On the evening of June 14, 2019, King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia held a Gala Dinner at Stockholm Royal Palace in honour of the President Moon Jae-in and First Lady Kim Jung-sook who are making a state visit to Sweden. Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel, Prince Carl Philip, Princess Sofia, Princess Madeleine of Sweden and Christopher O'Neill attended the gala dinner at Royal Palace in Stockholm. South Korean President Moon Jae-in and First Lady Kim Jung-sook are making a 2 day state visit to Sweden upon the invitation of the King and Queen of Sweden. |
Regal look on all the Royal ladies.Nice to see the Korean First lady to wear a National Gown as woren in her Homeland. It seems only the King Queen Victoria and Daniel received the South Korean Order, not the other members of the Family. Great Tiara event.
ReplyDeleteLovely look for all the ladies!!
ReplyDeleteQueen Silvia is the runaway winner here in my opinion. Gorgeous colour and great style making her look really slim and years younger than she is. Fabulous. I an also liking both Victoria's sparkling gown and Madeleine's smart dress but less keen on Sofia's. Great array of tiaras too. Good to see Madeleine and Chris O'Neill back in Sweden with the family.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree with you Annie M .
DeleteI agree. It's nice to see them all together and Queen Silvia looks absolutely stunning.
DeletePrincess Sofia’s look is just Lovely! The pearls just go so well with her dress and I love, love her hair. The updo is wonderful!!!
ReplyDeletekate middleton has worn the same dress
DeleteAgree!
DeleteRoyalty fan
DeleteYep, totally agree, Anon 5:47, updo is a show stopper!
But it looks better on Sofia, I must confess.
DeleteFrieda
Aaah, that's why it looked familiar. I din't like it on the Duchess either so at least my view is consistent.
DeleteTotally agree!! That updo is a winner!! Sofia knocked it out of the park. Gorgeous!!!!
DeleteI agree!! Hate the split in Kate’s dress. Just did not like it. It is a formal dress.
DeleteI like the simplicity of Sofia’s dress. It is not flashy or sparkly. Not busy. Even with the jewels. Clean lines. I even like hers without the split that the Duchess of Cambridge has in hers. Sofia’s dress doesn’t have it that I can see. It was very distracting. No need to show all that leg. And Sofia can really wear white. And the contrast with the pearls is lovely. Well done! Queen Silvia looks good in blue. She is a master at wearing her sapphires.
ReplyDeleteCouldn't have expressed it better. Sofia and Queen Silvia take top fashion honors here.
DeleteAgree!!!
DeleteAgree!!!
DeleteTotally agree!!
DeleteSilvia - looks amazing! Wonderful color.
ReplyDeleteVictoria - I just dont like this dress at all. Not a good look for me.
Madeleine - woww! Just woww ! The big winner for me.
Sofia - good but not great. The hair is better than usual but always the same tiara.
Royalty fan
DeleteWell, at least, Raquel Alves, she had it on, many times, in the past. So she get her money's worth, for this dress
Always the same tiara. Really? Maybe it is the only one offered to her. How would we know what she has available to her. Just wondering how many tiaras you have in your closet?
DeleteVirginia she was means to buy some tiaras for herself. It would be nice to see Her in another one. Yes she maybe is not offer any other. Maybe thats why she wears this one. But she did wore other already.
DeleteRoyalty fan yep. Victoria re-uses Her gowns and that excelent. This dress look great on Her. I just didnt like the pattern. ☺
Raquel; Sofia has worn her wedding tiara at least at four ways, also she has had Small Stealcut Tiara, Four Button Tiara, Six Button Tiara and Amethyst Tiara. That is at least five different tiaras so far. That is much more some major royals have ever had. Catherine has had so far three different tiaras, Mary four, Marie three, even Mathilde only three. Diana never had more that two.
DeleteSofia has been married for four years and she has already worn the Amethyst tiara, Four button tiara, Six button tiara, stealcut tiara and also her wedding tiara in numerous variations. I wouldn't call it "always the same tiara" and perhaps she just feels most comfortable with her weddong tiara.
DeleteAlso some of the tiaras are only reserved for The Queen and Crown princess, even Madeleine didn't get to wear e.g Cameo tiara for her wedding.
Very true! People also need to realize that her wedding tiara was a gift from the King and Queen. Made from some of the Queen’s jewels. I love the variations and the changes Sofia has made to the base. But this is her very own tiara. The one that she was wearing when she became a princess. It will always be a special one for her. She will
DeleteWear others again. And she will have lots of opportunities. Her situation is also unique. She can get More stones to make her Wedding tiara totally different also. No one else can really do that. It will be curious to see what happens.
Raquel; I don´t think she is going to buy any new tiaras. In Sweden most of tiaras are owned by Bernadotte Foundation, what makes that all royal ladies can borrow them. Only Braganza Tiara is to queens, Leuchtenburg Saphire and Nine Prong mostly to senior ladys. There is still a very handy collection where to choose from.
DeleteSome tiaras are owned by individuals, King owns Cameo Tiara and Edwardian Ruby Tiara, Silvia or Madeline own Modern Fringe Tiara (what is not a modern tiara but in name, possible wedding gift to Madeline), Victoria owns Laurel Leaf Tiara + mystic tiara nobody has seen ever and Sofie of course owns her Wedding Gift Tiara.
Blondiini, exactly that I was saying. She wore other tiaras before. It isnt So "out of line" to say it would be nice to see Her in another one.
