Danish Royal Court released new official photos of Prince Joachim and Princess Marie taken on the occasion of Prince Joachim's 50th birthday on June 7, 2019. Princess Marie's dress was by Rikke Gudnitz who is the designer behind the danish design brand Gudnitz Copenhagen. Her diamond earrings were by the brand Christine Hvelplund.

    The simple and flattering lines of Marie's gown are lovely, as is the rich color. The background is badly chosen as the light walls prevent contrast with Marie's tiara and make it difficult to see its details.

      Indeed Pine, now that you've mentioned it, the background lets the tiara fade away. Pity, I had to look closely too, to see which tiara she was wearing.

      .... the occasion for the new pictures was Prince Joachim's 50th birthday on June 7, as described,/'Julie'/ �� .
      Luckily we know Princess Marie will be in Denmark from time to time and take care of her patronage and cooperation with the University of Southern Denmark for new foreign students. Their stay in Paris is only from September to June 2020 …… and the family will of course be at home and take part in festivities when Queen Margrethe turns 80 to April! ❤

    Nice dress, but Maries hair style is not the best with tiara. For Joachim, heavy smoking has left the marks.

    This gown looks very much like one of the gowns Mary had on for their pre-wedding dinner's. Both gowns have a slight train, and Marie's got a portrait collar, where Mary's gown, had cap sleeves

    In my opinion, neither one looks really happy, the smiles are forced in an odd way. Coloring of the Prince is sickly. Can't quite put my finger on what is happening in the photos. Photographer did not do a good job capturing the natural warmth and smile of Marie. Maybe they were just having a bad day.

      These are official images/pics and they must radiate royal dignity not smiling happiness! Both do and Princess Marie looks stunning in that dress and colour, IMO!

    Beautiful gown, nice, yet bland, generic, been there, seen that before photos.

    Joachim, Marie or even the photographer should have attempted to do something, anything different. Instead of great photographic portraits of Joachim and Marie, the result is photos that look like carbon copies/takeoffs of photographic portraits of Frederik and Mary.

    I am sure Marie doesn't want to model herself on her husbands former wife, however it might stand Marie in good stead if she took a leaf out of Alexandra's book and upped her game and added a hint of je ne sais quoi.
