On May 1, 2019, Wednesday, with a ritual held at the Imperial Palace, Naruhito inherited the royal regalia that serves as ceremonial proof of his ascension, including a sacred sword and jewels. Japan's new Emperor Naruhito and new Empress Masako attended a ceremony called Sokui-go-Choken-no-gi, his first audience after the accession to the throne, at the Imperial Palace. Crown Prince Fumihito, Crown Princess Kiko, Princesses Mako and Kako were present at the ceremony. On October 22, ceremonies will be held with the attendance of heads of state and government from around the world in order to celebrate the new "Reiwa" era. |
Empress Masako looks lovely. I wish her and the Emperor a happy, healthy road ahead.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations for their first steps on 1st May, and best wishes to the new imperial couple.
ReplyDeleteMasako looks great.
... also, all the ladies seem to have the same lipstick or gloss. Are they bought by the imperial house as grouped purchase!? knowing their rules about no individual initiative.
ReplyDeleteThe ladies do look basically the same. Last night, I was looking at a picture of Masako holding baby Aiko. If Aiko hadn't been a baby in the picture to mark the age of the photo, it could have been taken a week ago. Her hat and coat haven't changed at all. From having no real value as a woman, to showing no individuality as a member of the Imperial Family, it must be very difficult for these women.
DeleteI hope now with a new emperor and empress the imperial household agency can modernize a bit but wow what a family and archaic institution where you live in the 21st century but force to live like you in the 19th century. I hope I see Empress Masako in nice dresses like the one queen Maxima or queen Mathilde have been wearing
DeleteVous rêvez !!!
DeleteEmpress Masako looks regal, radiant and elegant.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful and gracious Lady she is. I wish them both a long life happiness and may they reign for many years.
ReplyDeleteYes. The two heirs they have.
DeleteThis is the only monarchy that the grandmother, daughters (in-law) and granddaughters wear the same style of clothes. From age 20 to 80 the fashion, hair and makeup is the same and interchangeable. The lack of individuality is oppressive and for the sake of her mental, emotional and physical health, I hope being the Empress will allow Empress Masako a bit more freedom now.
ReplyDeleteLa ex-emperatriz se vestida excelente
