  1. Lovely Empr Masako again; but what a pity that the styling of their clothes is apparently so strict, so that you can hardly notice a difference with the one a few days earlier.

The soft blue is lovely on the Empress. Maybe over time she will experiment with other silhouettes, but it’s early days in her “job” and she’s sticking to what is familiar. That’s good. It’s interesting that the younger princesses are there too, and wearing hats. (V.M.)

Very similar, if not identical, hats.

  3. Sitting at a table for luncheon with hats on (the princesses)? Very odd.

Not if you're in Japan. I'm thinking a mix-up in the memos regarding luncheon attire. Knowing the Imperial Household's penchant for perfection, I'm sure some imperial courtier got a reprimand.

Lovely look on Masako. She just looks radiant. Brigitte looks fantastic. Love her dress.

I really like this shade of blue on her, it looks fresh and lovely.
But more than that, I'm loving seeing her being genuinely engaged with President and Mrs. Macron. The warm, smiling looks on her face in these interactions makes me very happy and I hope she continues to blossom in this role once past the early months (or even a year) of navigating her way around.

  8. Oh I wish they would come into the 21st century and allow them to dress. Those suits and hats and gloves and muted boring colors are awful.

    1. Let's just say Brigitte's clothing is a bit too young for her, and the Japanese's outfits too old for them, if they could just switch. I am sure Mme. Macron does't want to be labelled as 'that old bag Macron married'but she seems to be striving way too hard to look young, and younger than her husband.

Forget the fashion, Masako animated and excited, probably practising her french, wonderful. Here's to more days like this for her.

Empress Masako has really come into her own... and it is a most wonderful thing to see. She is highly accomplished; her skills, knowledge and experience can contribute much to the Japanese Royal Family and Japan as a country. Perhaps she can bring a sense of modernity whilst maintaining all the cultural values and practices

  12. I think if Madame Macron's dresses fell just below the knee it would look better. Otherwise, the dress is beautiful and perfectly age appropriate.

    1. I agree. Also, lose the long obvious zipper on the back of the dress, and it'd be just about perfect!

Wow, the dress on Mme Macron is beautiful, very classy. (Personally, I would add another 5 cm, but major details).

Empress Masako looks stunning in the baby blue suit. The texture of the jacket is lovely. Her interaction with President Macron and Madam Macron are warm and real. Madame Macrons dress is a classic Dior? this is her go to designer. Both Ladies really grew into their role. Lovely.
