On February 18, 2019, Spanish King Felipe and Queen Letizia presided over the delivery ceremony of "Gold Medals to Merit in the Fine Arts 2017" at Merced Palace in Cordoba and presented the medals to their winners. The Gold Medal of Merit in the Fine Arts (Medalla de Oro al mérito en las Bellas Artes) is given by the Ministry of Culture of Spain to persons or organizations that have shown success in art and culture or to those that have made contributions to promotion of art and culture or to conservation of artistic heritage. (Queen Letizia wore a new checked top and skirt by Hugo Boss.) |
Quality fabric, perfect fit, black and white with red as the contrast colour. Letizia at her best! The red purse from the last wearing of the coat could be a better match for this outfit. This purse looks portmanteau-ish.
ReplyDeleteLove, love love, perfect.
What a great Houndstooth outfit, love the shoes and coat too.Great look on Letizia.
ReplyDeleteShe is perfect.
ReplyDeletebeautiful
ReplyDelete❤
ReplyDeleteNice , classic & chic, perfect complements, love that she chose the black purse as no to make it too "matchy"
ReplyDeleteI love houndstooth! A classic print that is updated in an exaggerated size. The red shoes are the perfect touch, topped by her gorgeous red coat!
ReplyDelete@ Angie, before you go ahead and correct the author of this blog in a rather condescencing manner, it would be a good idea to check your sources. It is indeed a Palace, that once housed the Convent of La Merced, and its utilized for many cultural events. You can check on Wikipedia.
ReplyDeleteRegards
Delete@Angie, My source of information is Casa Real, not Wikipedia. http://www.casareal.es/ES/Actividades/Paginas/actividades_actividades_detalle.aspx?data=13868
DeleteSí y no, Hellen Electra.
I am wondering why he isn't wearing a coat?
ReplyDeleteEasy!! Not cold!! 18C in Córdoba, all Spain is having more heat that the normal in February.
DeleteThe coat is outstanding! In combination with the shoes, it elevates the rather underwhelming dress and creates a stunning overall look.
ReplyDeleteI don't think this outfit is underwhelming. This outfit is a must-have in every woman's closet no matter you're chubby or slender.
DeleteLike the outfit and the red shoes and coat. Great look.
ReplyDeleteVery elegant outfit that´s edgy and timelessly chic at the same time. It fits her very well, but I must say that I´d prefer the skirt to be a tad shorter. Not quite as short as on the model, but just below the knee.
ReplyDeleteShoes, earrings and coat are great. The bag is too bulky/heavy for this look.
agreed on all the comments - the bag stands out in a bad way indeed.
ReplyDeletePeak letizia
ReplyDeleteSorry Angie, facts are facts it's called The Palace of The Merced, and yes your comment was condescending as well as your response to mine, stating that you don't give a fig ( and I translate liberaly) about what Wikipedia says it's also very much in character with the entire comment. If you take the liberty to correct the author of the blog as well as the participants, you should be able to accept corrections as well.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day.
Letizia looks so elegant in her houndstooth outfit. Great fit and accessories.
ReplyDeleteAt first glance I thought its a dress, after second glance I understood its nicely put together top and skirt ;) She can easily recycle these two items again, e.g. wear with different blouse or skirt and create yet another fresh and new look.
Great combination, great style, it looks really great on her.
ReplyDeleteI love the contrast between the color of Shoes/Coat and the Top/Skirt.
This outfit shows off her perfect posture.
ReplyDelete:) The fellow in picture 6.
Letizia looks great WHEREVER she was. But then she looks great most all of the time.
ReplyDeletePerfection!
ReplyDeletePerfection!
