On May 21, 2019, Queen Elizabeth II hosted a Garden Party in the grounds of Buckingham Palace. Garden Parties are a way for The Queen to meet people from around the UK and this is the first party The Queen is hosting this year. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge accompanied The Queen at today’s Garden Party. (The Duchess of Cambridge wore a bespoke soft pink coatdress by Alexander McQueen). |
The Duke of York, The Earl and Countess of Wessex, The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, The Duke of Kent and Princess Alexandra also attended the event. Last week, The Prince of Wales accompanied by The Duchess of Cornwall and The Princess Royal, hosted a Garden Party on behalf of The Queen. Over the next few weeks two more Garden Parties will take place at Buckingham Palace. |
I think Kate looks wonderful today. What a nice colour for her. I’ve been getting a bit sick of all of the floral dresses lately. Sophie’s outfit looks good too - hat and dress beautifully coordinated.
ReplyDeleteSophie's dress is amazing and she looks fantastic in it. Does anyone know the maker? Thank you.
ReplyDeleteEmilia Wickstead....she wore it to Ascot last year.
DeleteNah for the lady in the ice blue dress and hot pink jacket, Sophie's dress and even Alexandra's dress and matching hat. Otherwise, always nice to see Sophie and Alexandra.
ReplyDeletevery typical Kate style, i would have preferred a more summery dress. this looks more church service kind of dress
ReplyDeleteCatherine in her classic-english-rose-outfit and William are wonderful! Both of them!
ReplyDeleteTotally agree ... marvelous ... I love this english dress code ... what a perfect matching couple ...
DeleteI beg to dissent, but the passage oft time hasn't been too kind to William; he looks like a man well into his forties.
DeleteYawn another boring coat dress for Kate. I'm glad that she has a style that she likes and sticks to it. But she just looks so old fashioned.
ReplyDeleteAlso, she is way too young to have a pre defined style. I appreciate that she wants to take her Majesty’s approach, but the Queen wasn’t dressing in this uninteresting way when she was in her 30s (and she was already THE Queen, not the second one line). I see the point wheee Catherine doesn’t want the conversation to be about her clothes, but this kind of choices don’t stop people from talking, I’m afraid they only for uninteresting showings, sartorially speaking. I think she would be better off embracing it (the popularity of her clothes) rather than fighting it. If you can’t beat the madness (cause it is sometimes even grotesque how much conversation it sparks), then you might as well have some fun with it. A saccharine pink version of a coat dress she has worn in a dozen other colours/fabrics isn’t something to get excited about. What would have been wrong with re-wearing one of the many very similar ones she has buried in her closet after the only one wear? How about the cream almost identical coatdress she wore a few years back (2014) in Belgium for WWI event?
ReplyDeletehave to disagree, Anon 1:44. She looks brilliant here--great cut, great colour, good length She looked far more frumpy in the supposedly fashionable flowery thing she wore on Monday
ReplyDeleteAll the Royal Ladies look is wonderful. It is so nice that these dresses are recycled.
ReplyDeleteHerzogin Catherine wie immer eine Augenweide, an Eleganz und Schönheit einfach nicht zu übertreffen ; BEZAUBERND
ReplyDeleteKate looks pretty in pink, yet I find the ensemble a little old fashioned
ReplyDeleteTypical Kate's uniform
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of the double button row, so the cut is not my favorite, but colour, makeup, hair ..all the other choices are just lovely.
