Queen Maxima attended the opening of the Coding College Codam

On July 2, 2019, Dutch Queen Maxima, as a member of the Dutch Committee for Entrepreneurship, opened the Coding College Codam in Amsterdam. The programming school wants to offer a solution for the shortage of well-trained programmers in the Netherlands. The school offers a three-year free programming course at Marineterrein in Amsterdam. 1. Beautiful dress, hat, shoes and bag. Lots of good outfits recently but really like this one.

Regardless of what one thinks of Queen Maxima's fashion choices, no one can deny that her smile and attitude are infectious. Having said that, I think she looked wonderful in her Oscar de la Renta dress when viewed with the rest of her ensemble. But, IMO, the dress would have been prettier without the decorations below the waistline.

The gold color is quite nice, but the hat is too large and the embellishments are in a strange place esp across the back.

Too small for her, looks tight around the torso and under the arms.
I do like the idea of the dress, it feels airy, light, fresh and different. The yellow and brown together work very well. However, I would prefer the embellishment at the waist rather than around the hips. It´s a weird placement.

    1. I agree that it’s a little snug but she still looks lovely and exotic. Did you notice the ingenious structure of the dress? It zips up the side and closes at the shoulder with snaps. How easy is that to slip on!

Yes, I saw the closure at her shoulder. Side zips used to be very common but they aren´t any more now. Anyway, I like the construction as well. Much better than those long zips at the back, especially those exposed ones. Hate those. This instead is nice and subtle, and indeed easy to slip on (and close without anyone´s help).
I agree she looks lovely, and the dress is different in an intesting way.

Is it just me or does the placement of the embellishments looks uncomfortable when sitting? Like the color of the dress and embellishments just not the placement.

For me, it is Maxima who makes this dress look good, not the other way around.
I don't like the placement of the embellishment as another poster above said... it's like a belt that has slipped, and it looks awkward, and also there's something strange about the sleeves around the armpit.. both on Maxima and the model. Also the fabric creases a lot in undesired places drawing the eye to them.
But I do like the colour and the design details, especially the slit in the back and the white piping in the back and on the sleeves and collar.

But it is Maxima's tall, muscular frame, her stature, the big summer hat and her lovely smile and eyes that elevates the whole sartorial package into something very pleasing to look at. Very nice!

Maxima in ihrer alten Bestform! Glücklich und mit viel guter Laune.
Super sieht sie aus. Ja, das Kleid sitzt vielleicht ein bisschen eng, aber irgendwie stimmt der Gesamteindruck. Und der Hut erst. Wunderbar.

  10. On picture nr. 12 it looks like she and the other two ladies had a call in the morning and agreed to wear matching colours!

  11. I like this outfit, well IMO it's a little to much the gloves and also would prefer to see it without hat or with a smaller one, but it's Maxima, and on this look I think she really looks good.

  12. Ik vind ddeze jurk ook te strak, alhoewel Maxima nog steeds een perfekt figuur heeft.
Ik zou de moed niet hebben van tijdens de hitte die hoed te dragen.

Does anyone else find the white stitched box around the kick pleat in the back strange? The dress looks very upscale from the front with the jeweled embellishments but the stitching on the back around the kick pleat makes it looks very sporty.

  14. I don't like the embellishment on this dress, is too much, and because of the cut and pippin around the waist it looks like it had been placed randomly, however I do love the color, fabric , and silhouette. I also don't get the point of carrying gloves, with a sleeveless dress in summer, and for the only purpose of accessorizing, when there is already so much going on, it adds a costume vibe, and takes away from an effortless appearance of elegance,

    1. But a lady always has a hat and gloves... well, back in 1952, anyway!! I think it's just a relic of old-fashioned ideas of what a "lady" had to do to be smart.

    2. I thought the same thing about the gloves. They are completely pointless in this case and should have been left behind.

  16. The personification of bad taste. PIc 6 is is truly a nightmare. There is nobody around who can help and give her some advice? Does she not notice her mise-en-scene is excessive, odd, out of place?

She's got a real woman's body and is showing it off. Look at those hips, look at those curves, look at that booty. Appreciate this form, not some of the other stick figures trying to gain attention. Go Max!!

  20. @6:51, not sure if you are a man or woman, if the first, you sound like a disrespectful pervert, this may be a surprise to you but most women don't dress to make you drool. If you happen to be a woman, I have a hard time understanding your comments, why would you sexualize other females.
Your comments are unbecoming and out of touch with the real value of women.
