Princess Caroline and Prince Albert visited the 51th Monaco Flower Contest

On May 7, Princess Caroline and Prince Albert visited the 51th Monaco International Flower Contest (Concours de Bouquets) held by Garden Club at Monaco Fontvieille Park. Princess Caroline presided over the contest, while accompanied by Prince Albert. Since the year of 1968, Monaco Garden Club has been holding a bouquet contest every year among 100-150 contestants including those coming from distant countries. Contestants of the 51th "International Bouquet Contest" competed with compositions that have the theme of "the climate". Enrico Barla became the winner of Princess Grace Award. Children between the ages of 8 and 18 took part in this year's contest. The gold medal winner was a young Monegasque, Appoline Marzi.

Interesting that she wear a more variety of designer after Lagerfeld’s passing.

  5. And this is a true spring floral, feminine & sophisticated, nothing to do with little house on the prairie models that some royals are sporting these day. Love the shoes, earrings and the green pashmina, every detail right on point.
Caroline has always been so elegant and continues to delight.

    1. I fully agree with your assessment - I, too, can see a vast difference in elegance between Caroline´s outfit here and most of the floral dresses we´ve seen on other royals. I´m trying to analyse what exactly it is that makes this so much more successful, and I think it is mainly the excellent fit (no shapelessness) and the right styling/accessories.
I also think that "less is more" also applies to florals, and Caroline´s print is very pleasant on the eyes, so some flower patterns sprinkled over the fabric, and in soft colours as well, seem to be a better recipe than those all-over mille-fleur kind of prints that makes the wearer disappear in a wall of flowers and the observer dizzy from looking at it.
Finally, Caroline might just look so refreshing because she hasn´t worn a million floral flocks before (while the others wear almost anything but).

    2. C’est un peu plus classe que Victoria. Mais une est chez H&M ,l’autre dans la haute couture.

Love how she wears these different designers for this event - wasnt it that red and white Prada dress last time?
