On the 3rd day of their visit to Argentina, Queen Margrethe II and Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark visited Tandil city where some people of Danish origin reside. Danish Juan Bird emigrated to Argentina in 1844 and he was one of the pioneers who founded Tandil city where the first Danish colony in Argentina was established. The Queen then visited the Danish church in Tandil. The Queen had the opportunity to speak with persons from the four Danish congregations in Buenos Aires, Tres Arroyos, Necochea and Tandil. Afterwards, The Queen and The Crown Prince were received at Tandil’s City Hall. The Queen and The Crown Prince attended a luncheon with representatives from the Danish community in Argentina. |
