On August 9, Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit attended the funeral of environmental activist Nicolai Roan. The funeral service was held at Grefsen Church in Oslo. Nicolai Roan has been receiving brain cancer treatment for a long time. Minister of Health Bent Høie and Prime Minister Erna Solberg was also present at the funeral service. Nicolai Roan's wife Nina Jensen is a close friend of the Crown Prince couple and is also the sister of Siv Jensen, the Norwegian Minister of Finance. |
Nice to see the CP couple again.Mette Marit looks good. She looks great in this black simple gress.
ReplyDeleteShe looks so good in simple sleek dresses. She could buy this dress in a bunch of colours and combine them creatively with blazers, coats, scarfs and fun shoes. This allows for so many different looks - more than you can ever create with a patterned dress with lots of fabric and features of its own. I sure hope great basic pieces like this dress will soon be in fashion again because they look good on their own and - by definition - make a great base to build an outfit on.

DeleteSchließe mich Vanessas Kommentar an.👍

DeleteIt feels so odd that people make comments on a person’s clothing when you can see that she is deeply distressed and sorrowful over the loss of a good friend. And I do not oppose making comments when in happier circumstances and occations.
ReplyDeleteIt´s not odd. This is a fashion blog, and we discuss outfits here. Even funerals are occasion for which you dress, with a certain dress code, and anyone going to a funeral will think about what to wear, despite being sorrowful.
DeleteI understand that some more respect is called for with occasions like this, but I fail to see how the above comments (including my own) were disrespectful. Quite the opposite in fact, they were exclusively positive.
Absolut richtig, Vanessa!👍

ReplyDeleteAgree! And close-ups shouldn‘t be done on such occasions.
DeleteI agree!
DeleteI agree with momnty
DeleteI'm sorry for the sad occasion but MM looks almost better than I've ever seen her. No froofroo or overly flowery or ill fitting garb. Just a simple sheaths. Wow. Less is definitely more.
