On the second day of their visit to Bhutan, on August 19, Crown Prince Akishino, Crown Princess Kiko and Prince Hisahito visited Tashichho Dzong in Thimphu. The family were welcomed by King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and Queen Jetsun Pema. The family also met the Gyalsey (Crown Prince) Jigme Namgyel Wangchuck. Following the Audience, the Japanese Imperial Family were invited to lunch at the Lingkana Palace. Japanese Crown Prince Family arrived in Bhutan on Saturday for a private visit on the invitation of The King of Bhutan. |

They are so cute. My heart is melted to both young Prince. Bhutan's national clothes are so colorful and beautiful.
Very interesting to learn the names of the garments worn by Prince Hisahito; thank you!
DeleteThese local costumes, Buthanese and Japanese are so elegant and colourful and different from ours in the West. There are so many details to look at, so much history and tradition. What a difference with all those long flower dresses we have seen during this summer. Give me these costumes any time! Elenor
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos of the CP couple and son visiting Bhutan. Love the CPss Kikos Kimono. But I must say the two little princes are really cute
ReplyDeletecrown prince of japan needs to wear traditional custom, and a hair cut please
ReplyDeleteWow, how cute two boys are! They look like real brothers! Unfortunately, Japanese little prince is wearing wrong costume. It’s a samurai and common people’s costume. Never worn by the royalty. (He is just a little boy, so it’s OK maybe …) For Japanese male royalty, suits are considered the most formal.
ReplyDeletePss Kiko looks very lovely in the Kimono. The little Prince also wearing the national garb of Japan. The little Prince of Bhutan is a cutie.
ReplyDeleteDid you see the ladies of picture 6? The back part of the costume ! Really beautiful !
ReplyDeleteMagnificent! These photos are such a treat. Others have said it, and I agree that the pics of the little princes together are exceptionally heartwarming.