DeleteShe wore other tiaras many times once. If u count all the tiara assignments she rarely wears other than this one. She had like 25 tiara engagements in 4 years, she wore a diferent tiara like 5 times.
I also would like So see Kate in another rather than the "Diana tiara". Kate also has other choices vivem to Her im sure. The " Diana" thing it a bit exausting.
So geht dezentes Augen-/Make-up.
There was a big Gala-Dinner at the castle in Oslo as well,, but unfortunately the Queen was ill, and princess Astrid was the only one of the princesses that attended. No picture has been shown of her,, but I am quite sure that she turned up in full gala.
DeleteStimmt.

Silvia looks outstanding! Everything is perfect: The dress, colour and cut... and the tiara is just jaw-dropping! Stunning.
ReplyDeleteVictoria, Madeleine and Sofia look good, but not a wow-effect for me. The dress Sofia wears, was worn before by Kate and a celebrity (I forgot her name). It's fine, just like Victoria and Madeleine, but not memorable.
Queen Silvia is looking divine. Sofia is as well an eye-catcher with her exquisite updo and so CP Victoria. Princess Madleines dress reminds me on Letizia, who wore a comparable dress in South America. Wonderful that both princesses take their roles seriously and feel comfortable with and that are recognised and valued by the others.
ReplyDeleteSí, el vestido de Magdalena es muy parecido al que llevó Letizia en Argentina.
DeleteSofia is just stunning.
DeleteLa garniture trop brillante de l’encolure de la robe de Victoria tue le diadème qui n’a plus d’éclat .
ReplyDeleteThe royal family looks fabulous. Even Chris O'Neil smiles happily.
ReplyDeleteAll ladies look fantastic. Each in different styles that suit them perfectly. It was great surprise to see Madeleine at the tiara event. I've missed her.
ReplyDeleteAnd the Korean first lady...also wonderful look.
ET
Sofia bra is not good. Her breasts are talking..
ReplyDeleteTalking?? I mean falling...
Delete?!?!?
DeleteThank you for your comment. The same goes for Silvia. Time for both of them to get some new bras to give their bossoms a lift.
DeleteMême si la robe est jolie, je me disais justement que la princesse Sofia ne portait sûrement pas le bon soutien-gorge. Par contre, j'aime sa coiffure.
DeleteErm... okay Anja? And what exactly do they say?
DeleteO sorry Anja, I've seen your other comment too ;-) It was funny to read though 😁
DeleteI for one don't mind. It's often difficult to find the right bra that fits you and also suitable for your dress. And I've seen a lot worse with other royals...
They say lift Me..
DeleteJa ja ja Anja!
DeleteAnja you are So funny. I agree she could use some help but the queen nedds more help I think.
DeleteRosalyn, it's not difficult to get the appropriate bra, for us regular people, all you have to do is go to a top department store, and they can properly measure and recommend the best brand, their choices are a little on the expensive side but worth every penny , I did it many years ago, and found out that I have been buying the wrong size all along, nowadays you can even get fantastic undergarments on line. I imagine that these royals probably have access to very good experts. Sometimes women don't realize how much they can improve until they see pictures.
ReplyDeleteQueen Silvia is 75, mother of three kids, so its unavoidable that her boobs are no longer high and perky. Sofia is in her early 30s, so her boobs shouln't be so low. But indeed good supportive bra can do wonders and offer very good support; as a bonus your clothes will fit more better. Perhaps they should ask where Victoria gets her undergarments, her bras are always very flattering to her bust.
DeleteThe Queen's dress is lovely - beautiful colour and simple, elegant style. Victoria is looking a little like a luxury chocolate to me, Madeleine looks ok but it's not my favourite look. I Sofia's dress very much chatting bosoms notwithstanding. :-)
ReplyDeleteI guess I´ll be the only not liking Sofia´s updo. And not Madeleine´s either. Both look sloppy to me, not really living up to a white tie gala dinner. For an effortless cocktail look absolutely, but not with tiaras.
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of Madeleine´s dress, but it doesn´t move well. Looks heavy and bulky when she walks, and it creases despite of the slit in the back.
Sofia´s dress is nice, and I agree with those saying that it looks better without a slit. Sofia looks great in white, but this dress has a slight nighty-vibe unfortunately. It either needed short sleeves (or sleeveless), or different neckline.
Victoria - nice. I like this dress. I have always wished though that it was a sturdier fabric. It looks so thin and almost stretchy.
I love Silvia´s dress. So lovely and so flattering. She looks fantastic.
The hanbok is beautiful.
Lastly, I feel that most of the dresses aren´t really well matched with the respective sashes. Madeleine´s combo is fine, but Silvia`s colours don´t go together well, Sofia´s dress and sash have too little contrast, Victoria´s pink and gold aren´t ideal either. The hanbok´s design elements are fighting with the sash.

Madeleine looks so beautiful. It looks like she has lately lost lots of wweight, she looks very slim but nicely slim. Love her dress. Stunning.
ReplyDeleteSofia's hairdo looks very lovely, her white gown a little too simple for the tiara event but still very pretty look.
Victoria's golden dress clashes with her tiara and pink sash. Not my favorite look from her.
Silvia looks very elegant. Simple but beautiful.
Silvia - simple and elegant dress with very nice color. She has very good figure and knows what suits her.
ReplyDeleteMadeleine looks stunning. She has such a good posture and grace. Love her dress.
Sofia is also very lovely in white. Its good to see how versatile her tiara is.
Victoria, very busy look - shiny dress, shiny thing around her neck, glittering tiara, she looks like a christmas tree and overdone.
