteAll the ladies look lovely as far as I'm concerned, the bride included. They are all dressed true to their personal styles as we've come to know them. Sarah looks very good; I don't care much for Beatrice's head band at all but I like her shoes.

Love to see both out and about. Beatrice dress is not bad looking, but way too shiny. It actually looked good on the model. Eugenie looked great, lovely summer dress. I must say I did like Sarah"s coat and hairpiece. Also congrats to the bride and groom. Lovely wedding gown.
ReplyDeleteWhile black wouldn't have been my first choice for a daytime wedding, I do think Sarah's out looks good on her. I like Beatrice's individual pieces but not necessarily worn together. The leather headband with seems off with the fabric of the dress. That shade of green is gorgeous on Beatrice though. I like Eugenie's dress and her shoes are great. Something about her hair looks messy when wore with a pill box style hat. It may be that it was just not the right style of hat for a windy day.
ReplyDeleteWhen I look at their outfits together- I can't help but think they are dressed for 3 different weddings. Eugenie- a daytime spring/summer one, Beatrice- an evening affair, and Sarah- a fall/ winter wedding.
E.B.B.
The bridal gown is very pretty, I think. I agree that it is a bit long. Eugenie's dress is pretty but it too is too long. I like her hat very much. It is simple and allows her healthy, shining hair be the main focus. Beatrice's dress is pretty in color but too "flouncy" and too shiny for a daytime wedding. I'm not a fan of her headband which appears to feature black plastic flowers. Sarah looks very nice in the one photo shown.
ReplyDeleteI cannot understand what made Sarah Ferguson opt for that unbecoming, outlandish hat.
ReplyDeleteEugenie looks great and event-appropriate.
Beatrice's dress, being both shiny and very fussy, pulls her into hot mess territory which is a shame. I wonder if perhaps she struggles because she is attracted to certain styles that just do not look good on her. It can be hard to accept that certain things that may look wonderful on someone else, just do not work for one's self. I went down that road with miniskirts in my youth, and have had to accept that dramatic jewelry makes me look completely ridiculous :-/.
The bridal gown is refreshing and a delight -- is modest without being prim or schoolmarm-ish; has great dignity, is fitted beautifully to the wearer, and has a beautiful, graceful flow. Would love to see it in motion.

DeleteJane Chantal, I just think the bride, and her bridesmaid's, were roasting, in the blaring sun, in those long sleeved dresses
I'm a great fan of Eugenie's dress even though I agree that it is on the long side. Beatrice's dress is too fussy, too heavy and too glossy for me and the clumsy shoes don't help. Although it's dark, I think the Duchess of York looks very smart in the black coat. I'm struggling to make out what exactly is involved in the hat but I think it's okay. As for the bride's dress--I've seen photos in the press as well, I cannot figure out why any summer bride would choose to wear such an ll covering gown.--it definitely has a nun's habit vibe, as Winnie suggested. I'm thinking of Princess Anne's wedding dress or the dress worn by the Duchess of Gloucester which were both high necked and long sleeved but neither of these seems as overwhelming as this one. Seem to remember that she and Prince harry were once close and I think she was at his wedding last year. Thought he might have been there today.
ReplyDeleteBeatrice’s boy friend? is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHis face is softer and more beautiful than her. Sorry.….
Princess Beatrice's dress is unusual but not a fan or the headband. Way too much going on. The fabric is rather drab. A lot of fuss and shine with the dress. Something elegant and plainer would have been better. Princess Eugenie, looks lovely a very pretty dress, but I don't feel for her figure, the hip area makes her look bigger when she is not. Fergie, definitely not black. The bride looked beautiful, an unusual gown, but lovely. A great blog thank you
ReplyDelete"The Vampires wife": who on earth calls his Fashion-label like that?! And it looks like that or another Carneval-creation, in my humble opinion. The fabric looks rather cheap.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Lizzie's comment.
The bride looks beautiful, although the dress looks a bit heavy for late August. But she is very lovely. Wish them luck!!
Totally agree with you. My first thought wwas weather she was in other occasion than others. That shiny fabric is really like a carnival costume, terrible fabric for elegant weddings.
DeleteEuegenie´s make up is ugly and hair untidy, but she looks still happy and rather nice. Winner of the Yorks is Sarah. By the way she has such a stunning legs!
Yes, that is something the York sisters and their mother do have going for them: great legs. When it comes to rocking a pair of stilettos, they are second to none.
DeleteJetzt tragen alle die Haare, auch die Braut, wie Meghan es einst vorgemacht hat... was wurde sie kritisiert...
ReplyDeleteAnonymous 11.32AM: That does not mean that it looks beautiful, ha ha...
DeleteWelche "alle"? Weder Eugenie, noch Beatrice, noch Sarah Ferguson. Auch die Braut nicht. Das Haar der Braut ist frisiert - nicht vernachlässigt.
DeleteI love Eugenie dress, she looks wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThe York girls still haven't learned the art of clean lines and dressing for body type. Often it is too much of something. "Dress shabbily they notice the dress, dress impeccibly, they notice the woman." - Coco Chanel
ReplyDeleteLes demoiselles York semblent tricher avec la couleur de leur cheveux, elles sont bien moins rousses que parfois elle le montre . Pas bien grave .
ReplyDeleteAs I read through all the comments, it was interesting how 50% think one or another of the women looked good or not so good. My take; Sara, get that weird hat off your head, put stockings on the legs, and btw, what is that blackish looking thing on the left knee area? Bea, sadly, another fail, and Eugenie, up close, the dress has a pretty pattern, but sadly it accentuates the wrong areas of your body. If you ladies wanted to eclipse the bride, you did a great job. On the positive side, the bride looked lovely, well, except for the overly plumped lips. Anne
ReplyDeleteEugénie est bien jolie dans cette robe fleurie ; celle de Béatrice conviendrait plus à une soirée... Dommage que nous ne puissions me voir la coiffe de Sarah ?!!
