What a gorgeous woman. Beautiful glowing skin, warm sparkling eyes. Sapphire blue is a great color for her and showcases the gold and sapphire bracelet. Harry also looks terrific--elegant suit and tie ---and healthy and fit.

Agree 100%. Dress, make up, hair accessories are all fantastic and I would certainly count it as one of her best evening outfits. I really try to look beyond the belly clutching but it sets my teeth on edge every time (this is nothing to do with age, nationality, race, status, religion etc etc). Other pregnant royals in the UK and abroad have managed to endure pregnancy without this. However, back to the positive. Fabulous outfit and I also hope we see it repeated.

Ill-fitting, yes, the entire upper portion of the dress is far too big. You can see it especially im the shots when she is sitting, there is far too much loose fabric around the arms. This is because she chose not to wear a maternity or bespoke gown, instead a designer gown many sizes too large. A poor choice, in my opinion.

I want to say that "english rose" is a concept like "american showgirl", it is a certain way of appereance and behaviour. You probably have heared the terms "all american girl" or "deutsches Fräuleinwunder", that is something similar. I my dancing club for example there is a lovely young lady from Poland who lives in Germany for quite a long time now - and she describes herself as a "deutsches Fräulein" (with a modern vibe of course!) because she likes that concept.

Even Diana was not only an'English Rose', in her later years, which means when she was about the age Meghan has now, she was more of an eccentric Diva, who knew very well how to play the game.

DeleteI want to like this dress, but this is not a maternity dress and it shows. The fabric bunches up over her belly and is distracting. Why not take advantage of her accessibility to designers and have bespoke maternity wear or buy maternity dresses that fit her well instead if just sizing up a dress she likes.

I work in large global teams and have to do with very many people from many parts of the world. I've experienced it several times that collegues - male and female - from Israel and Palestina sit peacefully side by side, developing software, and when it's time for lunch they sit peacefully side-by-side and have lunch together (I wish politicians learned from that!) And why does it work? Because we have a common denominator: job role first.

Beautiful Meghan! Fashionwise her whole apperance here is a win, dress, hair, make-up, attitude. Superb! I like it a lot. The dress style and the deep blue glittering color suit Meghan so well. The U Boat neckline works for Meghan. That's why she wears it quite often. The split is not too long, just to show a little bit of skin. Her legs look great in these Weitzman sandals, which fit perfectly with the style of the dress. Her ankles are slender, not even a bit swollen. When I was 6 months pregnant I could not have walked on these fragile sandals with almost zero strap support.

It seems to me that you like to delve into things that have very little to do with a forum targeting fashion, and I get that impression because I frankly get lost reading your comments. ReplyDeleteI would like to give an example, let's say that I am giving an opinion on Maxima's outfit, here it goes.
1: I don't particularly like this color, and the fabric seems a little too shiny for a morning event, in mi opinion the cut does not flatter her figure, nice shoes, and hat.
2: I think she looks terrible, maybe because she likes to be the center of attention, probably because she is not European, I think she shouldn't wear all that jewelry it's just too ostentatious, and her smile looks fake.
See the difference in the comments? #1 is about fashion, whereas # 2 is just a judgement of character about a person that you know nothing about, but for some reason doesn't fit into what you consider unworthy of her role.

DeleteCherry Blossom, I admit that I don't know much about fashion, but I like looking at pictures with people dressed up. Every now and then I have to dress up myself, because me and other members of the team are invited to festive events (with clients), so I even own two evening gowns! On this blog I simply describe my perception of the royal ladies and find it interesting to read the sometimes very detailed comments on hemlines and cleavages and clutch versus handbag and so on. And I am quite sure that nobody of those royal ladies read this blog!
