On the second day of their State visit to Germany, Belgian King Philippe and Queen Mathilde visited Lutherstadt Wittenberg city in Sachsen-Anhalt state. Lutherstadt Wittenberg is a Protestant place of pilgrimage and is regarded as the cradle or the birthplace of the Protestant Reformation. There, they were received by Prime Minister Reiner Haseloff. The King and Queen also visited Bauhaus Institute in Dessau. The King and Queen then visited DOMO Chemicals company. DOMO is a Belgian textile manufacturing group. (Queen Mathilde wore a new floral-print silk chiffon midi dress by Giambattista Valli. Princess Caroline had worn the same dress on May 8th, 2019.) |
There is something with...
ReplyDelete... pink this week!
But lovely dress, sweet and summery. Great it's not Natan this time! Good accessorized as well.
Agree with you Rosalyn.
DeleteMajesteit: ik kan alleen maar zeggen: Zo hoort het.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful summery frock, light, airy, not too busy, and in wonderful colors. The light/white colored stockings are a little outdated but other wise a great look for the Queen. The hat is a simply luscious extension of the entire outfit.
ReplyDeleteSame dress had been worn a few weeks ago by Caroline of Monaco, who wore it much beter IMO. On the latter it looked fresh and young. On Mathilde it looks like a granny dress and this in spite of the fact that Caroline is a good 15 years older. Mathilde rarely hits the fashion mail on the head.
ReplyDeleteI was just thinking the same thing! It looks matronly on Queen Mathilde (Mathilde is actually one of my absolutely favorite royal ladies so I don't mean to slight her) but it looked so fresh and pretty on Princess Caroline who is much older. I suppose that's the difference certain body types make and, unfortunately, Mathilde always styles herself so much older than her actual age.
ReplyDeleteNice dress but just not right for her.
ReplyDeleteWhy oh why had it to be that hat? Adds a boring touch to an already boring outfit. But the shoes are nice.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful dress, the Queen looks very lovely, also like the pink shoes and bag. The best attachment is the King by her side. Good looking man for almost 60.
ReplyDeleteeindelijk eens een andere ontwerper, Mathilde moet dringens haar garderobe aanpassen, de laatste tijd was er niet veel moois bij.
ReplyDeleteSo lovely and polished again! Pink certainly seems to be the colour of the month so far. I think the shoes, clutch and in particular the hat make the beautiful dress sing!
ReplyDeleteLily
A pretty dress - summery and stylish. Personally, I don't think it needs the hat.
ReplyDeleteLovely....very fresh/summery n feminine
ReplyDeleteThe outfit is a bit wedding-y but I like it including the hat. In the photos where they are sitting, the King and Queen could definitely be a couple signing the marriage register. On both Mathilde and Caroline, I think it is the length that makes it slightly frumpy.....just a couple of inches shorter would improve it greatly.
ReplyDeleteNice dress on Mathilde. Not sure if the Belgium royalty are Lutheran. As Wittenburg is certainly remembered for the reformation;Martin Luther. The Danish and Swedish Royals are Lutheran;as am I.
ReplyDelete@anon4:30h they are Roman Catholics
