Prince George of Cambridge, the eldest child of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge – and the third in line to the throne – turns six on Monday. On the occasion of that birthday, Kensington Palace published three pictures taken recently by his mother, the Duchess of Cambridge. Prince George was born in the Lindo Wing, a private site attached to St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, London, on July 22, 2013. |

Such a cute boy. He looks so much like his father. Birthday wishes, Prince George!
ReplyDeleteI love how Kate takes such great pics.
ReplyDeleteThese are not great pics. They are just random snapshots like anybody can take them from their kids who has a smartphone. I have no idea how and why the myth came up that Catherine is a talented photographer. She perviously shared some really nice pictures of the children and was praised like a hero: Oh my gosh, the duchess takes pictures herself. As someone who knows a bit of the technique and art of photography, I can say these photos then were nicely made - with an automatic digital camera. Anybody who takes two or three hours to get to know the programm can make them.
DeleteI don't want to be critical and I like Kate a lot. But I don't like it, when royals are praised for just normal everyday things. Apart from that: George looks like a normal happy 6 year old soon to be schoolkid. I wish for him a childhood and schoolyears as normal as it can be. I think William and Kate are doing a great job in raising their children.
Agreed!! Especially about the photography. Thank you.
DeleteI totally agree. She is not better than anyone when it comes to taking pictures! the camera does it all!!
DeleteAgree with Beth, these are nice pics but not any great pics technically. The last one is not sharp and finger amputation never works. First pic better, but again focus is not at the eyes as it should be, also some problems with white balance and light. Second pic, also arm cut very mysterious way.
DeleteBut I love the way George is happy normal boy and so relaxed when mother takes pics. William and Catherine are doing great job with their kids really.
Well put, Beth. George is completely irresistible but these photos display a little bit too much "normality."
DeleteGeorge is adorable. And I love his casual kid wear. However, the quality of Catherine's photography could be better. It doesn't matter so much if the background is blurry, but please get some good focus on his face.
ReplyDeleteSo I was not the only one who thought the last photo wasn't sharp ;-)
DeleteHe needs to make the most of his childhood as it will be a changed world by the time he is in his 20's.;enjoy every day, Happy Birthday, have fun;who knows what his future holds.
ReplyDeleteHope his Birthday is full of sunshine and laughter. He grows to a real smart school boy. 🍬🌼🌈🎈
ReplyDeleteJag tycker att han är lik Anthony Andrews!
ReplyDeleteÄr han en gökunge i boet? :)
DeleteO George is such a cutie. Love him!
ReplyDeleteBut to me, in the first picture left, he looks a bit like he's not having enough sleep.
But Happy Birthday! Nice that Kate always takes the photos herself, even though the last one seems not to be focussed on the face.
What an adorable little boy!
ReplyDeleteRather poor resolution for these photos. Doesn’t mean Catherine can’t take better ones. Weird she selected these. George is obviously very cute (and the casual snaps are endearing, for sure), but it almost feels like she didn’t quite have anything better prepared, so.. ‘there you go, here’s something for you folks’. Which, of course can only mean she like many of us overwhelmed with other stuff. I don’t mind if, but I am somehow surprised. My two cents.

Happy Birthday to this sweet little boy ! Love the naturalness of the photos. Something like any Mother would take of their child. It's such a joy to see how she's captured him being himself. Beautiful !
ReplyDeleteVery lovely pics of a very happy little boy. Happy 6th Birthday Prince George of Cambridge.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to Prince George.
ReplyDeleteNothing wrong with photos - I've seen them on other sites including Instagram where the resolution is just fine so I'm assuming it's the versions shared here which aren't as sharp as they could be. I also think they're nice photos and not something that she dashed off - they show a happy, playful little boy.
I think the safest thing for Catherine to do is maintain a mixture of cute, informal snaps like these (she and William should get to decide when those get taken), and formal portraits by professionals. That should please everyone!
ReplyDelete1 doubt Kate is thinking of herself as a great photographer. But a mother who prefers to take the family pictures of her children to cherish and share, like most parents and not hire in a photographer.
ReplyDeleteYes, I think it's as simple and straightforward as that. It is a thoughtful way of sharing that others can immediately relate to.
DeleteWell put, Unknown!
DeleteI am happy they shared the pics, don't have time to be hyper critical. She did not have to share them.
ReplyDeleteFeliz cumpleaños principe George
ReplyDeleteCute little boy, great pictures, nicely done!
ReplyDeleteReally everyone? These pics are fine and great. They're great because George looks so happy in them. It's not about the technique. Kate took pictures of her kid and decided to share them with the world. Rather than having official pics taken which most royals do. She's like any other parent, takes a pic of her kid on their special day. Jeez people calm down on Kate.
ReplyDeleteHe's the cutest!
