On September 01, 2019, Sunday, King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden and Queen Silvia of Sweden attended the World Music & Food Festival held in the park at Stenhammar Palace in Flen, Södermanland. The Festival aims to integrate refugees in the municipality of Flen and to provide people with opportunity to make new friends. The event is organized with the cooperation of The King, Stenhammar's estate management, Lida Gård and Flens municipality. |
Apparently the King made little Alexander Duke of Södermanland so that someday he will "inherit" this Stenhammar castle. The King is dressed nicely casual and seems to be enjoying himself. /Julie/
ReplyDeleteNope, Stenhammar can't be inherited. It's a lease hold, owned by the state. When the current leaseholder passes, the owner (the Swedish state) will appoint a new one. It will go to the most merited(when it comes to farming)Bernadotte male member. It could also be sold, of course, if there is no good candidate. /Haga/
Delete@Anon 5:52pm - Yes, I realize that, that's why I put "inherit" in quotes - I did not want to go into the long explanation. I realize it is leased through the male line. I should have just typed it all out as you did, so here we are, and thanks for explaining it so I didn't have to. /Julie/
DeleteAnyway, what a pretty little castle! I like it (and the cakes).
DeleteLove seeing K. Carl Gustaf so smiley! Where he's reaching out to shake the hand of that adorable child, his face is beaming. Q. Silvia is stunning as usual. The traditional dress of Sweden is so beautiful. - Capt. Marvel
ReplyDeleteThe Royal couple seem to have fun at Stenhammar Castle, Both smiling that is very nice to see.
