The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have shared behind-the-scenes images from their big day at Windsor Castle as they celebrate their first wedding anniversary. On the Instagram post, The Duke and Duchess wrote: "Thank you for all of the love and support from so many of you around the world. Each of you made this day even more meaningful". Happy one-year wedding anniversary to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex! |
Her dress was very stunning, but to me it didn't carry the same majestic vibe of the other royal weddings I've followed in the last 15 or so years. It has nothing to do with her nationality or race, so no attacks, please. Regardless of the chic and expensive clothing she has access to, she is lacking that special presence.
ReplyDeleteI agree. perhaps if she would make peace with her family, it would help change her image, her smiles will seem more genuine. inviting them to Archie's christening would be a great start
DeletePasha, I fail to see the need to preempt any responses to your comment, it sounds rather defensive. I personally would have never thought that your comment had anything to do with her ethnicity, until you brought it up. I also disagree with your opinion about the special presence, but then again that is the beauty of the difference of opinions.
DeleteI totally agree with you.
DeletePhotos on insta when at the same time they say they wanted privacy?
DeleteIn a british newspaper someone said Harry and Meghan take the mystic away from the BRF, as they behave like celebs. I think that's it.
Coralie, completely agree with you.
DeleteIt's unfortunate that any non positive comments made about Meghan has to be followed by 'it's not about her race or nationality'. If not, the comment is attacked ! It has been seen on here time and time again. So I understand Pasha Kitty having said it.
DeleteI feel personally let Down Boy Thies comment.
DeleteThat was a really magical day. Lovely wedding it was. It is also nice to see some of these photos that we had not seen before. I wish them the best in the coming years.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you.
DeleteThe photo of Harry thumbing for a ride is so casual for a member of the Royal Family, it's hilarious. Lovely behind the scenes pics. They really are setting a new course for themselves as royals.
ReplyDeleteI remember Diana doing that once too! She and other members of the RF were leaving some function or other and there was a whole line of cars to pick them up and - I guess the drivers had specific "assignments" as to who they were to pick up - the cars kept whizzing by but none were stopping in front of Diana. So she finally, playfully, put her thumb out. LOL!
DeleteTheirs was a wedding to remember, both for the very lovely, inclusive elements and few distasteful ones.
ReplyDeleteNice pictures, for me this was one of the best royal wedding dresses, so simple, clean and crisp. I personally find Meghan very elegant, so far away from the overly ornate, and rather antiquated style of many royals. She often reminds me of Audrey Hepburn, not to say that they look alike!!
ReplyDeletePersonally, I feel that both brothers have found two very special women, you may agree with their fashion sense or not, but they surely have that unique quality that make people interested and not indifferent.
Interesting, I have not ever seen any likeness to Audrey Hepburn. But each to their own opinion.
DeleteAnonymous, like I said " not that they look alike", but just to clarify.... some people have a certain aura ( so to speak) that reminds us of other, maybe the smile, or the clothing, or just a certain style, is just an impression nothing to do with physical features.
DeleteGood day.
Many in America who watched Suits and are old enough to remember Ms Hepburn would disagree with Cherry Blossom. That may be what Anon 2:47 was trying to say. The acting and persona of these women is quite different in my opinion. Good day to all.
DeleteOh my goodness! Audrey had a simplicity of style. Her clothes had simple lines, her jewelry was simple. She had a simple elegance that is considered timeless, even today. She was able to walk away from her career for her family. The last part of her life was dedicated to UNICEF.
DeleteI think Cherry is just trying to point out that both women prefer(ed) simple lines, not overly embellished looks. You could call it the "less is more" way of dressing. It is the style I personally prefer as opposed to having so much going on that the eye does not know what to look at. I did not, for one moment, think she was trying to compare their acting or their physical appearance.
@chardonn8r, I am glad to read that you get the meaning of my comment, perhaps I didn't make myself clear, or people just read what they want to read. I am not even sure about how a role in film can define any person at all, furthermoreI have never seen an episode of suits (not my thing) so definitely wasn't giving an opinion on that subject. Yes, simple lines, neutral colors, small frame, the curve of the neck, just a reminiscence.
DeleteHave a "fantabulous day" 😄
I agree. Meghan has the same warmth, sincerity and kindness that was the very essence of Audrey Hepburn.
DeleteLike Audrey Hepburn, Meghan is very much a woman of her own style. I like that Meghan hasn’t “conformed” to a certain style, and her outfits are always age appropriate and event appropriate.
Very nice pictures. Victoria's dress was the most beautiful royal wedding dress imo, Meghan's is second on the row. Pure style, timeless beauty.
ReplyDeleteI agree; I like these clean crisp dresses that lets the flowers and veil stand out. Victoria's dress fitted to perfection, this is the only quibble I have with the dress of Meghan. They make out such a wonderful couple.
DeleteAgree. Victoria’s dress was perfection, the clean lines and Victoria’s radiant happiness.
DeleteBeautiful wedding!! Her entrance into the church was spectacular!! I love her dress, she was gorgeous in it!!
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree with you, her entrance into the church was moving - charming and ethereal. She did not seem like she won the lottery as some others bride or groom, she was modest. I appreciate that.
DeleteBrings back memories from a year ago. Very nice dress. Happy 1st Anniversary.
ReplyDeleteElle a autant d’élégance et de prestance que d’autres avant elle soyons quand même honnête elle est sublime je suis pas fan d’elle mais il faut dire les choses telles qu’elles sont.
ReplyDeleteGoodness, some chippy replies on here today! Whew! Anyway, ...
ReplyDeleteThank you, to the Duke & Duchess of Sussex for sharing some of the personal snaps of the big day. Personally, I think some of the black and white photos help to illustrate some of the finer details of her dress and veil ... as well as the emotions of the two of them. The one where she's being handed her bouquet almost looks like a photo from the 1950's because of the clean lines of the dress, etc., imo. Timeless. Classic.
I liked her and her style, but was very disappointed when I read Harry had not even met her father, and he wasn't invited to the wedding or to see his grandson. All families have problems, but that's her father.
ReplyDeleteAnd that it's none of your business. You know nothing about their family dynamics, and throwing opinions about situations that you have absolutely no clue it's just nothing but gossip.
DeleteIt would be great if people would stop being so nosy about the private lives of others!! This family ( and that includes Meghan) have the right to keep their private life to themselves. I have nothing but respect for her, having to deal with a family of leeches that are constantly trying to make a buck by spreading all kinds of ridiculous stories. Meghan, and her mother as well, show an incredible amount of dignity, having to face all the toxic relatives and internet trolls.
@ Ninius
DeleteHe *was* invited to the wedding, etc. and he had only ONE JOB to do - show up on time and walk her down the ale - yet he found a way to screw that up! *That,* as it turns out, was only the tip of the iceberg. Megan and Harry et al has since given him plenty of time to get his act together and get with program but he has refused. So this is on him, not them. Perhaps in time .... but I wouldn't hold my breath.
It is a nice idea to share the pictures but I am disappointed in the quality of them. They could be so much sharper. Today's cameras can do wonderful photos, so why are these so poor?
ReplyDeleteLovely photos of a gorgeous couple!
ReplyDeleteSimple, elegant wedding dress, as was Kate Middleton's. As much as I admired Princess Diana later style, I thought her wedding dress with all the bows and accoutrements simply overdone. It completely overshadowed her beauty.
