The Rose Ball (The Bal de la Rose) was created by Princess Grace of Monaco in 1954. Every year, the rose ball gathers the greatest personalities for a prestige charity gala for the Princess Grace foundation. TThe main goal of the foundation is to help people and children in need by developing humanitarian and philanthropic projects. |

ReplyDeletePrincess Caroline is looking beautiful to her waist. The skirt of the dress is Western-Style, but not bad, except the length of the dress is too short. What ruins it a bit. Looking beautiful all around are Princess Charlotte and Beatrice. Tatiana didn´t fit in IMHO. Princess Alexandra is stunning.

ReplyDeleteBeatrice is elegant as usual and Caroline looks as Caroline as possible in a rather very elegant way. Tatiana looks like she generally does but in a much more toned down, slightly more tailored way. Charlotte is stunning and clothes look great on her. Alexandra gets a teenager pass. Good to see them wear proper jewellery for a change.

DeleteI love Caroline's dress - I like the contrast of simple black and frothy pink ruffles. She seemed a bit reflective - the absence of Karl Lagerfeld after so many years must be painful.

Tatiana looks good and is loyal to her usual style, red suits her - but it's not quite "right" when seen against what the others are wearing. I think her earrings also belonged to Princess Grace.
I don't mind Charlotte's outfit but I think it's badly executed particularly around the bust. Her hair is a bit meh for me.
Personally, Alexandra is the winner - she looks sleek and stunning and very "Riviera" elegant.
Franny, I totally agree with you. Especially because this is the first year, when Caroline's good friend Karl Lagerfeld is not with her anymore. He always created the "outfits" of the events and has been very close to the family, godfather of Charlotte Casiraghi too...

Tatiana - not elegant this cloud of red fabric with ruffles :( But finally a smile :) Usually she looks a little bit grumpy
Have a look to Charlotte: her top shows us a part of her breast, not a good choice. And her hair ist boring.
Princess Caroline : I don't like her dress. Too much ruffles on the side, bring back a hint of french cancan... And not suitable for her age, sorry.
I totally agree with the comment about Charlotte, outfit and hair. It lmooks as if Dimitri had not a good influence on her style, I already that impression earlier.

ReplyDeleteCaroline is always fashion forward, and naturally elegant, personally I don like this ruffled dress, the idea seems like a good one, but the mix of fabrics and colors reminds me of a cabbage, hair, jewels and décolletage impeccable.

Alexandra's dress is anew take in sequins, I really like it, very summery and fresh.
Charlotte's outfit is sexy, and that's about it.
I have no words for Tatiana's dress.
IMO the winner is Alessandra De Osma, what a beautiful gown, the color, fabric and detail are superb, this woman is so elegant!!
Since the theme of 2019 Rose Ball was The Beaches of Monaco it's very easy to decide: Princess Alexandra of Hanover and Charlotte Casiraghi are spot on!

Caroline: Good overall, so poised, such charisma. Beautiful bodice, skirt part not so great as such, but works for the rose theme of the event. I mind the too short length of the dress though. Had been lots better if proper floor length.
Alexandra: looks great, fresh and fun dress, good choice for her, flattering silhouette. Also, I like that the pattern in her version of the dress looks less beach-umbrella-like compared to the model. (I wonder if that was a requested alteration or a result by chance.) Shoes a bit heavy for the dress maybe, and she looks a bit pale overall.
Tatiana: I don´t like her dress, but it´s very much her. At least it´s tailored, and I give her major credit for that smile.
Charlotte´s outfit is almost tacky. Similarly low neckline and similarly high slit as Alexandra´s but so much less elegant. Poorly styled hair didn´t help. Her guy is good-looking dude but needs a haircut.

ReplyDeleteNot true. Stephanie hasn't been for years and has no interest in doing so. Charlene chooses not attend, she could go if she wanted. As for eclipsing that's a matter of opinion and personal taste. It's not all about Caroline and her family - it's about raising money for the Princess Grace foundation. Caroline has been President for years (makes sense as Grace was her mother) and her children come to support her which is perfectly natural. Stephanie, her children and Charlene would all be welcome if they chose to go but they have different interests and commitments.

Alexandras dress is not bad but it's also not a 'wow' dress and it's not appropriate for the occasion imho, it's to casual styled.
I really don't know, why they ruin fashion that much.
I think Alexandra looks the best, followed by Charlotte. Caroline looks like she came from a Victorian Costume party. Beatrice is in her usual silouhette. Tatiana is no surprise either.
ReplyDeletePrincess Alexandra is fabulous, easily the best here, followed by the blue gown worn, I guess by Princess Alessandra, as I don't recognise the couple in the last photo. Beatrice is as elegant and beautiful as always even if this is a repeat outfit. Don't really like any of the other outfits for varying reasons. Having been a relatively plain teenager, compared to an exceptionally good looking mother, what a lovely young lady Princess Alexandra has become.
