On May 8, 2019, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex posed with their newborn son during a photocall in St George's Hall at Windsor Castle in Windsor. The Duchess of Sussex gave birth to a boy at 05:26 on Monday, May 6, 2019. (The Duchess wore a bespoke cream trench-style dress designed by British fashion designer Grace Wales Bonner.) |
Today, The Duke and Duchess shared photos on their official account with the following message. "Today The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are delighted to share their first public moment as a family. They are so incredibly grateful for the warm wishes and support they’ve received from everyone around the world, since welcoming their son two days ago." |
Happy, beautiful family. That coatdress is very nice.
ReplyDeleteThe baby is deliciously beautiful. I see why Harry said it's to die for. He is seriously cute. William's kids are cute now, but were not that cute as babies. Little Archie is absolutely adorable. Queen's smile to him is priceless. She looks so relaxed around Meghan.
DeleteAbsolutely.
DeleteHalleluja!
ReplyDeleteHow happy Meghan and Harry will be with this miracle!

DeleteIt's not disagreeable--it is true. Firstly, the photos of the family are lovely and it is great to see the way they both, but especially Harry look at their boy as if they just can't believe their luck. Meghan looks fantastic but there was no need to appear in such an unflattering dress. The Duchess of Cambridge left hospital with very visible post partum bumps in every case but chose to wear something more flattering. I felt as if she was saying "You can make me appear for the cameras but I will NOT try to look good"--although her make up was beautifully applied and her hair looked fantastic. Hope they enjoy the next weeks together and have a baby who sleeps!
DeleteAnnieM, this is how 90% of real women look postpartum. Some choose to hide it, and and others are self assured and don't need barriers to disguise it. I like that she is not contributing to the craze of famous women that pose a week after delivery with a six pack. If that was the case we will continue to hide the belly during pregnancy to avoid being called "unflattering " . I am sure that this woman who seems to be rather educated, will give her body time to go back to pre pregnancy and won't pose with outfits to disguise what nature intended.
DeleteToo well I know it, Cherry Blossom. After the birth of my first son, I still remember my dismay at the residual bump, which I don't think anyone had warned me about. I totally agree about the "celebs" who pose with unfeasibly skinny silhouettes immediately after the birth but I still maintain that Meghan could have chosen something more flattering, without appearing too glamorous.
DeleteAbsolutely right, Cherry Blossom. This is a real post partum body and there is nothing wrong with it. It produced a beautiful baby and is to be celebrated. I love the coat dress. And, once again, it seems that Meghan runs hot as she frequently favors sleeveless clothes and no hose. She just doesn't seem to feel the cold as much as some. The Queen was in a sweater and Doria was covered in a shawl.
DeleteAgree with Cherry Blossom, well said.
DeleteI love this pictures!! Look at this cute bundle of joy. It seems to me, that there is a light shimmer of dark hair under his white baby cap. Oh this little baby boy named Archie Harrison is so cute. I`m so glad to see more pictures of him in near future! And look at his parents, they shine full of happiness and proud
ReplyDeleteWhat a precious little boy!I might be wrong, but I think they chose the middle name Harrison since it literally means harry's son. It's not a horrible name, just a very surprising one. Archie was unexpected but somehow it fits I think. To me it's both a very upper class British name while still being all modern and hipster-y.
ReplyDeleteAny way, the Queen allowed the names so they can't be that bad, haha. And really as in all other cases it is up to the parents to name their child. It could be worse, I just read about a couple who tried to name their child Sparrow...
They are in a state of bliss, so wonderful! Little Archie Harrison is adorable. Meghan looks beautiful, and has dressed her body well. There is a lovely picture of Harry, Meghan, Doria and the baby visiting the Queen and Prince Philip on another site. The Queen and Philip look so happy! This little guy is very loved, very blessed and very welcome.
ReplyDeleteI am with Diane. I would love to know how they came up with his name. He will probably be very grateful as he grows up that he has not been given a title.
Harrison = son of Harry. That's nice. Archie... well, quite a name you need to get used to. You need to see the pics with the Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh and Doria Ragland! Priceless!
ReplyDelete“Archie Harrison” … o-k-a-y. Well, I knew it wasn’t going to be Rahiem or De-Andre (lol) but Archie? Not even the more formal “Archibald” but just Archie. Humph. I’m sure it means something special to them and, I’ve always said that with everything a woman goes through to have a baby – the pregnancy, the birth itself, the aftermath of trying to take possession of your own body again (forget about trying to actually getting back “in shape” you just want to feel like *you* again) – you can [darn] well name him/her whatever the [heck] you want! I don’t really like the name Archie but I dislike even more when people (especially family and friends, society) try to pressure parents into naming a child after a certain standard. So cheers to Archie, Lord/Earl Dumbarton! Rock on little man! (Maybe he’ll grow up to marry an “Apple” or a “Destiny Moonbeam.”) And what a wonderful little family you’re a part of! Blessed.
ReplyDeleteLovely family, they are shining happiness. Stylish dress choice.
ReplyDeleteI see them calling him Harrison! I hope~
ReplyDeleteI really hope not! Not mad keen on Archie, though it is a good Scottish name but certainly prefer it to Harrison.

DeleteA truly enchanting family.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely Family.Nice dress on Meghan. Really this little boy has his first photo shoot and he is sleeping and miss the whole thing. Oh well there will be more to come. Archie Harrison Mountbattan Windsor Welcome to the World. He the little boy is a real cutie.
ReplyDeleteEveryone looks good; the nice basic summer dress is great and I'm very glad that Meghan avoided an overly-styled, self-consciously glamorous look for this photo shoot. Kudos to her for that. I will admit to just one small gripe, not about glamor but just grooming: I wish she had pulled her hair into a simple ponytail, as the back view shown is disheveled looking. Otherwise, spot-on.
ReplyDeletePrince George's nickname is Archie. So... out of all the boys' names in the whole entire world, Harry & Meghan chose - ta-da! Archie.
ReplyDeleteUndeniably, it is a very puzzling choice given that coincidence. I wonder if perhaps Harry had a close Army friend named Archie who did not make it home? That is an explanation that would make sense.
DeleteAll I heard was George introduced himself as Archie to some other children once, not that it was a regular nickname.
DeleteSometimes, it's possible to see motives that never existed.
Franny, as usual you are full of common sense. People do love to spin anything to throw shade even on the most momentous occasions..... ugh!!
DeleteI am so happy for this family. It's wonderful to see their delight and happiness. They are definitely overjoyed en literally beaming.
ReplyDeleteWish them all the best!
(I do not like her dress though, but that doesn't matter! ;-))
