Unglaublich, wie ähnlich sie ihrer Mutter auf dem Bild, wo sie sich sitzend umdreht, sieht...
ReplyDeleteWas für eine schöne Frau !
For me outfit is quite nice and fitting, only the hair at its worst...
ReplyDeleteWhat a surprise Victoria in another mannish suit :(
ReplyDeleteI get that you don´t like to see her in a suit, but you must admit that - as suits go - this one is rather feminine looking. I have never in my lifetime seen a man wearing a suit remotely like this one: it´s pink to start with, it´s made to fit a female figure, and the ribbon fastening is the last thing I would associate with a manly suit.
DeleteVanessa, I understand what you're saying about the style and the color of the suit, but to me anytime Victoria wears a suit she just looks masculine.
DeleteIt is not about the future Queen of Sweden, but fashionwise (and this page is about fashion) - it's a desaster, again!
DeleteAgree 100%, she looks masculine.
DeleteSuits aren't flattering for her personality.
Adopting a more masculine style, when occasions allow for that, is not a problem for me. Just look at all the designer presenting cloths along those lines. To me it is not unttractive at all. It fits her perfectly, the colour is nice. This is probably the result of trends in society, women seeking to be considered for their personality, work or action, and not exclusively for their elegance in a more traditional women clothing style. If you look to a fashion magazine you will find some pages going into that direction. Remember that women had often to fight for the acceptance or right to wear trousers.
DeleteLa princesse a grandi le pantalon est plu court. :-))
ReplyDeleteAnother re-use from Victoria, and that is probably the best thing about this suit. It looks like she has dug out one of her mother's old purses as well...
ReplyDeleteShe really doesn't seem to care one bit how her hair style makes her look older and frankly, unattractive
ReplyDeleteA good suit, fits her well and interesting colour. I like it better with the contrasting top, bag and shoes in burgundy though.
ReplyDeleteI agree that her hair is at its worst, and it wouldn´t take much to improve it significantly, the easiest way being a softer side part allowing for some volume while still having the hair out of the way and tied up tidily.
I fully agree with you, Vanessa. I think this suit style fits perfectly for her! Length of trousers ok for me.
DeleteI think that Victoria may have difficult-to-style, "can't do anything with it" hair, which is why she generally opts for a no-fuss, scraped-back look rather than sacrifice time every day to a hairdressing session. Can't be sure about that, but it's my guess. We can enjoy her gorgeous updos at the Nobels and other gala occasions, when she never disappoints!
ReplyDeleteI also fully agree with you, Jane.
DeleteWas thinking about the same thing....but I bet a shoulder length asymmetrical bob would look good and modern on her. An artist hair stylist can create the perfect cut for her face structure and hair type...but she must not care...
DeleteThere are many pictures of her, when she was younger, with her hair down. The severe angles of her face are softened and she looks quite pretty. Her hair does not look like it is hard to manage in any of these pictures. It looks like she has given up on her hair now.
DeleteVery important subject, Victoria looks great.
ReplyDeleteEverything about her look is perfect except the hair style !
ReplyDeleteI think this suit has a terrible fit, too tight in the hip area making those terrible wrinkles, plus they need a couple of extra centimeters on the hem, the jacket is awkward around the bust, and also shorter than it should be, the little tie looks too flimsy for a pantsuit. The shoes are another miss for me, way too much pastel, burgundy or grey would have been a better choice, can't even comment about that purse. Contrary to most, her hair doesn't bother me, I agree it's severe but elegant.
ReplyDeleteIndeed.
DeleteAbsolutely, my first thought was about the tightness on her thighs. That is just not a good look, especially on a mature woman even if she is in good shape. A pretty necklace echoing the feel of the little bouquet would soften the 'mannish' tone. It just is not flattering.
DeleteAs I recently said, she needs a stylist. Her pants are too tight. The problem with the jacket, to me, is that it is hitting at the widest part of her hips--which are already being accentuated due to the tightness of her pants. Another problem I see is that the lapels are not laying properly. The jacket looks as though it has been washed, not dry cleaned. At least it has the tie closure, which feminizes it. I have always had problems with her choice of blouses. She is too buttoned up and needs contrast for her suited looks to work. The same goes for her shoes. A contrasting color would look so much more interesting and wouldn't cost her any money. Her bag is just...NO!
DeleteThis is way too much dusty pink for my taste. Even if this particular suit is a better choice / fit than her previous ones, I agree with Vanessa here, it still leaves wanting in terms of how tight the pants are on her thighs and the blazer pulling too much on her chest. but its progress in the right direction.
ReplyDeleteFor some reason her sartorial choices lately have been rather unfortunate - she has been flipping between pant suits (most of which were a terrible fit) and flowery midi dresses that engulf her and do nothing for her figure. Maybe she is still exploring - but I would have hoped that by now she would know well what works for her and/or would have enlisted a stylist to give her some advice. This kind of sartorial insecurity is understandable for a new royal (in particular if one is coming from a different culture/country), but for a born princess it is unexpected. and then there is the matter of her hair... that leaves me completely puzzled, I cannot imagine she feels comfortable this way. And certainly it doen't look good on her.
Comparing the photos from the two occasions she´s worn this suit, I think that the difference in fit is due to her pulling up the pants higher this time. As a result, they sit further up on her torso, look tighter around the thighs and shorter at the hem.
DeleteIt does not fit that good this time. Agree that it is too tight on the thighs.
