She looks much better in the camouflage army gear than in that dress, although the pattern of the dress could work as camouflage as well.
That dress looks just sad. It has no shape whatsoever, the print is ugly, the colours are depressing (especially for spring). Those mouse gray pumps look completely lifeless. Her hairstyling is unflattering (same old story), and those earrings are totally random. Did someone really think that this would look good?
When I see the other people on stage during the award ceremony, I must say that Sweden has a fashion problem. They used to be leading the way, but now they gone astray.

    1. Vanessa, we’ve had our differences before but this time I do agree with you. I think ugly is the word that does describe this dress. We would give up but occasionally she pulls off a lovely outfit and gives us hope.

    2. When I saw the 2nd photo, I said :"elle fait vielle memere", then I saw her in the camouflage and agree she looks far better there. She's 41, not 71 !

The colors and print were a nice change from just 'floral' prints and the color of shoes complimented the outfit. CPV was cute in the camouflage, she is such a lovely woman, interacts well with anyone she meets. Great job Princess Victoria!

Agree 100% about the change she is looking stylish and chic as Queen Silvia.

Not my favorite dress, but Victoria make it work for her. I must say the camouflage looks good on her too.

How sad that such a beautiful woman cannot find someone to advise her on fashionable choices. Perhaps she should seek the help of her mother.

  5. After the beautiful streamlined elegance of the ladies in Japan and Monaco, I glanced at picture 1 and my heart just sank. This dress is frumpy, shapeless and plain ugly. The dress worn by the pregnant lady with the bird's nest hat is just about as bad and her shoes are worse but the colours are slightly better. I may be remembering incorrectly, but is this mania for florals and overpatterened outfits not a relatively new thing? can't end soon enough for me

  6. Ugly dress, bad color and fit. Ugly shoes. Horrible old grandma hair. Why oh why nobody around tells her she needs to dress better, cut her hair and look like the young woman she is. it's maddening. Everybody seems to think her smile is enough, well this is fashion we're talking about in this forum, and her sense of style is a big fat 0

Oh look what a surprise, Victoria is wearing another ugly frumpy dress!
What has happened to her style?
Just a few years ago (I'd say right before she was pregnant with Oscar) she looked great.
    Elegant, feminine, youthful, stylish.
But now. She's either in these frumpy matronly dresses. Or those hideous masculine suits.

    1. That's true.. She had great style when she was pregnant with Estelle. Ponytail made her look young and it was casual, I liked her jewellery, lots of bracelets, long necklace, big earrings. She looked fresh and young in many serious ocasions. Her current style is sad. Bun is awful and I hate masculine suits. She dresses like she's blind.

That last bit was rude of you to say, not funny at all. No need to be uncivil here.

Frumpy dresses seem to be a part of current fashion, so in fact Victoria is dressing fashionably. If you don’t like her dresses or hair etc., then it’s better to say nothing than write rude and ugly things.

Victoria must be a very nice woman, but the way she dresses is aweful. Why would a young woman want to look so old. I know 60/70 old women who look much and much younger and better. Maybe she thinks that dressing this old fashioned way makes a more serious impression? Pls take a look at Letizia and Mary, they know how to dress stylish and young. And always and always that very unflattering hairstyle.

  14. I am curious about the lady in the ‘hair hat’. Interesting. I like Victoria’s dress n shoe colour n interested in the idea of the event which to me supersedes clothing discussion which gets very boring.

Quite nice outfit. She is a lovely woman. All the negative comments are personal opinions, which we are all entitled to. Each of us has a different perspective of 'fashion'. If you saw the dress in person, or in other photos, it is nicer looking.

There was a time when I associated Sweden with nice, clean, simple but beautiful and stylish elegance. I am not sure if the whole country has changed, but certainly by looking at Victoria it would be the last thing that would come to mind. I am somewhat puzzled by her immaturity, as the only thing I can say about her style (or lack there-of) is that she seems to struggle between manly suits that mostly don’t fit her and a sea of flowers (or other patterns) by way of huge, shapeless dresses that engulf her. Puzzled bc she isn’t 20 anymore, she knows since she was born what her destiny is and what her life will look like and yet somehow she is possibly the worst dressed royal (seems to me, as a separate note, that she could benefit from friendly chat with any of a number of ‘new’ royal ladies who have mastered this dilemma). Not saying that bc she isn’t matching my personal view of what a royal should wear, but bc she has no style to show her personality and brand (the latter being critical in her role) - she is at best just jumping from trend to another. I find she also looks uncomfortable in her clothes as well. To quote Marie Kondo, she certainly doesn’t look like her outfits make her happy. The notable exception is when she is on her hiking tours (which I find exceptionally wonderful and indeed brand-defining). If sporty and relaxed is her natural style, there’s a lot she can do with that. It would make for a wonderful starting point for a whole image overhaul. Certainly there must be a stylist I Sweden who can guide her through that!

Not the best look but she some.how. makes it work - though if her hair were down, overall look might have been a lot softer. And let's agree that no one's perfect - Madeleine has the best fashion sense but it's Victoria with a great sense of responsibility which is just fantastic as the future head of monarch.

I actually don´t think that Madeleine has a much better sense of fashion. I find myself not liking most of what she wears.
The only Swedish lady with a good taste in clothing is Silvia, if you ask me. She dresses very well, and I can hardly remember an occasion where I thought that she had made unfortunate choices. And most of all, she manages to look current today without following short-lived trends. You can look at older photos of her, and very few outfits look dated.
Silvia has gorgeous, thick hair, and so do her daughters. Madeleine uses this to her advantage; Victoria unfortunately doesn´t. Hers is maybe a bit harder to manage, but it can be done, and with fantastic results. It´s a pity to waste so much potential.
It hurts me because I really like her.

Thanks for your reply! Yes, I do agree that Queen Silvia is just perfect all the time, in fact, she's impeccable - but I was making comparisons between the sisters :)
That said, perhaps with time, both daughters will take after their mother in all the senses of the word. They got good looks to begin with.
