On the second day of their visit to Germany, on May 21, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima visited Rostock. Rostock is a city in the north German state Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The King and The Queen visited MV Werften shipyard, and "Die Scheune" cultural center in Rostock. (The Queen wore a jacket and skirt by Mattijs van Bergen). |

ReplyDeleteI agree with everything you said. In the 6th photo it becomes clear that her skirt is just 3 inches too short. If it ended just last her knee-caps I think it would be very elegant. And while I’m not a big fan of black shoes, I think they would be more successful here than the nude ones. Matte- not shiny-hose would be fine (and keep her legs warm). As for her jewelry she needs to choose. Either she lose the pendants from her earrings (and keep the stud pearls) or she lose the necklace. I rarely feel dangly earrings AND a necklace work well together. Also, with that flower pinned to her lapel she could lose the brooch. Her hat and bag don’t work well with this either. BUT because of her effervescent smile and ability to make everyone around her smile, she could wear a paper bag and everyone would forgive her! Lol

DeleteSheer pantyhose, even those of the best quality, can look too shiny in pictures although they're not, because they reflect easily the light of the flashes. In most of the pics the legs of the Queen look very nice, with just a hint of a glow.

DeleteOHH, NO!!This outfit looks sloppy and cheap, the fabric is too shiny and the hat looks unfinished, and over all like a las minute addition.

ReplyDeleteWhat really puzzles me though is a) why would the designer use the print-fabric up side down; and b) how can the inside of the hat magically go from white to beige in the last picture?
So many things wrong. She needs a full length mirror by the door of her palace or wherever she lives. Her smile just doesn't cut it for me.

ReplyDeleteShiny pantyhose aren’t flattering. Sadly Maxima’s frock is too short and maybe it’s the pantyhose, but I think lower heals would be more flattering.
ReplyDeleteTo me, her look is a jumble of too many kinds of things and they don't mix well. The thing most glaring is the really poorly-made hat: wrinkly lining, poor application of the border underneath. Someone just threw it together. As many have said already, that skirt is too short. It is a teenager look.
