King Abdullah and Queen Rania of Jordan are currently making a state visit to France. King Abdullah, accompanied by Queen Rania arrived in Paris on March 29, 2019. King Abdullah and Queen Rania were welcomed by French President Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron at Elysee Presidential Palace. The King attended a meeting with President Emmanuel Macron to discuss current affairs in the region. |
Brigitte Macron looks very good in her outfit, sharp and restrained and fitting for the occasion. The lace sticking out from the dress of Queen Rania is not nice, the whole outfit in fact needs to be toned down; I feel there’s way too “much fabric” in it!
ReplyDeleteI agree. Mme Macron looks very well put together, skirt not too short. Rania looks like a doll, too much work done in the face, too much hair, and the usual ugly, over the top, clothes.
DeleteAbsolut. Ich schließe mich an.
DeleteAgree about Rania's dress and Mme. Macron's dress, which is not too short, for a change. Rania has as many misses as she has hits.
DeleteAgree with you Tatiana. Mme Macron´s dress is perfect and too much going on with Rania´s style. Again I do not understand her clothes.
DeleteAgree with all of your comments above. Strange choice for Queen Rania. Mme macron could adopt a more elegant style when seated but it as a great outfit for her and much smarter than many of the shorter skirts she has worn.
DeleteRania should cut her hair, she is not a teenager anymore...
DeleteA very unfortunate look for the Queen. Goth meets froo-froo and Hollywood hair is too disjointed a look unless it’s for a private party.

ReplyDeleteBrigitte's dress has a lower hemline (but definitely not dowdy) than the too short ones she has previously worn. Looks so much better! I hope this length of hemline will be a continuing pattern for her and that she does not revert to the much too short ones she has become known for. This dress (and the hemline) is very appropriate for the occasion.
ReplyDeleteMrs. Macron finally got it right! Everything about her dress, especially below the knees length says first lady. Keep it up Brigitte.
DeleteBrigitte’s dress is really good, and I think she has finally found the style that fits her, on the other hand Raina would have been used for a cocktail and it is not appropriate for the occasion.
ReplyDeleteWell, I rather like Rania's look - there is no mistaking which one is a queen! If the skirt didn't have that lace showing, it would be perfect for her. Maybe she should be looking for a haircut soon, about the length of Letizia's? Funny how they all dressed in navy blue. Madame Macron is much improved, but aren't we just to comment on the royalty?
ReplyDeleteI agree, the queen's outfit is nice in HER style!!
Deletewow, Madame Macron looks fantastic, she's definately the best dressed here :-)
ReplyDeleteBoth Ladies look good, but Madame Macron is the winner here.
ReplyDelete100% Agree.
DeleteThere is too much going on with Queen Ranias skirt. The Lace part is like a slip showing. I must say the Jordanian Royals are the most traveled Royals and the most busy ones. Brigitte Macrons dress is classic, love it. I just wish she do something else with her hair, this is OMO .
ReplyDeleteI too wish Mme. Macron would have another hair style. The cut is too young for her, the dark roots are showing.
DeleteI disagree. Mrs Macron hairstyle has surely been worked out with her hair stylist and has the advantage of drawing attention to her hair, rather than on other aspects (eg neck which does not necessarily want to show). The hair roots are not a problem at this stage; I am sure she pays attention to it. I am also against the feeling that "senior" women should have short hair, and grey I guess.
DeleteMrs Macron is a senior citizen (according to statistical data) I am her same age. As such, she is dressed very well. Queen Rania is young, beautiful, has a lovely figure and has been blessed with a lush head of hair. She lives in a country where the majority of women follow a restrictive dress code. She is on a visit to Paris, the bastion of fashion. She pulled out all the stops and looks like a fashion icon. I applaud her!
ReplyDeleteRania dresses any which way she wants in her country
DeleteRaina's look is ultra luxurious and romantic. I love the lace sweep at the edge of the full skirt. Nothing against Brigitte Macron--her look is serviceable and appropriate. But, as a poster mentioned above, there is no doubt who is Royal here--and it's Queen Rania.
ReplyDeleteI like Rania's outfit, not another pencil dress. And the lace is quite interesting, overall it fits well and she has a lovely figure. Mme Macron has indeed learnt to let her hemlines fall as appropriate for the wife of a head of state. This dress in particular looks well fitted for her size, if a little blah. Her penchant for Louis Vuitton dresses is quite remarkable (beats Kate's love of nude heels with slight variations of shades). Overall, good showing from two elegant ladies, in my opinion.

Ms. Macron is the picture of chic, fabulous color, interés detail, 2 more centimeters on the length and it would have been a perfect 10. I have no words for Queen Rania's, and I generally love her style, the overly shiny fabric, resembling leather in some pictures, the unfortunate half peplum, the incongruent lace, and the total black, makes my eyes hurt.
ReplyDeleteMadame Macron looks perfect.
ReplyDeleteBrigitte is looking like a first lady. I hope she continues to dress in skirts this length. She looks fantastic. Raina's outfit is not to my liking at all. She has a "more is more" philosophy when it comes to dressing, and it does not come acress as regal. There is so much going on with the shine, pleats and lace that the eye doesn't know where to go. A most unfortunate choice.
ReplyDeleteI think both ladies look fantastic.
ReplyDeleteMadame Macron looks chic and stylish and her dress fits perfectly and is the perfect length. Any shorter or longer and the effect would not be the same. Très bien!
Queen Rania has pulled out all the plugs. Yes there's a lot going on in fabric textures, cuts and details, but all the elements are interesting in combination and the monochromatic black holds it all together. She has a wonderful figure and height and presence, and as such can pull off these sartorial risks (and others as we have seen) quite successfully. I like it. She's a modern queen.

Why do « women of a certain age « have to cut their hair?
ReplyDeletesorry i am french andwe have in France much more stylists better than the one choosed by Brigitte Macron .
ReplyDeleteMuch more we have too perfect hair-dressers , unfortunately you are not obliged to agree when you saw the hairs style of our "first lady"
I agree.
DeleteThey don't have to 'cut' their hair, they have to adopt a style that flatters them instead of having one that is for much younger women.
ReplyDeleteMme Macron is perfect here, and I would like to leave her with the hairdo that she prefers, she still looks stunning. I am puzzled, is the dress that Rania is wearing leather? It is a bit too much for me, in any case.
ReplyDeleteLovely dress on Mme Macron while representing France; color and style. Rania's outfit is interesting; both businesslike w/the jacket and youthful w/the skirt.
