On June 12, 2019, The Duchess of Cambridge attended the first annual gala dinner in honour of Addiction Awareness Week at the Spring restaurant at London’s Somerset House. Action on Addiction is a UK-based charity that works with people affected by drug and alcohol addiction. It works in the areas of research, prevention, treatment, aftercare, as well as professional education and family support. The Duchess of Cambridge has been patron since January 2012. Outstanding look on Kate. I love this dress on her. It’s elegant, yet fun and if I may add, a little sexy too.
ReplyDeleteI liked this dress the last time she wore it, and am glad to see her wear it again. I'm glad Kate wore her hair down. She looks incredible.
ReplyDeleteLOVE IT!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful hairdo for this dress! Such a form fitting silhouette is not very forgiving but D. Catherine looks stunning in it. (V.M)
ReplyDelete"Not very forgiving", ha ha! That's exactly why I for one would not wear such a dress…. Catherine looks amazing!
DeleteExcellent look for Catherine but someone needs to tell her to drop the harsh eye makeup since it ages her. She has such a fabulous figure and lovely face that would look fresh with just a hint of blush, lipstick and mascara. That dark eye shadow and eyeliner are so dated.
ReplyDeleteI agree everything is perfect except her harsh eye makeup which ages her. My understanding is she doesn't have a make-up artist which is a pity as she could really benefit from consulting with one to update her eye makeup.
DeleteAgree. I don't like the dark make-up either.
DeleteAgree 100&
DeleteFantastic!! And the shoes are just the touch that elevates this dress from cute to superb.
ReplyDeleteMarvelous...indeed...
DeleteHer hair looks a million dollars here.
ReplyDeleteHair looks great. Dress makes her look cheap;the colour is good.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I love how she and her husband work so hard for and support mental health. It's a beautiful job!
ReplyDeleteSecondly, I rarely dislike an outfit of Kate, but I didn't like it the first time she wore it, and I still don't. She is very slim, almost skinny, and for me, this dress makes her look even thinner. , don't get me wrong, it has nothing to do with bodyshaming or bashing Kate's health, condition or whatsoever. It is just my opinion on the dress; even though I know it fits perfectly and the colour is nice on her too.
Rosalyn, your comment isn't any bodyshaming at all. Why should you not say you dislike this dress on Catherine? There is nothing wrong with your opinion. Everybody has the right to say their opinion!
DeleteI for one belong to those who admire Catherines very slim figure. Probably that is because my husband and me, we go dancing two to three times a week, and we don't dance in some discohteque or club, but in a sport's association. Many of the members of this association take part in competitions (hubby and me not, for us it is only a hobby). So at least twice a week I watch our beautiful, young, very slim dancers - and then our lesson starts and I look in the mirror and see myself: an average woman in her fifties…. OUCH!
Thank you for your reaction, Coralie. You're always so kind! And yes, I also admire her slim and elegant figure. Absolutely. I only meant that this dress makes her look thinner than she is and that's a pity, in my opinion.
DeleteAnd you are always kind too, Rosalyn! I wish you a very nice day!

ReplyDeleteOutstanding in this dress because she has the figure , very slim.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Catherine.
ReplyDeleteThe dress in nice but probably not the best style for Kate, it needs some more curves. And I don't like those shoes, they look cheap (I know, they are not, but still...)
ReplyDeleteAgree. The front zipper and the stripes/panels make the dress look like a very long sweater in the shape of a dress... It reminds me of the knitted dresses/skirts that were fashionable in the 80's/90's, I had a skirt like that.... Not a fan of it, sorry
DeleteI am on the edge about this dress. Cannot classify it as an evening dress - it has too casual a fit for an evening dress - but it's not exactly a day dress either... A strange animal imo. I would not have expected this dress for a "gala dinner". But then again, I am not sure what would be the right occasion for it.. Having said that, I see the other attendees seem to be in business attire so perhaps it is just wrongly called a "gala dinner"... She can pull it off with her very slim frame but I don't think it's the best look on her, something is off with the proportions (off the shoulders with long sleeves, midi length - it doesn't sit right in my eyes)
ReplyDeleteI agree. I wonder why she wears such a dress. It looks as if it is falling off of her with the bare shoulders. It would be embarrassing to have to look her in the eyes. Also I agree about the eye makeup. Such dark eyebrows seem aggressive to me. Her look needs some softening, in my opinion.
DeleteGosh, I’m the only person who thinks a haircut is required. Slightly shorter was much more flattering and less aging.
ReplyDeleteEinfach bezaubernd wie immer , die schöne Catherine !!
ReplyDeleteCompare her eye makeup with what she wears in the story of the sheep-shearing. It was softer that day and much prettier, I'd say. The eyebrows are lighter and shorter.
ReplyDeleteI like this dress very much, she wores it fantastic.
ReplyDeleteI guess you can't please everyone for your looks Catherine but at least you're just being you warts & all and that's what matters. No games! Bravo, keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteDss Kate looks fantastic. Great dress and shoes.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous. Absolutely gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteShe's so pretty and always so well turned out!! Love the shoes!!
ReplyDeleteLoved this dress first time round and love it again. The shoes are great but the first time she wore the dress it was with high strappy sandals which I think matched it better. Agree about the heavy eye make up. She always looks even better with lighter eye make up--remember the photos of her in Vogue? Some of the best ever.
