On January 9, 2019, Queen Mathilde of Belgium visited "Le maître de l'énigme" (The master of enigma) exhibition including the works of Belgian artist Fernand Khnopff (1858-1921) at the Petit Palais in Paris. The exhibition brings together around one hundred emblematic examples of the complex aesthetic of Fernand Khnopff, who was a painter, draftsman, engraver, sculptor and the stage director of his personal work. |
Que hermosa y elegante se reintegro la reina MATILDE
ReplyDeleteVery nice once again.
ReplyDeleteClassy and elegant - as always. (She lost weight, looks good on her)
DeleteHer face and expression .. always so regal. And that smile my word! So radiant.
ReplyDeleteI love Mathilde in tones of burnished bronze, copper, or gold -- she looks wonderful here.
ReplyDeleteNot ANOTHER stiff and shiny Natan package!
ReplyDeleteStunning, although the dress reminds me on an italian easter egg.
DeleteCloth and design on this coat are pretty. But the fit, esp around the waist, make her look pregnant in some of the pics. It may be her posture and the way she is standing. She has this look in many items that she wears. I wonder why? Is it because she is rather short waisted?
ReplyDeleteTotally agree. It actually makes her look as though she has gained quite a bit of weight. It does not suit her silhouette.
DeleteI think the problem is really he posture but rather connected to the shape of her legs which is a little weird I think she is a beautiful woman but with a taste way too dated for her age
DeleteI like Mathilde, I like this colour on her and I like her hair here but that's about it. I don't like the stiffness of the fabric, I don't like where it sits on her waist, I don't like how it flattens her bosom.
ReplyDeleteAgree.
DeleteFranny, you are spot on, I also dislike these shiny fabrics for day events, it adds years to this pretty and vibrant woman.
DeleteShe is so beautifully tall and lean, but does not compliment these precious attributes by the high waisted and (IMO) too short length of many of her coats and dresses. Lowering the waist as well as the length of her outfits just slightly would make such a huge complimentary difference.
ReplyDeleteYou are absolutely correct.
DeleteTotally agree.
DeleteThe fabric is too stiff on the delicate queen.
ReplyDeleteIf she was dressed her age she would not look much older than she is.
ReplyDeleteWrong clothes for young and attractive woman .
Ze is zo mooi, onze Koningin, mooie jas.
ReplyDeleteFashionwise a disappointing look, although nice and expensive fabrics. Who on earth is her tailor not capable to recognize her body-silhouette? Where is the waist? "High" waists look on most woman not flattering.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful face, make-up and hair on the Queen!
