  1. I like this floral dress, and the idea of the belt is a good one, but I don't think it's the right one, this belt is sporty, and too substantial for such romantic dress, and it clashes with the very classic pumps, that being said, Mary looks very pretty and elegant as usual.

Besides agreeing with everything you said, that was my first thought about the belt as well. Something softer and more in keeping with the style tone, fabric and colours of the dress would be much better.
But then again, Mary makes everything she wears look good.

  2. Mary is the most beautiful flower of them all!

  3. CP Mary's dress is perfect for a flower show. The plum belt accentuates the vibrant colors of the print, and the nude pumps match the background. Her ponytail with what looks like a loose braid is very pretty.

    1. Agree. Mary looks nice and stylish, wearing a flower dress without looking frumpy!

Not my favorite dress on her but it is appropriate for the occasion.

Looks like she had the back altered to be more conservative.

I don´t like the dress. Too much florals, too long for an all-over-print, and while the flowers are pretty close-up, the colours melt together into an unattractive-looking mess from further away. Weird sleeves that are in no-man´s-land between hippie chic and historic costume. Also, I don´t understand the low back, even though Mary clearly had it altered to be less revealing, but what´s the point of a bare back in a day dress? (Or, if it´s meant to be an evening dress - why the florals, and why wear it during the day?)
I will give Mary credit for her styling though. The pony tail is gorgeous and makes this look a bit lighter and fresher; and the belt is a wonderful addition, both to give contrast and structure. I wish she had chosen shoes in a similar colour. As I said - not a fan of the florals, but at least she wore the dress to a flower show, so it´s kind of excused.

my sentiments exactly! can't say it's terrible, but too many things at odds... competing for attention (and the tailoring is, like you said, a little random, doesn't seem to reflect any particular style - I am all for "modern" cuts, but this one seems just that: rather random. Certainly she tried to improve on it, and certainly she is a promoter of the Danish brands - but that's about it from me, in terms of positives. In particular when compared with some of her other showings, including at flower shows. Next year will be better, I am sure.

  7. Another glorious dress -- so beautiful, and the artful alteration to the back makes it even more attractive. What a fabulous series of lovely dresses Mary has worn this summer!

Perfect dress for the occasion. While I don't mind the idea of a belt not a fan of the one she is wearing with the dress. Would have loved to see the dress worn with shoes in one of the brighter colors of the dress. Her hair and make-up looks great as always.

For being 47 and mother of four Mary looks young and fresh. With ponytail and light make up, she is very relaxed and modern looking lady.

What a lovely dress. CP Mary looks rested and ready to go again. I also like her ponytail.

  12. Ooooooh, lovely dress. It’s floral but not overpowering, long but not frumpy, dark patterned but still summery. Another great look for Crown Princess Mary

  13. The first thing I noticed was the belt. It is too heavy and the color is wrong for this dress. I think if she wanted to belt the dress, it needed to be thinner and lighter in color, more in line with the shoes. The dress has a very traditional and feminine feel, and the cut-out modernizes it just enough. The alteration to the back of the dress looks like a patch to me. I don't mind the cut-out at all, just the way the alteration was executed. Mary's hair looks lovely here, having added subtle style to a ponytail. I like that she has kept her shoes and earrings very neutral so they do not compete with her dress.

Who would make alterations to a ready to wear dress, the company where it comes from?

The dress and belt are lovely together. The belt adds definition to the watercolor print, and the shoes add to the overall flowing look of the outfit. Lovely woman and beautiful outfit.

Hmmm. Not at all enamoured with this look. The belt hurts instead of helping, it’s a thick belt that works on a coat, not a delicate dress. Also total mismatch with the shoes. Quite unfortunate.

The Princess looks lovely, she is always so well groomed, from head to toe. Love this dress and accessories. As always she never disappoints.
